It's never too early to begoin preparing for next year. As with Drew, players that are paid in excess in of $9 mil per year should be in Buffalo full time attempting to do everything in their power to earn the big paycheck, especially when they really need to improve to justify that big paycheck.

Cards have very little risk. From Cards perspective, they are willing to cut Shelton if they can't deal him. If they trade him for HEnry, Henry can complain all he wants, but he will play in 2005 under his contract if he has to because that is th only way to get a big payday. Even if he walks after 2005, the Cards will have gotten at least 1 year's value and probably will extend him at some point.

Marino's record may not have been great, a lot of that is due to the Bills. But he usually played well. The same can't be said of Bledsoe who was far more often the main reason for his team underperforming on the field.

even with that, he still needs the defense to play a soft vanilla zone so Drew doesn't get confused. He's in the NFC now, so the odds of weak defenses go up. But wait until Philly and Wash come to town.

Unfortunatlely, the Pats have made more with less because they havebeen drafting very late due to their Super Bowl appearances. Teflon Tom has put done well in buiding this team thru free agency and trades, but he has made his job a lot harder and spent much more because he has not uncovered much cheap talent from the middle rounds of the draft. If more of his mid-round picks had turned out, TD could have spent the free agent money on other areas (OL) and made the Bills a much more talented team overall.
