  1. Addison will also be gone. There's no way they're gong to hold on to him with a $10M cap hit
  2. He's not a free agent. Next year he's got a cap hit of $9.4M, and dead cap of $2.1M You keep Hughes, and then you cut Mario Addison, which frees up $6.2M . Vernon Butler will also be cut, saving another $6.8M. But yea, I'd be VERY surprised if they cut Jerry.
  3. Don't believe you'll see the salary cap decreased. They'll find a way around it
  4. AKA he thought he had enough momentum from the Hawks game where didn't think it was worth exposing Morse to another concussion so soon after a recent one. That's legitimate.
  5. Now that I’ve calmed down a bit, that play was as well covered by Buffalo as it possibly could be. That’s just Hopkins going beast mode. with that said, the Bills shouldn’t have been in a position to win that game, and a lot of it is down to their inability to run the ball. the Bills game plan basically requires Josh Allen to be elite for the majority of the game. Both of those INTs are Allen making throws he probably wouldn’t be making with a better run game. The first was into semi coverage though really it was mostly Peterson making a play, the 2nd, Allen feeling rushed by a pass rush that was teeing off on him the entire game. without some kind of functioning running game, this is how it’s gonna be. Allen carrying the entire offense on his back, taking too many risky throws. I mean the Cards have 3 really good DBs in Budda, Dre, and Peterson. With Ford, Morse and Feliciano all hopefully coming back after the bye I have some hopes we’ll see some balance out of the Bills offense. But with Winters and Boetger there was little chance of a sustainable run game and Zona never bothered defending it. Josh will claim he was as at fault, but he’s why we didn’t get blown out and why the Bills even had a shot at winning, but this is coming down the interior line play
  6. I hate football and Kyler Murray and that dumbass irritating as hell offense
  7. The earlier you do the extension, the less pain you feel in the long term. For Josh, I think you go between Mahomes and Watson. 8 years and 300M, which includes a 10-15M signing bonus. That would add just 1.8M to his cap hit next year and in 2022, while giving him make you rich money right off the bat, and also giving the Bills 3 years to prep for his 40M cap hit in 2023. That ALSO gives you space to resign Milano, Feliciano and Levi Wallace, and depending on what the cap is gonna be, sign a FA DE to replace Jerry Hughes/Mario Addison.
  8. Earlier in the season I would have jumped on this, but for now - pass rush isn't quite an issue. He'd be behind Hughes and Addison as rush end, and for obvious pass downs you have Jefferson and Oliver who can play twin 3T as rush players. If he came in he'd be behind Hughes and Addison, but ahead of AJ Epenesa, who'd likely be relegated to the practice squad
  9. I'm guessing Beane has been trying fairly hard, but other teams are asking too much. Glaring need at DT, but only a certain profile can fit there, because the Bills can't cut Star in the off season. That player has to be cheap or easy to cut in the off season
  10. Also - no, they play heavy zones against Wilson, and don't give him easy 1v1 opps
  11. It’s the running game. We’ve had about 4 straight teams take a look at the Buffalo offense and decide that Allen’s arm wasn’t the thing that was going to beat them. The Pats game was the first time the Bills offense really punished a defense for doing that. Pats flooded 7-8 DBs into the zones, and Buffalo responded by running for almost 200 yards. We’ll see how the Hawks respond. If I were them I’d let Buffalo run rather than give Allen opportunities downfield
  12. So in this game I think you do your best to take away the big play from Wilson. Have White on DK + Double highs. You let Oliver play 1T as they have less to worry about in the run game. Force Wilson to play small ball against 7-8 man zones and get them to kick FGs. meanwhile you attack the Hawks secondary which has been putrid. They actually have a decent run D, but in this game you let Allen and those WRs feast. The goal is to get the Hawks to trade FGs for Buffalo TDs. you accept that Wilson is going to hit 75% of his passes...just make sure they’re not anything over 20 yards, and make sure the median is near 10. Make that YPA under 7. Make him play small ball.
  13. Trent is on an expiring contract so the contract really isn't an issue, it'll get cleared out of the cap in Feb. However, his dead cap is fairly high, so I don't know how this would work. He basically doesn't bring any value to the opposing team other than being a large body.
  14. as someone above said, you need to understand the concept of gap responsibility. You're not really going to be able to evaluate outside of splash plays without the All 22
  15. Just getting out infront of this - Hard pass on Everson Griffen
  16. Keep in mind the Bills only have 4M in cap space, and the dead cap issue prohibits cutting/trading anyone with sizable salary. To get to 8M you'd probably have to cut 5 back of the 53 man roster players. So if the Bills want land someone with significant salary, they'll have to throw in extra draft picks to get the other team convert salary to bonus in order to fit them into the cap. With that said this is how I'd prioritize: 1-Technique DT EDGE TE CB RG 1) Dalvin Tomlinson. 1T who'd be an instant starter 2) Linval Joseph, the older version of Tomlinson, just a 5.5M cap hit we could make work. Would cost less draft capital. Instant upgrade at 1T EDGE 1) Carlos Dunlop, he's got a cap hit of 11M, but I suspect the Bengals would be willing to eat a lot of that to get rid of him, but work to do to get him under the cap. Plus a questionable locker room plHayayer 2) Brandon Graham. Does he still have it? He's got a 6M cap hit this year, which rises to 17M next year, which is also his dead cap hit 3) Dexter Lawrence. He's a legit talent in his prime, but man that contract is a huge anchor. 2021 his cap hit is 25M and his dead cap 45M TE 1) Evan Engram. Would be ideal. Big, fast, a legit pass catcher and weapon. Under utilized due to how badly the Giants are made. Just a 3.4M cap hit. Problem is that Gettlemen is a dead man walking, and it seems the Giants want to keep him around for their 5 year rebuilding project 2) Hunter Henry. Not used much in the Charger's offense, still talented, but his 10M cap space is a bit of a struggle. He's a UFA after this season 3) Hayden Hurst. Gets some value for the Falcons, but still under utilized there. Always been a bit underwhelming but likely offers an upgrade in Buffalo as a starter. Just a 1.9M cap hit CB 1) This is fun but Nickell Robey-Coleman, still a decent slot DB, and could slide over to the #2 as well. Just a 1.3M Cap hit, and the flounder Eagles would probably take a 4th for him 2) Casey Heyward. Legitimately one of the best corners in the NFL, but at 31 isn't probably going to be there for when the Chargers emerge as contenders, and with F/A hitting this offseason, the Chargers might just listen to offers, as they probably have little interest in resigning him for big money. Had an 11.75M cap hit which makes it tough
  17. I had completely forgotten that he had an OC career before the Patriots. Not sure I hold it against him for not having good offenses with Mangini and Sparano, especially when you consider that he was in his 30 still. So I guess he's only been an OC in the League since working with the Pats & Belichak in 2013, since 2018
  18. Because he's only been in the league for 2 years as OC? Both of which were with Josh Allen?
  19. More specficially, play more man and make the WRs make more contested catches 1v1
  20. They don’t have weapons. Maybe Edelman starts ahead of Beasley but other than that none of these WRs would start for Buffalo. Hell im not sure they even keep Gabe Davis off the depth chart
  21. because Harrison Phillips has been BAD bad. You can’t run this defense with 2 three techniques. Can’t stop the run that way. You need SOMEONE at 1-tech and Oliver is probably your best option. The problem is that he’s a pro-bowl caliber 3 technique. my issue with the coaching hasn’t been necessarily the Dline (I’m more frustrated with the player execution), but rather the lack of adjusting for clearly suspect pass rush by installing a more comprehensive and frequent blitz package. seems like they did that today
  22. Getting a legit 1 Technique would be pretty big for a McDermott defense. He asks so much from his linebackers, that you need to keep them as clean as possible
  23. Awesome to hear, I thought the Bills needed to blitz a lot more for their pedestrian Dline. Didn’t think Hughes had that in him anymore
