Bills not tendering Levi Wallace; have offered a contract

I think they can both be versatile enough to do that though, and I don't think Levi is - which is why I value Johnson and Dane over Levi. -
Bills not tendering Levi Wallace; have offered a contract

thats very true and I love that the Bills are retaining their best players. It's very refreshing. But I wasn't saying that with regards to Levi as a negative, I'm happy for the dude. It's not easy to get ahead in life, and when you have that opportunity it's good to see good people do that, and from all I've read Levi Wallace is a good man. I'd like to see him get paid after basically playing for the NFL minimum these last few years. He's got life changing money, and hopefully his next contract gets him generation changing money -
They are but I love offenses like that. Multiple vertical threats can open up a defense pretty good. Besides in today's NFL, 11 personnel is your base offense, so you can easily play two Xs.

Can someone explain to me the Pats strategy?

It's absurd. agholor is a fine WR. He's by no definition beyond above average. And he's a player you want to to fill a the whole to go from WC to contenders. They just gave him 26M over 2 years I continue to be mystified Maybe Belichak is trying to play 5D chess, and get other players angry at their contracts. By giving Nelson Agholor 13M a year, maybe he's trying to piss off Diggs and create dissension among the Bills locker room. 75% joking -
RG isn't any longer. Not a lot of guys I'd want at 30 vs getting a 2nd second rounder and maybe a 4th.

Eh, he's been playing on a UDFA Contract....the man is going to want to get paid. -

You can, but the problem here is that you can't play him anywhere else, meaning you can't move him into the slot, and he struggles in man because he's simply not quick enough. So if you keep him, you need to keep as an outside corner. Can't move him to slot, can't really move him to safety. Let Dane Jackson swap and slide with Taron Johnson between the outside and slot depending on matchup, and it wouldn't hurt to go and draft another corner perhaps in the 5th. -

Already may have accomplished that with Dane Jackson -

And Kendrick Bourne is another guy who is above average but doesn't neccesarily move the "contender' needle, unless he's your final piece of the puzzle. But if he's your best WR - well that's just not good enough. Think a lot of y'all are right, there's got to be a QB play here. -

What's interesting is that theres 4 QBs who seem to be graded out as top 10 QBs prospects - Lawrence, Wilson, Fields and Lance. And then you have Mac Jones, who was massively prolific in a historically loaded offense. Then you look at the teams that are drafting: Jags (rebuild), Jets (rebuild), Falcons (Future), Panthers (rebuild), Niners (Future), and Vikings (rebuild) would all be teams that would either definitely draft a QB, or have a greater need, either as a QB of the future or onset rebuild. Mac Jones would have to slip past the Niners and Vikes. -

Trent Brown isn't excellent and Onwenu hasn't played guard in the NFL. They should be good, but they lost a pair of VERY good starters in Cannon and Thuney, and they lost a pro-bowl caliber center in David Andrews, unless he decides to stay. -

That's fair, but also like the Bills D, they're far from elite on D. The Bills got to 13 - 3 because they had Josh Allen to make up for a defense that struggled for chunks, and I don't see how the Pats win football games against decent defenses if they have to scored 30+ -

It honestly reminds me of the Bills' lost decade(s).- 113 replies

They're spending a bunch of money on signing good to above average F/As, none of whom will push them over into contending range when you've hollowed out your OLine, have the broken down version of Cam Newton as your QB, and don't have much WR talent. All they're really doing is setting themselves up to pick at 15 - 20, so basically out of the running for a franchise QB. Unless their strategy is a 5 years of being mediocre, I don't get it. Either rebuild or try to contend. They're doing neither.

If Toney was available at 30, I'd snag him, if Friermuth wasn't available.

Would be a hard no for me. I like BPA, but within reason and also when you don't have any holes to fill. Right now, I think the bills will enter the draft with two significant holes, and two weaknesses, one of which they may or may not have an answer in house for. Holes: 1) Premier EDGE rusher. I don't see how they fill this at this point, without a trade and extend deal, such as Danielle Hunter. You could go out and sign someone like Lawson, Hassan Reddick, Ngukue (sp?), or Clowney - but you can't really justify them as being legit upgrades over both Hughes and Addison, which is what you're looking for. I would have said that about Watt or Shaq, but those guys aren't available anymore. Bills also aren't going to find this player by drafting someone at 30. 2) TE. This one I think they can fill by staying at 30, but it's basically Pat Friermuth or not at all, as there just aren't enough 1st round caliber TEs this year. Fry would be an excellent fit though, as he's got the size and athletecism to be an elite combo TE. He's not a guy that's going to run past defenders, but he's got great hands, very nimble, and will punish defenders running with the ball, and he's got a pretty good understanding of running routes. He's also got all the tools you'd want in an elite run blocking TE - something he didn't have to do too much of at Penn State, as they often had him running routes instead. If they can't get Fry, then they probably run with the what they have. Mix and Match Dawson and Lee Smith depending on match up and game plan. Weaknesses: 1) #2 corner. Levi Wallace is probably an average #2 corner, and there's potential for Dane Jackson to surpass him. But this isn't so weak that you invest a first rounder on. 2) Speed WR. Here you have some options Kadarius Toney, Tutu Atwell, Rondale Moore, etc would be interesting picks at 61 or 94. Maybe someone like Kenny Stills. I know MLJ has been ban hammering away for Travis Etienne and he might be an interesting speed prospect as well

It sounds like a freak injury, and he had successful surgery to fix it. I'm not a doc, but his frame, joints, and musclature all seem fine, as the herniated disc seemingly wouldn't have impacted that - and with a "successful" surgery, you'd think he'd be back to full strength. But I'm sure the Bills would do their due diligence on the injury, surgery and recovery baselines before making a trade that would involve a 1st rounder. That's my assumption of why I'd this to happen - that the injury concerns would be alleviated.

Sign and extend him. You can cut his 21 cap hit by half. He is absolutely worth a 1st rounder, though not sure the 30th pick would be enough. You might have to throw in AJE or something

I wish Curtis Samuels was available for under 5M. That would be ideal. -

I hadn't realized that about Stills, guess he was an emergency guy if JB couldn't go in the playoffs. As for Addison, when I posted it wasn't announced he had restructured. But that's fine. Still opens a small gap to sign a new EDGE -

They still need to replace Jefferson, but perhaps that's just going to naturally filled by Justin Zimmer. Not sure I'd be ok rolling with the edge rushers they had last season + a hopefully well improved AJE. Though perhaps I'm being a bit dramatic. Chiefs have to significantly improve their OLine, or they may not even be in a position to get to the AFC Championship. They rode their two tackles, and we saw what they had behind them - not much. If the Bills can add a TE as a weapon, a run blocking guard, and get AJE to be a top 30% EDGE Rusher, that might be enough to push the Bills past everyone else in the AFC. -
Would hope that 10M hit gets down to a 5M hit, as he's a reserve at this point.
