All it has is the Russ factor. Once the Seahawks blow and/ or the Broncos are “meh”. Then the match up becomes unraveled as a draw for…well…anybody.

Official: Bills at Rams on TNF Sept. 8th will kick off 2022 season!

I wish they did the SB rings post game. Especially this one. A game that was almost the actual Super Bowl 3 months ago. Enjoy your Bull shirt rings guys. -
Honestly, that is about the only week anybody will care about a Broncos/Seahawks matchup. Nobody tunes into that game week 9.
-
Buffalo @ Rams feels way more compelling than Broncos/Seahawks and about even with KC/TB. The Seahawks were 7-10 with Rus last year and now they have Drew Lock. I get he was traded, but this seems like a game I have next to zero interest in unless it is early in the season...and even then....

You have no less than 4 months from a complete schedule release to the opening kick off of the NFL season. Your booking window only increases if you have no intentions of going to week 1. Airbnb and Southwest give free cancellations as long as you are a week or more out from your travel/stay. If you have a CC associated with a hotel and/or an airline most will allow for free cancellations too. I just sort of read this as "I cannot go to Kansas City in October because you didn't tell me until May", which seems wild to me and cannot be a scalable complaint. There is more than ample time to schedule a long weekend without any real financial commitment.

Beleive in what? It’s as wild as AJE becoming great.

The NFL has been running double headers for a while now. I read they noticed they were losing viewership on the second games because the east coast was going to bed. So they are trying to get people locked in for Buffalo v Ten then get those people to keep watching the Minnesota game. I don't know if it will work, but it makes a ton of sense. Buffalo Tennessee will be the game of the week most likely. If they can keep the audience around for another hour that is a big win for the league. Also, the NFL is in the click game. All 365 days are planned to keep people engaged with the league. They are creating interest by giving sporadic and exciting information. They won't release the opening game of the year early because that game is the headliner for the entire schedule release. Buffalo v. Tennessee in primetime is a match up people will start to talk about without taking away from the excitement of their whole NFL Network Schedule release show.

The Bills could open up the entire season, could play on Thanksgiving, and CBS chose Buffalo as its only protected game of the year and you’re wondering where the respect is? They basically have the broadcast triple crown. I was listening to NFLR the other day and they had the exact opposite take in general as you, and most certainly about the TEN MNF game. It was basically “Buffalo has arrived” and “why schedule another game when Buffalo is on. Everybody will be watching Allen take on the Titans”.

I have a 2nd Bills schedule inside rumor/tip (UPDATE: NOW CONFIRMED!)

To your first point, why would BUF @LAR leak before the Cardinals or the 49ers? -
Thanks for the great content. What a welcome addition.

A buddy of mine was on the flight home with him from Miami. The guy flew coach on Jet Blue. A man of the people!

This made me chuckle because Epenesa sort of reminded me of a poor mans Chris Kelsay coming out of the draft. As a player he feels pretty bland. Kind of like Anne from Arrested development.

We are in a tough spot with Poyer. We have something like 30 contracts expiring after the season and 6 of them are starters. Estimates are next years cap is $225M and the Bills only have $9M in space before rookie contracts. We should get some cap relief after the 2023 season, but we may have some casualties to navigate it. Think this is where trading Edmunds becomes the most beneficial. Sure having $12M available now is great. But if we can also roll that over to next year. Trading Edmunds now could tie down Knox and Poyer next offseason. Otherwise I would like to not risk the change on what we are all hoping is a special season.

If the Bills took a WR in the top 100 I was hoping it would be Skyy Moore in the 3rd. Otherwise I am not sure the Chiefs had a particularly great draft. At least not compared to the Jets who have had a great 2 days. It feels like the Bills have had an unfortunate draft for lack of a better term. I really like Elam. Cook is fine just feels a round too early. I think their board was smoked at the end of the second. A lot of that is circumstantial but there is a part where you have to be prepared for that to happen. EDIT: Had not looked at today yet. But I do like the Shakir pick.

How many 6th do you think we could get for Edmunds? -

He might turn out to be the most talented pass catching RB that we healthy scratch every Sunday. -
Josh Allen at the Sabres game with Kaiir Elam

I saw that and scrolled through his insta earlier. I think he’s going to become a fan favorite. I don’t know how anybody doesn’t love this guy and I think he’s going to like it here. Dude immediately asked Terry to put the playbook on the plane. -

Maybe Beane just hates Stevie Johnson. He will do anything to keep Whaley guys away from this team. -

I think Skyy Moore was in play if he was there. Depends on how the rest of the draft would have fallen. I didn’t think Dean was in play, but I’m starting to think we could go that route if he is there. -
We have Davis for 2 more years. He doesn't need a new contract until 2024 where estimates are the cap will exceed $250M. The Bills only have $180M in contracts for the 2024 league year. It is possible to sign Davis without any issues if they choose to do so. After the upcoming offseason where we have a ton of contracts expiring and little space, the 2024 league year is manageable. We are having immediate discussions about losing our MLB and SS after this season. There are serious needs at guard in the next year. Unless the Bills absolutely love an outside WR in the second, I would much prefer to go after positions that will take more immediate starting roles. Guys that you are planning to to start in 3 years can be taken in later rounds and groomed. FA After 2022 Edmunds Poyer J.Philips Lawson Knox Dane Jackson Saffold Keenum Matakevich Singletary OJ Howard Ford Crowder Andre Smith D.Johnson T.Jones Queensbury Sweeney Mancz Boetteger Kumerow Lee J.Johnson Lewis Barkley Gilliam Ankou Dodson FA- After 2023 Bass Oliver Hyde Settle J. Jones McKenzie AJE Moss B. Bryant Gentry Love McCloud

Right, I get that, to an extent. But I also look at second round picks as projected or expected starters. We are locked into Diggs for eternity and one would hope we extend Davis as part of the corp. Crowder is a fine stop gap for cheap. I can get behind drafting a WR in the second for sure even on the outside. But from a roster and draft value point of view it feels like either Sky Moore or get a somebody who is prepping to start in 2023 if we let Edmunds walk or don't/can't extend Poyer. Don't underestimate the importance of a punter either....
-
I absolutely HATE our WR depth. But I really like our starters. I don't exactly understand where a 2nd round rookie fits in? Somebody through out Emmanuel Sanders coming back at a vet minimum. That might be preferabe? Unsure. But I think I wouldn't hate adding Sanders for super cheap and addressing other position groups that might actually be a prominent starter in 2023.

And a 3rd from TN

I agree to an extent. But that changes a bit when it’s in your division. When the Chargers or Jags get better it doesn’t matter because we play them every few years.
