At home, including Saturday night, will depend on how windy and which direction the wind is coming from. Watching on TV, typically the wind will blow from left to right. Marv Levy would use the wind as a trigger to decide if he wanted the ball at kickoff. By selecting receiving the opening kickoff, Levy then received the choice of which end zone to defend in the 3rd qtr, which typically was facing the wind, then working with the wind in the 4th qtr. I saw this as well. I honestly don't buy it 100%. After the Bills game, Tua was asked if he is the starter going forward. Tua replied "its not my call". A QB needs to say "I am the starter and this is my team". Tua didn't do that. I think Grier is posturing to drive up the value for the #3 pick overall to see what they will be offered or will and draft a QB in round 1.

I was thinking through this scenario as well. I keep landing on you should never willfully lose to allow a specific team to make the playoffs and another to miss. That's bad karma and would somehow, some way, come right back and bite the Bills pretty badly

To this day, I remember the momentum building and ride happening from '87 through '99. The 1st and 4th super Bowls felt was ours. I was there in the stands for the Division clincher in '95. I felt then that if Bruce didn't catch the Flu 3 days before the Steelers Divisional game, we would have won then won the Super Bowl. Also felt that we would have won the bowl in '99. Even with the AFC having more young stud QB's, the AFC has collected more top end talent and will be better than the NFC for a number of years. AFC is loaded with really good teams and teams who are on the cusp of perennial playoff contenders.
