  1. Unpopular opinion, I am over the Kyle Brandt schtick. It is over played and he does all the time for every team and player, even when stuff isn't all that exciting. I don't think he is wrong, and I like the weekly angry run award. But the whole thing is just so forced at this point. Even if it were a toss up this week between Josh and somebody else, they'd likely pick Josh anyways with the kick off for Brandt's basement and Josh becoming a Tuesday regular. The whole thing is a poor mans PMT or Pat Mcafee/Aaron Rodgers mixed with way too much WWF promo theatrics.
  2. I think Miami is a going to be a thorn in our side this year. After the whooping KC put on a hyped Arizona team, it feels like we are on another collision course with them for the AFCCG.
  3. A lot of talk about the Bills doing this to “keep him quiet” or “knowing he’s leaving”. The Bills may or may not re-sign Poyer. But make no bones about this, the Bills are doing this because they want to try and keep him. They are willing to lose $2M this year even if he doesn’t. But it’s certainly not paying $2M just to make Poyer shut up. They’re doing their best to keep him. Full stop.
  4. I’ve been thinking a lot about the Poyer and recent Knox contract since Thursday. Mostly because I needed our new $13M AAV TE to catch 25 yards total on a parlay and it cost me $200. So by that standard, NFL money is meaningless.
  5. I have a couple bucks on Carolina, Vegas, and Philly to cover. Then obviously Tennessee and Miami/New England.
  6. My biggest concern with Elam is that Dane Jackson is a player. I think in year two he is already better than Levi Wallace and is a guy the Bills should plan on extending. I mean no disrespect to Elams game, but it feels like in that case it could be a wasted first who spends the next 4 years being CB3 behind Jackson and Tre. Really high on Jackson last night.
  7. I got that. I was more taking the opportunity to talk about how great Jackson was tonight. I did notice Stafford barely threw towards Elam when he was in. Something to Keenan eye on. TBD’s favorite whipping boy, Tremaine Edmunds, was a stud today. I’ve been hard on him. But he played really well tonight.
  8. I was actually super impressed with Dane Jackson. A guy I liked last year, and he exceeded what I thought he’d do tonight. I thought Taron and Benford were OK. Certainly not Benford island. Dane was targeted a total of maybe 3 times and one was an INT. I think we have a real player in Dane. Can’t wait for Tre to be 100%.
  9. Von is the difference maker. I’m listening to the post game and all he does is just talk everybody up in his presser. I’m fairly certain he could convince me I’m an NFL capable human.
  10. I hope he lives in the backyard with nothing but a hot kiln.
  11. For 792 yards and no touchdowns.
  12. That was my thought. I was surprised they didn’t include Tre. Not reading a ton into that. They probably want somebody that is scheduled to play all 17 games. I do think that teams do try and be planned though and try to avoid putting guys on any new gear/marketing campaigns if they don’t anticipate them being on the roster.
  13. You say that, but the Bills just posted this picture on their FB. It is of Edmunds, Knox, Von, Josh, Diggs, and Dawkins. Titled "The Core". https://www.facebook.com/BuffaloBills/photos/a.75862470658/10160001682250659/
  14. I was fairly confident Hodgins would not be claimed. To nobody's surprise I am an idiot.
  15. Ugh...if only Hodgins got hurt....
  16. I generally agree. But also there were some reports that he has sort of cashed it in. This might be a sign he’s ok being a career back up? I don’t know. I’m just making stuff up at this point.
  17. I literally said outside of the Browns and maybe Andy Reid. Almost every one of the 30 other orgs in the NFL let this play out until it becomes a media schyte storm. Then cuts Araiza. They had two press conferences. Your bar for excellence is quite low. Comparatively the Bills found out about this. Sat in their hands. Then cut the guy once it spun out of control. It’s what most NFL teams do. I don’t find their handling of this anything other than average when compared to a majority of their peers.
  18. C. Im grading on a bell curve. I don’t think they did anything extraordinary here. They let it play out. It became a PR nightmare. They let him go. Outside of Cleveland and maybe Andy Reid, most other teams do the same thing. Thats part of my frustration. These guys spent forever talking about community, culture, family, and that this was different. But it’s not. They behaved just like every other NFL team. The Buffalo Bills are just another NFL franchise.
  19. I think a lot of Bills fans are seeing what people (women) have been trying to say for a very long time in terms of LEO, the justice system and sexual assault. Myself as well as others have posted recently that what is described as far as LEO and the DA dragging their feet is par for the course. I’ve personally experience family who have been outright slut shamed and mocked by police in these situations.
  20. I don’t think it was a lie. I think Beane actually wants to give him space to manage his legal issues. I get the sense Beane is only releasing Matt because of public perception. McD is the only one in the org who has talked about how horrific this could be. McD seemed legitimately shook the other night. I’d imagine having daughters makes this one difficult for him.
  21. Theres an assumption by posters that the news article is the first they’re hearing of this. I could be wrong, but I cannot imagine that the girls attorney made no mention of police reports, pictures, rape kits, time lines. The Bills attorney spoke with him. Everything in the LAT article would have been discussed with the team.
  22. I keep coming back to the repetition of “this is what is best for Matt”.
  23. To be clear, when he says this it means that the coaching staff at SDSU did not mention it to them at all. Students on campus across the athletic department knew about it. Coaches had to know about it. So they either totally omitted it in conversations or nobody spoke to them.
