Surely weather did not help, tough to get an accurate read on why he had a bad go of it Sunday. I noticed Brown getting pretty early in the game. I assumed he was benched. Guys went down for the heat, but I "think" that Spencer might be the only one that went down for the heat and never returned. I could be wrong on that though.

They're one of two undefeated teams. It is what it is. Everything will regress to the mean.

I would argue that because of his size and his running style Josh takes significantly more abuse than Lamar. We rarely see Josh get lit up. But not that long ago we saw Josh get wishboned and thrown to the ground. Lamar does a good job of avoiding contact where Josh in some instances welcomes it.

Bigger, faster, stronger to start. But also, I think less time in the facility is a big part of it. Less time working daily with S&C. Getting stretched out, massaged, even just kept an eye on during workouts. I’d be happy for owners to even halve padded/contact practices but get everybody in house full time on June 1. That’s a 5 month break for half the league. In a game that is trying to work on safety more practice is the only way to get guys playing with better technique consistently. WR will run better routes. DB’s will have better coverage. Players will actually develop rather than burn out.

Ah, Schitts Creek! That is something that had not occurred to me. Ugh....

Honestly, this one feels easily replaceable. We need depth and people who can play given all the issues we are having across the board. But I feel like if pro personnel has been doing their job we can get somebody off of a PS to get up to speed.

Yeah, it will add some urgency going forward. But honestly, even if this team plays 3 rounds of playoffs on the road, I think they can handle any team by double digits when healthy.

Kumerow has had a great start to the season. He has made some plays in spot duty. Already more productive than all of last year. But I think this is likely a great opportunity for Hodgins to get some reps which I am excited about. I don't want guys limping through our season starting at week 3/4. Give the starters the time they need to get to 100% and lets roll!

Time for Beane to "break glass in case of emergency"?
Mango replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well this is a dumb... We lost by 2 and we had something like 14 starters go out at one point or another during this game. We are going to get Morse, Poyer, Tre, Jackson, Oliver, and Philips back. How can you not be amped going forward?! -
I will give repeating myself a go. Haha. Weather didn't cost us a game. I don't care about any of it. Shade v no shade. I don't care about the altitude in Denver. It is all fine. The one thing I do take issue with is that teams can't use reasonable tools that are normally available to help navigate the game. Using Denver as an example, everybody is using O2. What if it is 5 degrees out and the new stadium is built on a hot spring, but it only warms the Bills sideline? Under current rules visitors couldn't use a heated bench. As a Buffalo fan I would say that is a BS homefield advantage. It is a rule I didn't know or care that much about before my team was effected by it. I won't deny that. But I also think there is a very real need to change the rules. The equity rule should likely only be for in game communication and technology and the NFL should have an "always available" list for sideline equipment that includes heated/cooling benches, heaters, fans, misters and oxygen.
-
Totally agreed. That is be my entire gripe. I don’t mind the sun or temperature change. But teams should be allowed to try and navigate it. Inversely, could you imagine if the Bills layered up on a cold day and the opposing team had no jackets or heated benches. Being in the cold is the home field advantage; not the ability to get warm.

Is the Bills approach to injuries too conservative?
Mango replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills had a total of 15 players not dress or leave the game for injury yesterday. The Dolphins only won by 2. If anything I think it shows how important it is for us to be healthy late in the year. The Dolphins barely squeaked by a second string NFL team. Do whatever it takes to get 100% healthy in January and roll from there. If the Bills are healthy against Miami in December I am likely to take whatever is in my Fanduel account and put it on 2x the spread. -
The Bills lost yesterday because.... (karma reasons only)
Mango replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was off all week on all my takes. Every prediction for injury was wrong. Every.Single.One After the "hopener" I said to my GF, "I don't like any bets across the league next week, let alone the Bills". I bet the over and the money line a few days later. Almost look KC -5.5, thankfully didn't. I was off all week. -
Any word on Benford? Not great that he was in a club post game. Hoping to get Poyer back to help will be good. But we could be looking at starting CB4 and CB5 this game, which is wild.
-
I generally agree and at large it doesn’t bother me. But a 30 degree temperature advantage where away team is at 112 degrees in the sun and the rules say no cooling fans/benches is wild. Most games aren’t as dangerous as it was yesterday. There has to be a league rule in the hot or cold so that when things are dangerous teams can at least have safety measures like fans.

NFL Week #3 - Bills at the Dolphins - Post game thread
Mango replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Miami sideline can be 30 degrees cooler than the visitors sideline. Some said above that Eric Wood reported 112 on field. That means the Miami sideline is a shady 82. I would certainly put injuries at the top of the list of reasons we lost. But this game is the exact reason the Hard Rock is built like it is. -

I think you are basically allowed what the other team has. So I know they made mention of Buffalo bringing cooling benches. But if Miami doesn’t use them on our sideline, the way I understand it is we cannot use them on ours. Same with fans, etc. I believe the canopies are allowed because of the shade vs. no shade on either side. I could be wrong, I’m just going off of what a buddy of mine who is a Dolphins fan told me. -

A healthy Bills team today wins this by a million. We had 4 new OL today and 5 new DB’s. And all 3 starting WR plus our TE were hobbled today. At some points this afternoon I was just laughing, like “how are we even in this game right now”. -
That is our team. 4-OL 2- DT 5- DB 1- QB If you count heat you can add 1- TE 3- WR

Dude, I can’t believe we almost won that game. What a clown show. If this team can get healthy there isn’t anybody in the league that can stop them and it isn’t close. I hope Miami feels great about getting out of this match up by only two points. The team was down 4 OL. 2 Starting DL. 4 staring defensive backs, and WR 1, 2, and 3 were all hobbled, still put up 500 yards and allowed only 212. I hate losing this game; but I am amped. The mission has never been clearer. Keep grinding. Get healthy. Our time will come. Look for a 40 burger next time at home.- 771 replies
