  1. You can “mentally” move on all day if you want. But it’s a $29M dead cap hit this year. We don’t have the cap space to eat the additional $17M.
  2. Two different turfs seems like a terrible idea. A lot of plays result in players running out of bounds and players tend to be pretty particular with their cleats on different turfs and field conditions.
  3. Not advocating it but he’s only about $1.5M more off the roster than on next year. 2026 is the available out year. I think they give him 2025 and weigh either an extension in 2026 to lessen his cap number after two major injuries or they cut him all together. Milano and Tre are two very “Billsy” career arcs. Like no matter how far away we get from some of those joke years we just can’t quite catch a break.
  4. LOL talk about all time terrible advice. Those USFL/XFL guys make literally like 1/10th of what a back up in the NFL makes. AJ McCarron made like $100k in the USFL in 2022 and $1.165M in 2023. He was on the practice squad and was active for 2 total games. Trubisky's contract with Buffalo has $2.5M guaranteed.
  5. My main window is Philly and the Bills are listed as audio only. EDIT: It’s my local game but I cut the cord. Turned on my VPN and that did the trick
  6. Grr. I cut the cord and NFL plus is audio only.
  7. Anybody else not having a video option for NFL plus? So frustrating
  8. Shyte! I got booted circa 2015 for sneaking a beer into the family section. I was supposed to take a $250 code of conduct course before coming back in. I never did it. See you guys at the opener!
  9. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT EVER contradict Cover One!
  10. The “Poyer and Hyde aren’t good anymore” has picked up so much steam the last year or two that’s it’s basically become meaningless corporate flow chart jargon. It has next to no meaning anymore. Poyer and Hyde have still been very good even if they’ve been short of the best versions of themselves. They have been responsible for a lot more than just executing the play that’s called. Rapp is a starting safety in this league and couldn’t clearly beat either out for a starting role last year. To your point, I don’t think we’ve adequately replaced either.
  11. If you go down route 5 a ways this has been Terrys style. Secret meetings with Darcy Regier, firing Bots for not falling in line, the yes man that is Kevyn Adams. Terry may not be assertive like Jerry Jones but he has some expectations and directions. It’s been fairly well reported that McBeane have worked to keep the Bills insulated from the Sabres. It’s also been rumored that in their contract extensions McBeane both have a no meddling clause that gives them final say in all football decisions. Something others have asked for with the Sabres but refused.
  12. I think the value add with them in the offense is that both those guys can do both. They’ll likely both bounce back and forth.
  13. I don't even think it is that. It is a "throw the ball to the open guy"/"Make them defend everybody" motto.
  14. This is on the cusp of being a very Madden-esque sound bite.
  15. Before he died I thought Hamlin did a well as a backup and an "OK"job in spot starting duty as long as he had Poyer/Hyde next to him. Jaquan Johnson was terrible. I am not high on him as a starting safety, but I think he catches a lot of flack for last season and some people are lumping his play in 2022 with Jaquan Johnsons.
  16. First off, the Bills not the fans should be counting on anything from Claypool and not hesitate to cut him at the slightest whiff that he could be an issue. That said, Claypools upside is tremendous and if (BIG IF!) he can get his head on straight he has the ability to be a very good, bordering on great WR1 option. Again, everybody should hope for a happy little accident on that one, and not rely on him one bit.
  17. Whenever somebody goes “Josh Allen stinks” he goes on a tear. So thanks anonymous NFL exec for getting that out of the way early. MVP incoming.
  18. He’s entered the Sammy Watkins era of his career.
  19. What an absolutely insanely specific stat. This list of current starting QB's in the NFl with more than 350 playoff passing attempts is Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Russel Wilson, and Josh Allen. That's it. That is the entire list. But hey, I guess if you dropped the threshold to 300 playoff pass attempts he would lose to Jared Goff. LOL. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_att_career_playoffs.htm I am not even arguing with you one way or another. This is just a silly exercise.
  20. Same with me. I was 6'1 in 8th grade. Entered HS at 6'2.
  21. I am no Terry Pegula fan. His run with the Sabres is historically bad in the big 4 leagues in the US. He is arguably the worst owner in NHL history. But I am very slow to point the finger at him to the Bills and/or the Bills WR room. For whatever reason(s) I think McBeane have done a good job at walling him out of football decisions. The NFL prints money and the team has been about as close to a championship as one can hope. I think there are zero financial chains around OBD at the moment. What happens after the Josh Allen era is TBD.
  22. The vibe I am getting is that Claypool will be a guy that will have to prove himself all camp. I think they are purposefully putting him with the 2's and will keep him there all the way through camp and force him to compete and work everyday. He is likely getting a ton of positive reinforcement, "A lot of talent. You can ball" and then when it comes time for drills the staff goes "oh by the way, not good enough, you are with Mitch" I they can get him rolling in a way where he is putting in work, seeing results, putting in more work, seeing more results, momentum is a dangerous thing in sports. Getting CC back on track would be a phenomenal addition to the roster. That said, he is probably seeing a lot of favorable matchups at the moment.
  23. "They made more later" isn't really relevant. You quoted a post where I literally said "percentage of cap dollars". The cost of a player in a given year is super important when it comes to winning a championship. And even for teams that won and came close to doing what you are saying you have LAR who are a cap disaster and not very good, When Mahomes started to get paid KC moved on from both Watkins and Tyreek when their bills came due. Then TB has been just bad after having those players retire. Also for the two teams and players the OP cited Detroit took a good portion of Staffords SB year was the year he was traded. He had a very average QB cap number at $13M (14th among QB's), OBJ signed vet minimum ($400k), Godwin was on a rookie deal, Mike Evans was on a front loaded deal on a team with no QB when he signed. With the way things are now the Dolphins will have a $30M Tyreek Hill, a $25M Jalen Waddle, and a $30M Tua in 2025. It is an unheard of cap allocation that has yet to be proven to be a way to win a championship in the NFL. Not even in the "they just kicked the can down the road" narrative you keep pushing. As far as I am concerned let Philly do it. Let Miami do it. Let Cincinatti do it. Nobody has ever won a SB or sustained any success trying to go down that road.
  24. Go check their cap numbers the years they won in TB then report back.
