Is Christian Benford better than Wallace?
Mango replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like Benford (and Elam). But it is waaaay too soon to make that judgement. I liked Wallace. But he was a guy I always wanted upgraded. But league wide, more often than not upgrading from a guy like Wallace as CB2 is easier said than done. That said, I think Dane Jackson is an upgrade and is going to be a player in this league. I am really high on Jackson. The noise from drafting a guy in the first and the dark horse Benford is really muffling how important Jackson's play has been. He is head and shoulders better than both rookies currently, and only has 22 NFL games (10 starts). -
Hoping Tre is back week 6 for KC. Play a side, the defense has been redlining the last two weeks. Remember when your friend who swore by adderall in college found cocaine? This is that but football.

NFL Week #2 9/18/2022 - Post Game Thread - Titans at Bills
Mango replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dude. It was wild! I didn't put much down, so I am not going to pretend I am some crazy gambler rolling in dough. I was visiting with my grandfather and we were just sort of messing around. It paid out 9-1, so we will get a nice dinner. But it isn't like I am risking anything real. I try and find something I feel good about (and reasonable) outside of the Bills to keep me engaged. Then I will take some stupid prop bet on the Bills. More often than not my dumb bet and my smart bet cancel each other out. I don't make $400k per year. -

We don't. But if we never line up behind center unless its to run/pick up short to mid yardage, we don't give ourselves much of a chance. As with anything it is one of the drawbacks of the way we run our high powered offense. I guess we could be more like Tennessee.....hahaha -

My guess from my idiot brain is that it is because of how much we line up in shotgun. It puts our RB's at a disadvantage for those grind it out yards because they take the ball flat footed. Which means defenses can rush without worrying too much about the RB. -
Davis…

I had the same exact thought. Also watching the replay felt a lot like me playing Madden. As soon as Herbert threw it he charged the DB. He knew it was a bad decision before it left his hands.

LAC just isn’t ready yet. They’re last years Bills; but maybe a little better or the late season version. They can go really far this season if they put it all together week after week. Nobody wants to see play them. They’re beatable. But if you don’t bring your A game and/or they show up hot, they’ll beat the crap out of you. KC has Mahomes, and they’re the better team right now. LAC has certainly been disruptive. But probably more opportunistic than they have actually “been better” tonight.
-
Don’t mind me. I’m the resident idiot.

A lot of people ripping on Asante Samuels. Isn’t he like 100 in NFL years? This doesn’t feel like failing. This feels like a rebirth. He’s the Benjamin Button of CB’s.
-
KC feels like the better team who can’t get in a groove against an opportunistic and disruptive LAC team. The Chargers are last years late season Bills. They haven’t “arrived” yet. But if they get hot at the end of the season they’re going to be a problem for everybody.
-
I think they are better than last year and Tyreek gives us some issues. Thorn means annoyance. It doesn't mean I think they're likely to beat us. I have way spicier takes than "Miami is going to be an annoying team to play".
-
Unpopular opinion, I am over the Kyle Brandt schtick. It is over played and he does all the time for every team and player, even when stuff isn't all that exciting. I don't think he is wrong, and I like the weekly angry run award. But the whole thing is just so forced at this point. Even if it were a toss up this week between Josh and somebody else, they'd likely pick Josh anyways with the kick off for Brandt's basement and Josh becoming a Tuesday regular. The whole thing is a poor mans PMT or Pat Mcafee/Aaron Rodgers mixed with way too much WWF promo theatrics.

I think Miami is a going to be a thorn in our side this year. After the whooping KC put on a hyped Arizona team, it feels like we are on another collision course with them for the AFCCG.

A lot of talk about the Bills doing this to “keep him quiet” or “knowing he’s leaving”. The Bills may or may not re-sign Poyer. But make no bones about this, the Bills are doing this because they want to try and keep him. They are willing to lose $2M this year even if he doesn’t. But it’s certainly not paying $2M just to make Poyer shut up. They’re doing their best to keep him. Full stop.

What games are you interested to watch this weekend?
Mango replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have a couple bucks on Carolina, Vegas, and Philly to cover. Then obviously Tennessee and Miami/New England. -
My biggest concern with Elam is that Dane Jackson is a player. I think in year two he is already better than Levi Wallace and is a guy the Bills should plan on extending. I mean no disrespect to Elams game, but it feels like in that case it could be a wasted first who spends the next 4 years being CB3 behind Jackson and Tre. Really high on Jackson last night.
-
I got that. I was more taking the opportunity to talk about how great Jackson was tonight. I did notice Stafford barely threw towards Elam when he was in. Something to Keenan eye on. TBD’s favorite whipping boy, Tremaine Edmunds, was a stud today. I’ve been hard on him. But he played really well tonight.
-
I was actually super impressed with Dane Jackson. A guy I liked last year, and he exceeded what I thought he’d do tonight. I thought Taron and Benford were OK. Certainly not Benford island. Dane was targeted a total of maybe 3 times and one was an INT. I think we have a real player in Dane. Can’t wait for Tre to be 100%.
