What gets fixed this post season - Offensively and Defensely
Mango replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. Keep our own 2. Do a better job of getting starters through the draft. (OL and WR) -
Clearly the staff thinks he (and Hodgins) are not better than McKenzie. The conversation is are they wrong/did they make a mistake?
-
Hodgins plays inside. We’ve struggled with inside receivers. Shakir can play inside and out. I’m constantly surprised he isn’t given more looks. For all the good stuff this staff does, they don’t do great with in game/season development.

I hope we get him more involved going forward. He’s been very QB friendly in finding soft spots and making tight catches. -

The guys been playing with a busted shoulder for like 5 weeks. And last week it was basically just a dead arm. I can’t believe the dresser him against NE. -

He hasn’t completed more than 63% of passes since the first NE match up. Today was particularly frustrating for me today because it feels like this is the QB he’s been for the last month or two. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm -

I have a theory. Because Josh has reworked his entire game since coming into the NFL, making adjustments to his mechanics and eyes takes a really long time to become permanent. Sometimes years and years. Josh said he took this offseason off for the first time to let his body rest. Which is totally fair. But it comes with some consequences for a guy who’s he to make so many changes. There was also that super goofy interview with him, Barkley, and Keenum. They make a few goofy references to how much film they watch. Allen is one of the worst QB’s in the league against zone this year… -

I would have to go back and watch games, but it feels like Allen has been relentlessly unwilling to get into a rhythm underneath compared to the end of last season. This just feels like 2021/2022 Josh. -

I’ll be curious what the A22 looks like. I watch most weeks and there’s often quick routes open underneath. But Josh keeps looking down field. It’s why the underneath looks so clunky sometimes. Guys are just waiting for it and flat footed. Josh’s ability and willingness to keep his eyes down field, and the consistency he makes low percentage throws compared to his peers is both a positive and negative for his game. When he’s on, we’re unstoppable. When he turns the ball over a few times and starts pressing, it makes everything so hard. -

17 points off of turnovers. I don’t have a lot of negatives about the defense. The offense did them no favors today. Especially in the second half. -

This has been Josh’s go to when he’s not quite sure what’s going on. And if it’s not there, hold the ball and hope the underneath clears out and he can take off. -

I thought it was the insistence on 40 yard incompletions over and over again. -

I have two parlays this weekend. One was all the games, and what I thought would happen. It wasn’t JAX over LAC. Bht the other is what I wish would happen in the AFC. FanDuel is letting me cash out for $0.77. I’m letting in ride. Haha -

I thought I’d wait until half to switch to the Sabres game. But a TD here and I might switch immediately. -

Sweet. I took LAC to cover. 😂 -
I can take a stab. My faith has swing like a pendulum over my life from being raised Protestant. to times if atheism, I think I’ve ultimately settled on the idea that good vibes are good, and the universe reacts to them. But to answer your question. Who cares? What if I am a genuinely good person, who tries to do right by friends, family, and strangers, but didn’t believe in the correct version of God? And the belief part was the only thing separating me for walking through the pearly gates vs eternally damnation? Then being a good person with good moral and intentions was never that important to that god anyways and heaven likely sucks. . Just trying to participate not argue, so hopefully I don’t come across as such.

So the Tua thing is a disaster. But I really think this is way more a league issue than a McDaniels issue. The entire concussion (and injury) protocol is basically “well a doctor said I could” then going going and doing stuff our doctor would never allow. The entire system is flawed. McDaniels is just the biggest and best example at the moment.

I’m always a little taken a back by the evangelism in the NFL. I mean I get it given how deeply rooted the sport is through the Bible Belt. I guess I am always surprised at how much room isn’t left in the NFL (and it’s fans) for other versions of faith and spirituality.

Why would they? He has 2 catches for us for a total of 18 yards and a 3rd down drop against a CIN game we didn't finish. He has been unemployed all year and provided zero production to either team he has been on. Beasley on the 53 and playing on game days is a favor to JA17 per his request. Not because he is a meaningful piece of this offense.

I am tempted to agree with you, but an entire generation has been born and become legal drinking age since he came to the league. He has retired and un-retired. Left his wife. His new GF is a 26 year old smoke show. This could be his midlife crisis. He might make a go of it. Left his wife, got the girlfriend, football could be his Harley?
