It looks like it the last few weeks because he has been under a lot of pressure...
The thing I WILL say is that if he starts getting pressured a lot at the start of the game, it seems he expects pressure and will bail early at times or even throw early in expectation of pressure being there even if it isn't.
Just in general I think when he gets rattled or doesn't trust what he is seeing it is his go to. Simms sort of eluded to it this week in his review. He just thinks he can make magic happen every play. I will add on that if he doesn't quite get what is happening in front of him he is physically talented enough to do it on his own fairly often even if there is easy money in front of him.

Allegedly Diggs made a pass at this dude and tried to drug him, this has been spreading like wildfire and there's video footage of Diggs brother showing up at this dude's apartment to make him stay silent. They allegedly stole a diamond chain from the guy and Diggs wore it to a game!
And then allegedly he also slept with an 8 month pregnant Cardi B, while she was still married to gangsta rapper Offset
To me, this makes all of Diggs past odd behavior make a lot of sense and says to me he's just a toxic dude. None of this stuff was coming out about him while he was in Buffalo.
Putting the whole "Diggs drugged me and tried to bang me" thing to the side for the moment.
Robbing a dude and wearing his stuff on game day is super trashy.-

Sure looked like he suffered a head injury on the flea flicker play vs Ravens. Banged his head on turf pretty bad on that play. Sure hope it wasn’t two concussions in two weeks.
They’re actually 7 days apart.

I feel like Josh bails early when he doesn't trust what he is seeing from the defense. I've kind of started to think it doesn't really have anything to do with pressure. When he doesn't recognize what the defense is doing, he bails, because it's easier for him to improvise from outside of the pocket. And sometimes — as in the Ravens and Texans games — this creates pressure when there may not have been if he had hung in the pocket. I don't think it's better or worse this year. I think he's always been like this.
I don’t disagree entirely.
As Josh pushes 30 he’ll have to remedy this/be more consistent in more traditional parts of his game or he won’t be a viable QB into his mid 30’s. You can’t stiff arm DT’s and hurdle LB’s forever. And you if you can’t do that you still have to make the offense hum.

And yet he has 9 catches in 5 games. Explain that for me. Either he isn’t being utilized right or these stats are not accurate. Less than 2 receptions a game.

Agreed. They're not threatening on the perimeter or on the deep ball.
I'd be loading up the box, spamming the middle of the field, and keying on the run game.
Prove you can beat me outside. Prove you can beat me deep.
As for Buffalo countering that: MVS, for whatever anyone may think of him, didn't suddenly become slow or unable to get open deep. Keon Coleman was brought in to be a jump ball specialist downfield and to be open even when he's covered (which he's done a bit of already). Curtis Samuel is not slow, either. The Bills potentially HAVE the horses to make defenses pay for this type of strategy, but they have not yet done so.
Personally, I'd like to see a mix of 12 personnel with Coleman and MVS as the outside receivers (which I think presents the run threat and opens up play-action possibilities short and intermediate to our talented TEs and deep to the WRs) and 11 personnel with Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, and Kincaid and Cook as the tailback. Pair these with plenty of motion and play-action. This, to me, is the way to make our offense dangerous again.
These two go hand in hand, and like everything else, this isn’t a pie. A lot of things can be true at the same time.Josh is a freak athlete with a tendency to lock on to one or two guys, do something insane and throw to who is in there or his favorite guy. And he’s going all that at level that is pacing him to a likely HoF career.
He’s certainly capable of being surgical and equitable but that isn’t his sweet spot or his default.

Of course.
Put Allen in a different jersey and the entire message board is clamoring my that the NFL is risky this guys future.

That's all speculation. It's not like Allen hasn't played bad before. He doesn't have a concussion every time he plays badly.
This is an internet football fan forum. Nearly 100% of every post is pure speculation and opinion.
That is literally the entire point.-

Psl's are such a bad buy for consumers. Wait until 40 mins before kickoff and get a really good seat for $250-350. Do that a few times a year and you're in for 1000ish a season..beats the hell out of clunking down 5-10k on a useless PSL thats worth absolutely nothing.
If you have the money fine, but if you're on the fence at all it's a hard pass IMO
The only way I consider PSL’s is if I get right of first refusal to purchase anything that comes to the stadium. And even then I’m hesitant because we only get 8-10 football games per year and nothing else. But if they start getting concerts, winter classics, monster trucks, WWE, etc. stuff I could go to or sell, then I’d gladly plunk down the clash.

Worth its own discussion since that could have changed the game.
It’s arguable this wasn’t the best throw in the world, but it’s 100% catchable. To me, there’s plenty of arc and time for Hollins to adjust under it, and instead he makes this bizarre stop and start that loses him ground.
It really doesn’t matter where the safety is. Hollins was 5 yards passed the nearest defender.
Every year we seem to have half a dozen or more discussions about ball placement and whether this play or that play should inside our outside.
Not sure if my feels equals reals but it feels like we talk about that more often than other teams.

When you're throwing from your own end zone and facing a lot of pressure all day, I can understand not throwing deep balls b/c you risk a sack. And even a hand off running play could be risky (given we'd been stuffed a number of times). That's why at least one QB sneak (on first down) to burn time/force timeout would have been a good start. And maybe we gain 2-3 yards and get more breathing room? And then either another QB sneak or play action pass on 2nd down?
There is zero chance they call a QB sneak after Allen bonked his head.-

i am going to be very interested in the all 22 this week to see how much of this was a coaching/gameplan issue, wr issue, or decision making issue.

My game ball goes the the dumb ass independent neurologist that cleared Allen after clearly being knocked out cold. Sometime these athletes need to be saved from themselves.
Not to derail the thread but I think there’s some speculation that Josh went in before he was examined by the neuro. -
I’ve come around to moving on from McDermott. But I’m not OK with Beane yet.
The Sabres org is historically bad. I have absolutely zero trust in Terry.

I think there’s a chance this is Allen’s second concussion in 7 days.
Allen needs to sit down for some time.
(I’m aware I am not a doctor and that this is all internet conjecture)

The fact that he went back in the game is an utter disgrace for the national football league.
He has a probable hall of fame career ahead of him…. who cares about this game in the long run?
Who is the neurologist who cleared him?
Who is evaluating this neurologist? Is there any doctor who doesn’t think he had a concussion.
This is dark and disturbing. Feels like the Bills are entering a new Dark Age.
Bring in a new coaching staff now.
I’ve said for a whole that this team should keep McD. But similarly to McDaniels, I think this is a fireable offense for any HC to happen on their watch. Direct over site or not. It doesn’t matter.4 minutes ago, Man with No Name said:if he was lucid, what would a neurologist see? Not sure whoever would have been looking at him would have seen the footage from CBS. In fact, how much did CBS show or talk about in the first place? I wasn't really paying attention to the game, but I had it on, and did not realize or think anything was going on there.
Reading between the lines, I think there’s some implication that Allen did not see the independent neuro.
(Also the NFL’s concussion protocol is a joke)

Threads like this are proof what a caller on WGR said The Buffalo Bills cannot win football games when Josh is having a rough game.
Stroud had two brutal turnovers and a brutal grounding call at key moments.
Did anybody on this team at all make a key play to bail him out? NODid anybody on the Texans make a big play to bail stroud out see Nico Collins.
Josh is a damn good football player one of the best players on the planet but he is not a robot.
Wasn’t the box score something like 1/9 24 yards pushing the end of the half?
Most teams in the NFL aren’t good enough to win games with that kind of performance in the passing game.

Do you have other “reliable” sources?
So glad I checked into this forum today. Having learned that not only is this upcoming game a guaranteed loss but the season is also doomed to failure, I can now free up several hours per week I would have waisted enjoying pointless football games. I think it great to know the results before the games are actually played. Thanks TBDrs!
WTF are you talking about.
I was having a conversation about Cam Lewis. What is the rest of the drivel about?

I agree that Lewis is a liability out there as a starter (would be the case for any backup on any team). Its pretty visibly obvious at times.
Do tell me though about the faith that you have in these calculations (ie. player x is allowing whatever completion % and yards per attempt against), when the Bills use more zone coverage than almost any team out there. Do you feel like they do a great job of determining which player has actual responsibility when say one man is in trail coverage technique while another plays over top? Serious question here, not doubting you... but maybe doubting the stat provider.
PFR is a very reliable site to source.

Just FYI....
Taron Johnson an All Pro allowed 67.9% completion percentage last year and a 92 QB rating against.
I think as a slot corner, those numbers will be high because they are mostly shorter range passes.
Sorry, I posted the data before the Ravens game. Cam Lewis is actually allowing 75.9% completion and he’s averaging 7.4 yards per target and 9.8 yards per completion. Compared to Taron’s 5/7.4.We have a guy on the field where if the other team just throws in his direction they have a 76% chance of a first down. That’s bonkers.
He's not any good at covering or tackling. He is a major liability.

That kind of reflects the eye test in my opinion as Cam Lewis is pretty bad all around at corner. He has the occasional good moment, but more often than not looks like a soup sandwich out there
He’s my least favorite player on defense at the moment. With Spector not that far behind.-

Cam Lewis I think can cover. I just don't think he's a reliable tackler.
He allows 72% completion and 111 passer rating.
He cannot cover. In fact I think he’s second on the team in tackles because his coverage skills suck so bad.

Was just playing around with some stats when I noticed the Bills actually have the best pass defense in the league this year ranked by yards per attempt. The Bills also have by a very significant amount the worst run defense in the league in terms of yards per carry. Wonder how teams will game plan against us?
The key will be the offense scoring early and often.-

I believe this is incorrect. What I understood was that Beane did not rework his deal, Von just flat out took a pay cut without altering his deal in any way moving forward. It was maybe the biggest deal of the offseason to save cap space this year and not change our ability to get out of his deal next year. Maybe I am misremembering, but I think this is what really happened.
I wasn’t talking about the most recent adjustment. Von was restructured before the start of the 2023 season. That was dumb.-

How was Josh able to finish the game with a concussion?
in The Stadium Wall

I have rewatched the game and the whole thing really just gives off second half of GB vibes and it took Allen weeks to get his groove back.
There were a couple of posters that were surprised that Allen wasn't evaluated for a concussion late in the Ravens game after the trick play and he smashed his head and his shoulder. Totally unqualified conjecture, but I wonder if he rattled his bell there and this is what you get when you spend the week after a concussion exercising, watching film, and studying the playbook?
