It is worth noting that this is only the case because this year is the 5th year option for Edmunds. In most cases there is dead money when you trade a player.
-
But why?

Bills have major needs at DE. AJE has not proven to be a starter in this league. He was 4th in snap count, but Efe only played in 10 games vs. AJE 14. I think Shaq is an upgrade. A major one. I am very uncomfortable with AJE even being considered as a starter on this DL. Basham saw most of his playing time playing inside on passing downs. I don't recall him ever getting meaningful time on the edge.

Doesn’t care about a guy on the internet? Something tells me that given the opportunity, Neon would love nothing more than to beat you so bad in a foot race missing his big toe, that your great great grand kids are still crying.
-
Some people know no end when it comes to keeping Rex Ryan at bay. But honestly, I feel for the guy. He basically made his career with his feet. As much as this situation would suck for any of us, it’s got to hit DS quite a bit harder.

I have taken a pretty frugal approach to this offseason. But I would mortgage a lot fo the future to land Wagner and Jones in the same offseason.

Chandler Jones, Jordan Davis, DK Metcalfe, maybe Gronk

I just pulled from spotrac. There is some fluctuation for sure. -

Here is my biggest problem with your post. You speak in ambiguities. Like we are quibbling between the difference in understanding between "to have a shot" and "no chance". What you didn't lay out is how we get it done, and what the cost is. Where do we get the money from Chandler Jones and Gronk? What players do we flat out cut to make room? Who do we restructure, and what casualties are you willing to take from the 2023 roster? Buffalo is estimated at $40M under the cap next season, We will end up eating some of that just to get through the 2022 draft. Think about that. Just to be allowed to sign rookies, we have to cut, restructure, and borrow against next years money. So when you say trade a 1st for DK, I assume you mean an extension as well. The market was just reset today at $20M AAV. Just to make that move alone, and get through the draft, the Bills are down to $15M for 2023. To grab Jones and Gronk we will drop drop current players, and borrow against next years money. Which means we most likely don't re-sign a combination of Knox, Singletary, Oliver, Poyer, Jackson. Dane Jackson is actually a big one because in your scenario we most certainly cannot afford Wallace. Which is fine, but we cannot cut bait with all of our DB depth. Especially if there is a good chance we walk from Poyer. Which again, in your situation, becomes a likely casualty. Interesting you are big on this when you are so pro Edmunds sticking around because we couldn't afford. -
Right, he could be. But I have no interest in paying the dude $20M. A few Seattle friends of mine get frustrated with him for taking plays off. We have other guys to re-sign next season. I don't like a first for a rental, and I don't like keeping him at $20M per season. The Bills are estimated at $40M in cap space in 2023. To just get through the draft we are going to have to borrow against that number, let along FA's. I don't have any interest in the Bills eating up half of that or more on DK flippantly.

McKenzie getting $12M per confirmed.

I have talked to some friends who are Seahawks fans. He has a bad rap for taking plays off. I would love to have him. But a first is way too rich for me. I also have little interest in $20M per after this season.

2022 is his last. Nobody is giving a first straight up without a contingency for an extension. -
What? He has 1 year left and would require a possible $20M AAV extension to stay. A first would be HIGHLY conditional on an extension AND performance in 2022.

Here me out, it is all doable. First I ask my girlfriend for a threesome. Then I follow Jennifer Lawrence on instagram. After that, I do what it takes to get Scarlett Johansen involved. When this all goes down, I make sure that I package all of my assets to make sure that all of this happens on DiCaprio's mega yacht.....- 79 replies

I really like Stafford, but.... At this point in his career, $40-45M? He just isn't that guy. The list of guys in the NFL today worth $45M per based on a $208M salary cap is very short. Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers. Those are the only guys I don't hesitate with. I have Herbert and Burrow as a coin flip as to whether you gambled that kind money this early.

I LOVE going to games. The Ralph is my church, but…. At this point the product is better on TV. I see much more football. I have been getting really annoyed networks are showing less and less replays of penalties. But our AV team at home games sucks at that too.

Bills get the Ramsey and Donald. Our new home will be “Los Angeles Field at St Louis Rams Stadium” League doesn’t have to pay back the city of STL. Source: Kim Pegula’s MS Paint presentation on MySpace. Something, something. Ground up and in the freezer.

Bills interested in signing Rob Gronkowski, per Tim Graham

This is the type of deal I’d make in Madden. 2 years. Relatively cheap. Then that keeps Knox’s production low, which makes his long term extension SUPER cheap. Trade Gronk in year two. Beane is a wizard! -
Tell ya what, the "Rosen One" wouldn't be acting this way. AZ will rue the day!

In terms of immediate impact, that’s fair.

Kareem Hunt: Cut candidate. Possible 2022 Bill?
Mango replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall
I will never understand the Jim Kelly infatuation outside of football. The guy treated this town like trash unless he needed something. Even through the late 90’s and early aughts I knew people who were screamed and sworn at gas stations asking for autographs with their 8 year olds. -

My thing with the whole incident was WTF would he have done to her if there weren’t a bunch a people around trying to hold him back. The dude breaks tackles for a living and has 5 or 6 guys struggling to keep him from getting to her. He got her to see stars with a bunch of people trying to stop it. Less concerned about what didn’t happen, and really of afraid of what didn’t. Pass on this guy. I think Tyreek is a garbage human and I am glad he is not on my team. I don’t need choir boys but you can’t be a POS. This. -
No data to actually back this up, but I don't think we are a very good man defense. But I also don't think man is the answer, but it is part of it. We just don't have a lot of "thumpers" anywhere on the field. I think man defenses generally play more physical. So I get where the thought was going. Our LB's style are far too reliant on our DL. And our DL belongs in the hall of "meh". We could solve the defense by shifting philosophies in different position groups. But ultimately I don't see us changing our coverage style.
