  1. I don’t think it was a lie. I think Beane actually wants to give him space to manage his legal issues. I get the sense Beane is only releasing Matt because of public perception. McD is the only one in the org who has talked about how horrific this could be. McD seemed legitimately shook the other night. I’d imagine having daughters makes this one difficult for him.
  2. Theres an assumption by posters that the news article is the first they’re hearing of this. I could be wrong, but I cannot imagine that the girls attorney made no mention of police reports, pictures, rape kits, time lines. The Bills attorney spoke with him. Everything in the LAT article would have been discussed with the team.
  3. I keep coming back to the repetition of “this is what is best for Matt”.
  4. To be clear, when he says this it means that the coaching staff at SDSU did not mention it to them at all. Students on campus across the athletic department knew about it. Coaches had to know about it. So they either totally omitted it in conversations or nobody spoke to them.
  5. Really glad Brandon Beane did what was best for Matt Araiza tonight….
  6. He has a pending/open criminal investigation for rape in which he is named a suspect. In the interest of accuracy.
  7. I took noticed of this too. It really rubbed me the wrong way.
  8. I took Beane as being in his corner and McD as not. Beane could have said “If Matt is innocent he needs time to manage this. If Matt is guilty he can’t be apart of this organization”. But everything Beane said was about how MA needed time and space.
  9. I get the sense that BB was on the wait it out side. “He needs time to manage this situation” But McD was on the “these are serious accusations and we are empathetic of the victim” The ladies in the house are not happy with Bean at the moment and appreciated McD interjecting.
  10. 72 hours ago I was counting down the days until kick off. Today not so much. I feel a bit dirty as a fan stills
  11. And if you’re not in the 1% of rape victims that see a conviction, BB doesn’t give a poop about you.
  12. From the sounds of it Bean very much did. He didn’t seem empathetic at all.
  13. The rape kit has yet to be processed. This happens a lot in the US. There are 200k unprocessed rape kits in the US. Think about that for a minute.
  14. I get the sense that BB was on the wait it out side. “He needs time to manage this situation” But McD was on the “these are serious accusations and we are empathetic of the victim” The ladies in the house are not happy with Bean at the moment and appreciated McD interjecting.
  15. This feels like a much more serious Eric Wood non-retirement press conference. It’s a good reminder that this FO and PR team is certainly fallible. They’ve botched some of these legal/PR issues before.
  16. It’s been like 36 hours and this is page 241 of this thread. Likely the longest thread in the history of this site. The Bills are the lead story on nearly every (sports) news org in the country. They are either thoroughly unprepared. Or they’ve botched the entire thing. Probably a little bit of both.
  17. I think you’re over complicating it. The Bills gave them approval to report that he isn't practicing. Him being on the roster was already reported. Sal is just piecing the two bits together. He doesn’t say “they told us to report he is on the roster but isn’t practicing”. I understand the confusion. But I really don’t think that’s the intent.
  18. We had a similar (but different) situation at our UK office a year or two ago. It was just a single sales rep with a law suit and made national new in the UK. Our COO quickly got in front of the public with statements and articles. And we are a company with much more revenue/value than the Bills and have much less notoriety and smaller headlines. Not a great look from Terry. Tangentially. Is Kim OK?
  19. The roster gets released daily before practice. Part of submitting an injury report. The Bills already released the roster for today about an hour before practice. They proactively let reporters know Araiza wouldn’t be at practice today.
  20. They do have more access. The NFL and teams hire LEO professionals to vet all their players pre draft. Pat MacAfee said as much the other day and flat out said “they knew”. Rob Maadi asked 5 FO’s. 3 said they didn’t know. 2 said they did. The two that didn’t said it didn’t effect their draft status because they weren’t going to draft a punter anyways. Are we supposed to believe that the people who weren’t drafting a punter had access. But the team that drafted him didn’t? I don’t buy it. For years we’ve heard stories of prospects talk about how surprised they were at what teams knew about them in their pre draft interviews. The Bills knew. If they didn’t know, they didn’t do their due diligence.
  21. Her intentions are irrelevant. She can intend to go out and get laid without getting raped. I was a huge slut until I was about 30. I guess I reap what I sow if I got raped. The problem is not the girl. It is the rapists. Full stop.
  22. I have been saying the same thing. That NFL teams hire high end LEO as well as the league. There is no way they didn’t know.
  23. Its a football internet message board, we are all making assumptions. The entire premise is assumption. haha. None of us actually know Edmunds responsibility on a play, coverage assignments for a DB, or what a WR should have seen and what their reaction should be. But we still get 35 post game threads and hundreds of responses.
  24. @Kirby Jackson makes some great points I generally agree with. Also, really glad you’ve been back lately Kirby! But I understand that becomes a nightmare for you and @Simon who seems to be working overtime on this thread specifically. It’s certainly nuanced. I appreciate your efforts. Most important player on the field. 😂
  25. Look at this guy, trading JA17 for prime Ray Guy.
