  1. it feels like more and more people are dying way too young and for a million different reasons. Sort of scary.
  2. Right, I get that they can't because of the rules. And I understand that the decals are vinyl. I can get a white Honda Civic wrapped in red. Why can't I get a white Riddell helmet wrapped the same? It is certainly possible to do so.
  3. How long before WGR spend an entire day on a "chips draft" where they dedicate a full hour to whether or not they can count pretzels and whether or not dips are allowed to be taken into consideration?
  4. I totally get the NFL not wanting players to have multiple helmets. And I totally get players liking to wear the same single helmet. What I don't get is why the rule has been in place for so long and why they added a second helmet. We have been wrapping cars now for a while, can they not wrap a a helmet?
  5. Not hugely surprising these guys don't dive into craft beer at all. If you love Miller Light, Coors Light, etc. this list is right on point for how extensive your pallet is. But lets be real here. Doritos are clearly the premium chip and the only Doritos flavor on the list is cool Ranch? One, two, and three should be Spicy Sweet Chili, Spicy Nacho, and classic Nacho Cheese. I can no longer trust anything these guys have to say about anything not related to football. Also Lewan is a trash human.
  6. Ben only getting 6 games and not being booted from the league entirely still makes me feel dirty. What a terrible human.

  8. While I hope that is true, she pulled out of Rothesay without any statement. She is on the entry but the draw isn't out for Wimbledon so we don't really know. Since she didn't play this last tournament without notice or statement I wouldn't be shocked if she did the same for Wimbledon; especially given the messaging from the family a week or so ago. The statement from the Pegula's came pretty close to Serena's last minute WC bid. I speculated that that was because Jessica probably gave notice that she may not be playing in Wimbledon and that Serena was possibly taking her spot. The family was getting ahead of any news that might have made. She is the 8th ranked player in the world now so there is a chance it may have drawn attention, otherwise we may never have heard a word from the Pegula's until they came out the other end. That said there hasn't been anything indicating one way or the other. If the shoe was on the other foot and I were in a hospital bed, I would want my daughter at Wembley this week. But that is me, and I certainly don't think every family should prescribe to that line of thinking. Just pointing out that Jessica's attendance or lack there of probably isn't a great indicator. Luckily it is not a decision I have ever had to deal with. Continued good vibes to the Pegula's through all of this.
  9. This is a huge leap. I didn't say any of those things. I bolded one comment where you said "Most "medical consumers" know exactly what they are paying for". I said that isn't true at all. Most Americans don't know. Something like 30% of all Americans under 50 don't even have a PCP. And it gets worse as they get younger. Why would they know the cost of care before receiving it? The fact of the matter is most Americans are only seeing their doctors when absolutely necessary. Hell, 60% of us are living paycheck to paycheck. I quite literally laid out examples of not knowing how much time I would be given or if I would see the Dr. I scheduled my appointment with. that isn't knowing what I was paying for....I had a blood draw in office from a doctor and got a bill in the mail for $2k after insurance covered $3k for it. Didn't know any of that was going to be a part of my visit that day. I really dislike the term "medical consumers" rather than patients. I am not buying a Honda. I am trying to manage my quality of life. I am privileged enough to be able to shop my medical care around and leave my local hospital group to go to Cleveland Clinic and Mount Sinai. But most people in my region absolutely cannot do that. And a term like "medical consumer" only makes it seem like they are some how responsible in that.
  10. Rim Job Reach Around? (who am I kidding, the league didn't have the decency to give a reach around)
  11. No they don't. That isn't even a little true. As somebody who as been chasing some unidentified health issues the last 2 years this is not even close to true. I have had some specialists who spend 15 minutes with me and others who spend an hour. I have had some appointment where I schedule with the doctor and only seen their fellow or PA. I have almost no idea what my testing is going to cost and what my insurance will cover until I receive a bill in the mail.
  12. First, good vibes for Kim! Pure speculation, but this has been going on for a few days without an announcement per their statement. Serena received a wild card for Wimbledon today, wondering if they are trying to get something out to the public out ahead of Jessica pulling out of The Championship? Really hoping she is on the mend back to her healthy self and Jessica's recent world ranking success was the reason to release something to the public before she officially pulled out of Wimbledon. In a few days she is scheduled to play Rothesay as a warm up as well.
  13. Both are true, sure. But I don't think he came off as egotistical in his letter at all. Everything is super fair and not filled with emotions. Boselli is a weird admittance to the HoF. I don't get it.
  14. Miller and Bass yes. Dawkins? Maybe? One thing I always go back and forth on is that top 10 or 15 sounds awesome a lot of times. But also, in a lot of spots it basically only means top half or top third. Which in a class of 32 isn’t suuuuppper great.
  15. 3 year suspension. Just in time for his cap number to screw them over once they finally get their first round picks back. I have heard his contract is pretty iron clad against any suspensions. So I don't know why he would ever restructure.
  16. Honestly the only thing I think you could do at that situation is concede defeat and trade off every single salary and good player and commit to nothing but the draft for the next 5 years. You have to load up on as many picks as possible to make up for your crap salary cap and no first round picks.
  17. Oh man. That’s a great point. I guess it would be awesome to see Baker keeping holding out and Watson make it though all of training camp and after preseason game comes an indefinite suspension.
  18. Hypothetically? Come on here to beach and moan about the front office being a bunch of idiots and how we as an org deserve every single piece of criticism and punishment we get. I am unsure if I’d go as far as I would have for Big Ben. I would have certainly turned in my fan card if I were from Pittsburgh. What a vile human.
  19. I read something on her a few weeks ago where she was described as very average but one of the most consistently average players in the world. I thought it was funny phrasing. She doesn't really do anything great, she isn't great, but she never whiffs an entire tournament either. She sort of always beats who she is supposed to and always loses to who she is supposed to. Hit that groove for the right stretch and you can find yourself pretty high in the rankings.
  20. I don’t know why anybody would want to go to the Cowboys. They aren’t good. They aren’t well coached. They aren’t well managed. I don’t get the hype. It’s absurd. I wish they’d fall into obscurity like a normal mediocre team like the Vikings. I think I hate them more than any other team in the league.
  21. I played roller hockey on them in the spring summer and fall too. Even more when streets stopped being paved with the smooth tar and everything moved to asphalt.
  22. Dude, I have been looking for the McD hat forever. I want one bad. I can’t even find it plain on the the new era site.
  23. But she is playing with her parents money. And tennis most certainly has a minimum cost for entry let along longevity if you aren’t a top 10 player in the world. A huge part of Jessica’s late surge in rankings are a lot of players would have dropped out by now because they can’t afford to fly all over the world to try and maybe get some prize money. To be middle class and stick around tennis you quite literally have to be the best in the world with parents willing to risk their entire families. Look at the Williams or Agassi. Great stories, but a hell of gamble nobody should really be taking. I don’t mean to hate on her. Good for her. But it seems people have gone out of there way to talk about her gifts. Her greatest gift today in tennis is her parents bank account. There’s no way that any normal family could have funded Jessica through this. Trips to France, Japan, etc. all while being the 100th ranked player in the world with basically zero career earnings. Congrats to Jessica and her ability to have enough financial stability to outlast her peers.
  24. It’s not just the cost of coaches. The cost of admission is really high up front. Sure there’s a few feel good stories. But those are anomalies. Most of tennis comes from money. There’s certainly physiology to it as well. But her ranking is largely based on longevity and affluence. Like in 2010, her career earnings were $600. 2011 $10k. All the while she is having her coach and world travel paid for. Along with out of pocket helath insurance and physio. Sure she’s good, but tennis isn’t a sport anybody can just “skill” their way to the top. Tennis players can peak later, but if you’re not earning you get off the circuit. Tennis is closer to F1 than it is basketball or football.
