  1. Me too. The AFCN are harder on each other than any division in football. But also the Steelers have been really bad. Ultimately I think sports shows and the league are trying to spotlight Nix and Payton as the “next big thing”. Tomlin and Russ aren’t as compelling even if they do have a better chance.
  2. Saturday, Monday, California, or Arizona. Going to be tough for those guys to get up and prep for a football game. Honestly, how many players have families and/or homes in SoCal. Really tough focus week for a lot of guys across the league I’m sure.
  3. No. Manning is clearly one of the best QB’s of all time. Dungy was lucky to have Manning. So was Caldwell. That’s my point. Dungy was a very good coach elevated by a great QB. Edit: I don’t think Dungy is a HoF coach without Manning. Manning was great Dungy was very good. Both cannot be elevated to great given their lack of championships. Manning and Dungy are a much less muddled example of Sean Payton and Drew Brees. The OP I quoted said Brees was a top 10’QB. I was adding on about Sean Payton.
  4. This! Obviously we don’t know what happens if somebody else is in that position. But come on. What’s the alternative? Douglas? Even Ingram has filled in inside and outside with some success. Losing Ingram or Douglas would be way worse than Codrington. Not that’s ST isn’t important, it is. But we have guys capable of fair catching the ball if needed. We have less guys capable of playing DB.
  5. At the risk of derailing the threat I’ve long argued that both Peyton and Brees cannot both be considered amazing. They just can’t. A top 10 all time QB with a top 10 all time coach gets to more than 1 Super Bowl. Full stop. I think Brees was very good. I also think Peyton was very good. Neither were great and neither deserve to be treated n the conversation of “great”. Look at Andy Reid in Philly. He was great there, but now he’s getting GOAT’d (by some) with Mahomes. Reid was pretty good with a pretty good QB with McNabb. If Brees is better than McNabb how are we considering Peyton awesome? Or was Brees just a volume passer elevated by a great coach? But both can’t be great or they’d have more success.
  6. Meh, I think both Seahawks jerseys are great just different .
  7. He looked like he was pretty high on something though. Lol
  8. I might have missed the entire interaction here but, it “so you’re saying McD will win a SB with his next team” in relation to Andy Reid and McD certainly seemed like a joke. You guys must be a blast at kids parties too. Sheesh.
  9. I am not defending our defense or McD. But I tend to agree a bit here. We aren't exactly built like Indy with Dwight Freeney. But the defense is built to force offenses to try and keep up with our offense. On the flip side, we've had huge issues (LAR, BAL) when our offense can't get going. McD has done OK vs. Lamar holding him to 24, 3, 20, and 35 (woof) points. But on the flip side Harbaugh has done well against Allen holding him to 17, 17, 23, and 10. Looking at those numbers it is almost surprising to see that they are 2-2 head to head.
  10. I have become quite underwhelmed with the Cover 1 coverage the last few years. But now they are chasing clicks and comment on things outside of their wheel house and produce commentary for the sake of clicks. They can be, and often are, wrong about stuff these days. Their tweets and videos have been treated as gospel the last few years even though their content has fallen off a cliff in quality. Now it appears that the C1 guys themselves think they are infallible. That was a totally reasonable exchange. No need need to get all offended because somebody disagreed with you.
  11. I expected that to be a much more confident and aggressive chant. That was embarrassing.
  12. SNF for sure. I think the league preference would be to give Baltimore an extra day rather than give the Bills one less day. (Saturday->Sunday vs Sunday->Saturday)
  13. We’ve talked about this at home since Allen arrived. As cool as the SB would be to attend, I’d rather watch the game in Buffalo. If the clock were to strike 0:00 with a Bills win I’d much rather be with my people. Also would you rather be at some generic expensive party hosted by Shaq or whatever and a million strangers who have never been to Buffalo? Or the one where they have to grease the lamp posts?
  14. If the Bills are hiding head injuries like OP says I hope the entire McBeane staff gets fired immediately.
  15. First of all, I hate this. Superstitions are real. Second, I went with the Lions because it will be tough to beat them twice.
  16. It is playoff time baby. If there is a lane, take the leash off and let Allen rush 15 times for 150 yards if that is what it takes on Sunday. I think Allens success (or lack there of) in the run game will be the difference maker if Denver is hell bent on playing man.
  17. He had a rough go yesterday, which was frustrating since it was the Patriots. I will throw a hail mary and hope that Micah Hyde makes a resurgence at some point because both Bishop and Hamlin scare me starting right now.
  18. I was impressed by Milton yesterday. I know they were scrubs, but the kid can sling it. He made some wow throws into tight coverage. There was an Allen throw where he rolled out right, pressed the sideline and delivered a strike to a WR who had a DB draped all over him.
  19. Not to derail the thread, but Tua is really bad for the league. He is clearly at major risk of something catastrophic happening to him. And if it does the league is going to run into a host of lawsuits and become extremely costly to insure.
  20. It is no longer 3 points these days. Depending on the match up it is 1.5 to 2.
  21. I really wish that teams weren't allowed to interview playoff team staff during the playoffs. I absolutely hate that they're taking hours out of their day to prep and interview mid week.
  22. He was meh yesterday. I got called into work yesterday so didn't watch as closely as I normally would. But y big take away was that he wasn't put in great situations to succeed. I certainly would have like him to hall one or two of those in. There was one pass on I believe a crosser I wish he would have pulled in. But other than that the rest were basically hail mary balls. But I was also impressed he was able to bring in that sideline ball he had no business catching. But Mitch pushed it too far out of bounds.
  23. I didn’t realize AVP had gotten so big. Sheesh. I got whiplash.
  24. Kind of the opposite of the Mario Williams thread, I was hoping we would keep this one under 10 pages with the 2 seed locked up and all.
  25. My big (and only) kick back is that while Brady seems to be a blooming OC and play caller, being the HC/CEO is a totally different job that requires a totally different skill set. I’m not confident hes been around long enough to develop a leadership skill set strong enough to be in charge of 50+ elite athletes, another 50+ support staff, and a billionaire boss. For every Kyle Shanahan or Sean McVay there are dozens of Wade Philips, Leslie Fraziers, etc.
