This is why Marrone will make us a winner
BreezeMafia replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doug - please be pissed at Hackett. Some one said that Hackett has thrown some of QB's under the bus with the sack comment. You I agree with that statement, especially when Hackett wont come out and own up to the fact that he (Hackett) should not have put Tuel in that position on the 1 yard line. That is all on Hackett. -
What grinds me even more is that Hackett wont even step up and say that he should not have put Tuel in that position. Just run three times up the middle, we get stopped, then fine. We kick the field goal and are up by two scores, have all the momentum, the crowd is into it, the D is playing well.......what else do you need? But of course, Hackett has to be Hackett and get cute. Oh, and what does Hackett say after the game "You can only protect a player so long". I am not fan of Hackett at all. Now watch, when everything is said and done, we will finish around 8 - 8, have pretty nice year end offensive stat's and Hackett will get a lot of that credit. I said it this morning, play calls like that should get people fired, regardless of if they are in their first year or not.

Darrick Holmes fumble at the goal line. 1995.

I do remember that game. I see where you are going with your point. I just think yesterday's play was different and had a different feel to it. -
Nine games played,we are looking at the draft
BreezeMafia replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or based on where the Bills finish up now, considering that Marrone and Hackett really blew it on Sunday (and they are both still defending the play call on 3rd and 1 at the 1), the obvious choice for the Bills barring any trade offers that may come there way, is Khalil Mack from UB. Don't know who he is? Watch one of the ESPN channels tomorrow evening. UB plays on the National stage Tuesday evening. -
Yes you are right, we started a 3rd or 4th stringer. Which is all the more reason TO NOT CALL A PASS PLAY on 3rd and 1 and the 1 with a chance to go up by two scores. This is on HACKETT...........AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Analytics: 1st down on the 1 yard line
BreezeMafia replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could be a freshman at any high school across the country and realize that you don't call a pass play at that moment, especially when you have a rookie QB and having KC on the Ropes. This is a play call that should get people fired. But of course Marrone will protect Hackett. Way to go Doug. Way to go Hackett. And way to go Russ. Great job guys. Great. -
How about cutting ties with Hackett who again shows he is not NFL ready either. This is now three games that there has been one key O play call that influenced the outcome of a game. As soon as the interception was made at the goal line, I told myself that was it. Hackett - REALLY? You REALLY put this young guy in that position. Get the points. But of course you will be protected by Marrone who should be under the gun for today as well. Nice job Coach and O Coordinator. Very nice job!

Tuel starts, I sit Fred Jax in Fantasy Football. Too bad to because Freddie was a lock for 14 points the last 4 - 5 weeks.

I agree. I see us winning the next. KC H - W; Pit A - W; NYJ H - W; ATL H - W; TB A - W; JAX A - W; MIA H - W -> leading to 10 victories. Wild card is in the picture.

I have watched the Saints because of Fantasy Football. I am in no way a Saints fan because of bounty gate. I also feel as though Indy lost the super bowl in 2009 more so than Saints taking command and winning it. I have Jimmy Graham on two of my rosters and Sproles on another. It is so huge that Graham is most likely not going to play today. Another key item for today - screen passes. With regards to Mario and our edge rushers coming hard (and they will), Pettine has to respect and stay very vigilant about the screen pass cause New Orleans does a really nice job with screens. Oh man could this be the true coming out party for Dareus. Its today baby, its right there. I stick to my game forecast that this game will be much closer than expected. At the end, it will be a one possession game.
-
True, but we would still have to answer him, then that takes away focus on keying on Sproles and the WR's. Graham is also quite large as in 6'7'. Outside of Colston and the rookie Toon whom are on the outside, Brees will have a tough time finding folks over the middle. If he sits, all the better for the Bills.

Cut n paste view of a well respected footbal pub on the Saints WR's - The biggest story coming into this game is the health of TE Jimmy Graham. Not only did Graham get shut down by the Patriots in Week Six, but he also suffered a foot injury that could keep him out this week. Graham has admitted the extra attention he’s received throughout the season has made things increasingly more difficult, and when no one else in the receiving corps is stepping up, we can understand why defenses have been keying on Graham. Sure, RBs Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas have made plays in the passing game, but WR Marques Colston has been very disappointing and WR Lance Moore got off to a bad start and has missed some time with a hand injury, although it looks like he’ll return to action this week. With little production coming on the ground, the Saints can’t afford to have their aerial attack stall out and they will be tested by a Buffalo defense that’s playing quite well coming into this matchup in New Orleans.

If there was ever a moment in a young guys career to make a statement, its Sunday. I am talking about Dareus. A solid rush up the middle from Dareus and Branch will disrupt the Passing Lanes that Brees will see through. Brees is about 6' and has to tip toe to see over his line. The Buc's beat him up and a big reason was because the Buc's DT's did a great job of plugging the passing lanes.
-
I shared this a few times, if you review just the WR's in the New Orleans passing game, the WR group is average to above average, not great. This is one of the big issues the New Orleans masks because of Graham and Sproles. If Graham doesnt play, that places more focus on the receivers to step up. Add in that New Orleans has an average O line, you can quickly see that there are some areas the Bills D could exploit. I am not saying this will lead us to a victory, but I sure believe this game will be a lot closer than people are expecting.

We will loose to the saints by how many points???
BreezeMafia replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree and disagree. Saints will win yes. But the game will be competitive through the 4th qtr. Then something will happen mid to late, say the 6:00 minute mark, to help put more distance between the Saints and the Bills. Two things that the Saints O hides very well - Avg to above avg receiving core (Just receivers mind you) and an average O line. Jim Graham and Darren Sproles help mask those two points. With Jimmy maybe out for Sunday (sucks for me as he is on 3 of my fantasy teams), Pettine can focus in on the other pass catchers including Sproles and attack the Saints O Line. I see a score of 30 - 24 Saints. -

Jimmy Graham May Be Out Sunday
BreezeMafia replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So true. I am a beloved Bill sfan but was counting on his return. -
What impressed me the most about Winston was his QB mechanics. Right there is where Winston is superior than EJ and Winston is only 19. Some examples of QB mechanics - arm strength, release, accuracy (for the majority of throws, not all), foot work, command of the offense for the bulk of the game. Not bashing EJ here, but wow..........Winston looks awesome. Maybe Clemson should scrap the whole pregame bus ride around the stadium thing. I didn't get that at all. When Florida State went up 24-7, my wife who is some-what a football fan said "Maybe the orange team should ride a different bus next time" LOL.

Is Kyle Williams the problem with the run defense?
BreezeMafia replied to BuffaloPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My view is that when Alan Branch is on the field, either subbing for Marcel Dareus or when Marcel Dareus moves to the end, our run D performs better. Our run D has a tough time when Kyle and Darues are in the middle. -
Chris Brown - Bills "Reporter"
BreezeMafia replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really impressed with C Brown and cant see what value he brings. One of the many postings he wrote that aggravated me was this year heading into the Panthers game. The subject of the story was EJ and Fred reaching out to Russell Wilson and Marshawn on what to do vs the Panthers D. Russell shared "go deep" and Marshawn shared "stick with the run". In my view, that info shared to EJ and Fred should have been viewed as strategy info. My aggravation stems from Chris writing on what other players are telling our players on how to beat an opponent. The strategy info shared between the players should be kept quiet and behind closed doors, not shared in a public forum. -
Thad Lewis Is A Better Option Than EJ Manuel Right Now

Still playing Cincy's D in Fantasy this week. -
Agreed. Falcons are delivering who they really are, a very soft team. So lets not get to high or low on how a rookie, unless its Randy Moss's rookie year. Geno had an awesome game so good for him. The AFC East is becoming a very physical division again which is why the Falcons have lost three straight over last three weeks to our division. I like the Jets Defense and whether we like Rex or not (I do), he is a great coach. Did you all see him whooping it right back to the Falcons fans at the end of the first half? That was awesome. Add to that the Falcons have been to the playoffs 4 out of 5 years which affects their draft position and the players available to draft, including trading a number of picks to grab Julio. Like I said, lets not get to high or low on rookies, including our rookie. I do love it however how Rex and Marty M are letting Geno be Geno and that includes dealing with the mistakes he will make.

Pat White not signed at this time
BreezeMafia replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bringing in White does not lend any confidence that the Bills O will be moving the ball or scoring points. Nothing against White, but he is coming into a hornets nest of an upcoming schedule - CIN, MIA, NO, KC, PIT, JETS. There is never good timing with injuries but EJ's really comes at such a wrong time. I guess the Bills are planning for April already and are hoping that they can secure an STL / WAS type of trade with the Bills on the receiving end of a ton of draft picks from a team who wants to trade up and grab a QB. FWIW, if any of you all play fantasy, until we see an offensive spark from White and the rest of the O while EJ is out, I would suggest playing each Defense the Bills will play over the next 6 weeks. -
Alot of room out on the limb - We beat Bengals
BreezeMafia replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont see us winning, not after how I saw the Cincy D shut down Brady and NE. -
I am watching with my bud who is a Pat's fan, we wrapped the CIN - PAT's game (great game to watch). I go "Watch, INT coming right now." Boom! Same of Fitz.
