  1. That will likely be next year. With the cap space and 20+ expiring contracts next year I don't see how the Bills keep Jackson around for the 2023 season. But maybe I am wrong, Levi Wallace signed with Pittsburgh for cheap, but I wasn't high on Levi at all. I found him to be a frustrating player. I think there is a world where Benford moves to safety with the uncertainty around Poyer/Hyde this offseason. Then Elam develops behind Jackson/White and starts to spell both of them at CB1 and CB2 on the outside. I am hoping Tre is going through some Aaron Rodgers existential stuff. After yesterday's interview I wouldn't be floored if he is thinking about life after football.
  2. Handshakes should be the Josh Allen cognitive baseline for concussion protocol. Dr.: "Josh, Do the Van Rotten hand shake." Josh: "Hee Haw, Hee Haw" *headbutts doctor" Dr: "He is good to go coach."
  3. There have been a few "Play Elam to get him the experience" or whatever threads/comments the last few weeks it seems. Consider me triggered! Ha.
  4. I will continue to pound the table that Dane Jackson is our best CB right now, and it isn't close. He isn't just the best CB on the roster, he is playing like one of the best CB's in the league. Without hyperbole he is playing at the level of a healthy Tre White. There is no way in hell that he is losing any meaningful snaps to the rookies while White ramps back up. Opposing QB passer rating when targeted is 49. The dude has stepped up.
  5. I thought he was getting Bud Depree money. $16-18M per year. And I thought that was way too high. They’re not just giving elite money to non-QB’s. They’re giving elite money to non-elite players. I can’t wait until they give Tua too much money.
  6. What a bummer. I really like the kid. What an unlucky string of injuries his first two years. Glad he’s getting his shot on a 53. Hope he makes the best of it.
  7. Man, I really love this guy. Just an all around good human. He does seem to have of reserve to him. He isn't on the injury report, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him limited or "vet rest" tomorrow. I really liked his comments about trying to sort of learn about who Tre is outside of football and that he had never spent much time there before. I will say it did sort of give me Andrew Luck with a splash of Aaron Rodgers in the Amazon vibes.
  8. That is a wild over reaction. We were struggling in the run game and Singeltary was really struggling in pass pro early in his career. He would come in in spot duty and be "proficient" then we wouldn't see him ever again. I am not claiming he was a super star, or even great. But people aren't still making TJ Yeldon jokes about the RB position years later because a terrible football player didn't dress.
  9. Oh good call. Unsure if Spotrac isn’t updated, but they are reporting zero dead money the next two years.
  10. Man, I was just thinking that the Dolphins made this move solely for Josh Allen. How awesome would it be if they came in in December after giving up a 1st and stupid extension and Chubb got zero pressures, hits, sacks, or batted passes, but got flagged like 3 times for jumping Offside?
  11. I agree with you here. Unsure if I would leap frog the Chiefs, but I think they are sort of a tweener between KC and grouping of teams. But that doesn't have anything to do with this move. Mostly because of the below. I really think Chubb gets a Bud Dupree sized deal, that paired with the loss of a first and a likely bloated Tua deal could really cement them as a high floor low ceiling team.
  12. Or maybe he will get the Sammy Watkins/Lee Evans "decoy" treatment. Like he might not produce, but he is the reason that everything else around him happens even.
  13. I actually had this issue in Buffalo this week. I was trying to play the 1'Oclock game at my tailgate and brought my firestick. Super annoying.
  14. Is this the part where you and @1ManRaid start posting links to your linkedin?
  15. Right, I understand why people want McKenzie off the field. I am not arguing that he shouldn't. I was saying that the problem isn't that we needed an upgrade behind McKenzie. Shakir and Cook are already on the roster and not taking any meaningful snaps away from McKenzie. Hell, we just gave our TE a $15M AAV extension. For reference, in 2020 Travis Kelce was targeted, as in the ball was thrown to him, 110 times when lined up in the slot.
  16. This is where I am at. I really don't get it. And on top of that, I think they sort of forced their hand into a Bud Dupree sized extension. Chubb seemed prime for a 1-2 year prove it deal to get his head on straight, get back to form, and stay healthy. But now that the Dolphins already gave up a first for him, they'll have to extend him. The league/GM's likely had more leverage had his deal expired, this move gave all the leverage back to Chubb.
  17. I think part of the issue is we have had issues with putting together a strong run blocking OL. So we are "meh" at RB, the IOL situation makes it worse, but pass blocking has been OK. Then we enter this viscous cycle of "we gotta get a guy to give us production in the run game". I do think this move will actually increase the number of touches Singletary gets, which I am a fan of. RB's have to get into rhythm. The "take McKenzie off the field take" is grating me a little. We already think Shakir should be getting more snaps than he is getting. Cook was drafted in the 2nd partially because of his ability to line up wide. This isn't actually a void that needs filling. (That's what she said)
  18. We have such a good FO. So good. But the RB position just sort of feels like this past Miami game, just a wild comedy of errors. You can even throw in the constant benching of TJ Yeldon into the mix. Given the cost of Hines and our cap and contract expirations, I suspect ANOTHER top 100 pick spent on a RB.
  19. Put me firmly in the "meh" column. More than anything I am just annoyed at our RB roster management. For such an A+ front office, we are so wonky here. 2 x 3rds on Moss and Singletary 1x 2nd on Cook Dislike Moss. Trade him for another and more expensive version of Cook, the guy we just spent a 2nd on 2 months ago. I am guessing we lean into Singletary the rest of the year and get away from the RB by committee. Which is fine and I actually like. But given our cap constraints for 2023 and the fact that we have 20+ players with expiring contracts, Singletary isn't likely in the plans. Which means we spend another top 100 pick on a RB behind an OL that struggles with run blocking. I think this is a fairly inconsequential move but I am really frustrated by it.
  20. Wasn't part of the big value-add for Cook that he could also line up at WR?
  21. Somebody has to replace TJ Yeldon.
  22. Or until they trade a first round pick for and extend a guy like Chubb for $16.5M AAV and he has one full season in his career. Miami fans on the internet are acting like this is a Miller to the Rams type of move. I just don't see it. EDIT: My guess is, since Miami is already over invested with a 1st the pressure is on them to extend him and they pay him Bud Dupree money. Right around $16.5M AAV. Just speculation.
  23. It seems wild. A first and change for a guy that has not played a full year in 4 seasons and has averaged 5 sacks per year. That includes a 12 sack rookie season. Maybe this works out for Miami, but I wouldn't even know where to begin with compensation. They gave up a first so they need him for more than 8 games to get any "value". He just sort of screams a 1-2 year prove it deal on the cheap to get his head and game back right. I certainly wouldn't give up a first round pick for that.
  24. On one hand you are right. I would probably be more upset in the moment. But also, you are still talking about it and telling the story about an a-hole driver. Which is likely more attention than you would have given it otherwise. I think you cancel yourself out here.
