At the risk of being pedantic. I think they need a leap from AJE. I think he’s way off pace of both needed and expected performance.
Rousseau would do nicely to just consistently get better.
Well that isn't the way the NFL has ever worked...but OK...
Poyer will be paid based on his performance compared to his peers. If he plays like one of the best safeties in the league again, he will be paid in the same range as one of the best safeties in the league. Maybe he doesn't get 5 years, he gets 2 or 3. Maybe a couple bucks get taken off.
But to say another safety getting paid doesn't have anything to do with our safety getting paid is absurd.
Totally guessing, but I’m thinking Beasley was searching a trade because he was asked to take a paycut and said no.
It is possible he stays. I might even put it at 50/50. But the odds of him staying at his current contract are probably slim. And honestly, if I am the Bills, I most certainly lower my original contract offer.
The Bills want Bradley’s number lower or gone. He’ll take a paycut here or he’ll play somewhere else.
I really like this. I am much more excited about this than I am Saffold.
Hoping we are talking next off season on how to save money by extending him early.
Right. That is sort of what I got. I get we have to run the ball better. But if I have to choose between the pass blocker or the run blocker, and I pay my QB $45M+, I’m taking the pass blocker.
I know we didn’t like the Williams contract. But 12th highest paid OG in the league is trending towards average and we got that production out of him.
My initial thought is I would have preferred to maybe extend Williams and up his guaranteed money to lower his cap hit rather than pay a premium for Saffold.
There’s also a strong possibility I am an idiot. So who can really say who is right and who isn’t?
Admittedly I am not an OL wonk like some of the others around here, but I get the impression he isn’t the same guy anymore.
Hoping this isn’t big money.
Anybody smarter than me have any insights?
I get it. I think he has done enough to get a shot though. I don't think the risk of not getting a vet there is paramount when weighted against the cost.
Honestly, I like our core group at WR. Diggs, Davis, McKenzie. I don't love Landry the human. I would prefer to use that money on starting OL, LB, or DE.
Meh, 12th highest paid is hovering around average. We got decent production from him. I get we didn’t love the contract. But it wasn’t terrible either.
After next season Cousins will have made just about a quarter billion dollars. $250 Million.
The NFL: “State and local governments, can you help fund a $1.5B stadium”
Also the NFL: “We value Kirk Cousins as a reasonable investment of 1/4B dollars”
