  1. It's better than what other teams would do.
  2. Problem is he admitted to having sex and told her she should get checked out, and when she asked him if he had actual sex with her, is when he turned into a robot
  3. And the punishment for lying about one's age and underage drinking is rape?
  4. The bills reached out to Jane Doe's lawyer ASAP after he reached out to them. That's a good thing.
  5. it's incumbent on Araiza to not have have sex with a young woman of indeterminate age who's wasted. In other words, don't rape her
  6. That's a fairly meaningless if she was drunk
  7. I think she'd tell you she was intoxicated she wasn't capable of relaying this information
  8. There’s also the DA’s discretion that counts for quite a bit here. California law doesn’t say anything about intent but I can’t imagine most DAs not considering what a reasonable person would think about age in that situation. if it turns out she was wasted that’s an entirely different situation. Girls have the right to get drunk without being raped, and rape isn’t the punishment for girls going out and having fun
  9. And this is probably what Matt told the Bills. Along with the evidence of violence it would not be enough for me, personally. But it’s also reasonable to think that it would be enough for other reasonable, smart and empathetic people. I’m not a moral cop and I don’t care how much you slept around in college so long as you weren’t hurting others while doing so
  10. I would bet dollars to donuts your sister thinks these two lawyers are morons
  11. Thanks I didn’t quite know how answer that - moreso along the can of worms it opens ie federalism & states rights
  12. I guess all I’ll say is that I sure as heck hope the Bills did their due diligence and they’re not just acting desperate with that statement
  13. This is just so bizarre
  14. Different discussion but i thought Haack was the worst player on the roster - and yea probably cost the Bills points if not losses
  15. Actually I’m responding to circumstantial evidence: Araiza admitted to having sex with her Her injuries Even the defense lawyer saying “wasn’t in that room” which means he believes she was raped
  16. On pure talent, Araiza is the type that takes you from 90% to 95%. Field position is huge with a team as talented as the Bills. They’re almost going to get at least 1-2 first downs a drive and that means you’re gonna always have the opportunity to force opposing fields to drive the field against an elite defense
  17. Fair enough, I guess I got really frustrated by the few posts here and here reading Twitter
  18. You dont think an NFL team on the verge of winning a SB would give an extra helping of doubt to someone who could be hugely important to winning that SB? Look I’ve pretty much lost faith in ANY major multibillion entity doing the morally/societally correct thing, rather than looking at everything through a cost/benefit/risk lens
  19. The what was the evidence they submitted to the DA? And why submit evidence to the DA if the police don’t believe a crime was admitted? Again you start with the assumption that this young person is lying
  20. Twitter and Bills Mafia is really starting to gross me out If my workplace found I’d been accused of being part of a gang rape of a 17 year 8 months prior to getting hired out of college, and all they knew was that I admitted to sex and told her she needed to check for STDs because I had chlamydia, and there was physical evidence of some sort of violence l, I’d be out of a job. The only entity that has to fully care about Innocent until proven is the Justice System and any other public entities. Private organizations are well within their rights to look at the circumstantial evidence they have at hand, and make their own decision on whether or not it’s worth it go forward with that employee- I see almost no upside here for the Bills keeping Araiza. Finally, the lack of empathy for women is astounding. Why don’t women speak up? Just look at the comment warriors on Twitter and that’s all the answer you’ll need. Women who speak up get destroyed
  21. I still can’t believe this statement
  22. No one of them has to be over 18
  23. Id be much more furious with the PR team said “thoroughly loved investigated matter”, because that means at MINIMUM the Bills know he had sex with an underage girl
  24. You realize he admitted to statutory rape right? https://www.cwsdefense.com/blog/2020/june/exceptions-to-californias-statutory-rape-laws/#:~:text=In California%2C it is illegal, informed consent to sexual activities. Matt was 22 when this incident happened. At BEST - a drunk girl started talking to him, and he didn’t bother to get her age, and decided the best course of action was to have sex with her, and that drink girl was 17. Someone who was over 20% younger than him - senior in college. He shouldn’t be on this team
