  1. Peters probaby proved that he is not smart enough to pick up the intricacies of running pass routes as a TE. If he can't be a downfield force like Gonzalez, then his talent is wasted as an inline blocker as a TE. Thus, the team is much better off using his physical skills at LT where he can match up one-on-one with elite pass rushers. The plan probably is get by with Gandy at LT until Peters is ready to hold his own at LT. Thus it would be highly unlikely that the team will cause any major disruption in the OL by moving either MW or Teague to LT unless Gandy totally busts and Peters proves totally incompetent.
  2. gee - I wonder why that is?
  3. what are you watching? Fat Mike can be a dominant RT. Unless he drops 50 pounds, which will seriously reduce his effecdtiveness as a run blocker, he can't handle speed rushers and does not belong at LT.
  4. you are right in that you need a stud at LT. Too bad it's not Fat Mike. He does not have the speed or agility to handle speed rushes as a TR, let alone elite rushers as a LT. Jason Peters on the other hand does have the physical tools to handle speed rushers and although inexperienced is the better LT prospect. Fat Mike does have the muscle and power to anchor a dominant run game on the right side of the line. Willis should never be stopped on short yardage to the right side.
  5. they still have Alonzo Mourning, they drafted Wayne Simien and Walker will add bulk to the front line. They also kept Mike Doleac, although he is not exactly a defensive stopper. The Heat will be awfully tough this year. They are also talking of going after Michael Finley if he is cut loose.
  6. what was the time of possession differential for the 3rdf quarter? How much of that low scoring was because the over team didn't have the ball?
  7. one of teh best plays from last year played to Drew's tendencies. On short yardage, Drew took a few steps towards teh line and looked like he was stumbling (which for Drw was very believable) then pitched to Willis for a long gainer.
  8. Peters has the physical tools to match up against eleite pass rushers. His problem will be handling on the fly changes to the blocking schemes. However, if McNally can simplify his adjustments so Peters can just deal with the player in front of him - he will be better able to handle that opponent than Gandy will. Although more experienced, Gandy will be beaten by elite rushers due to his physical limitations. Since they will have to scheme to help either player, they might as well push Peters as hard as possible to see if he can make the jump.
  9. you are correct, sir!
  10. ever since his groin injury, Moulds has not performed as the dominant, elite WR that he is beng paid for. If he drops passes at the rate of the last 18 months, then Lee Evans will quickly become the double teamed WR. Hopefully, Moulds rebounds this year.
  11. Ralph was probably mad at the donkey piss your friend had on his hand.
  12. moulds will hit the wall this year- his time has passed
  13. since they will have to specifically game plan for the LT anyway, don;t be surprised if Jason Peters plays sooner than expected since he is much better suited physically to match up with elite DEs.
  14. let's see what he can do with a QB that actually hits him in stride on a consistent basis.
  15. old, fat and slow is the way to go! as long as there is a recognizable name attached
  16. Because LT is much more about physical tools than mental ability. The TE position requires quite of bit of intelligence to understand where to find the seams and when to release, etc. It is far more difficult to find the rare speciman who has the quickness and strength to control an elite pass rusher, than it is to find a body to work as a TE. Peters has the physical tools - but he needs experience which he won't get if he's trying to be a TE.
  17. If McNally had no confidence in Gandy at LT, Teague would be getting ALL of the snaps at LT. Peters is still the darkhorse.
  18. that's because recruuits with half a brain don't want to put their careers in the hands of a senile, old man.
  19. yeah - he got them a long time ago. but just to piss you off - he re-sold your tickets to some Saints fan at full price.
  20. better answer is to shrink the center ice area and expand the offensvie zones
  21. the should have moved the goal farther away from the end line so there is a big zone behind the net like lacrosse where plays can be generated
  22. not to TV same reason that soccer does not appeal to the masses - lack of scoring and exciting plays
  23. not a real Porshe if it has a backseat
  24. and he will doing it under his current contract. The Eagles are the worst team to be pulling this crap on because they absolutely will not break their long standing policy of caving in to extortionists.
  25. The Eagles have got to the NFC final the last 4 years without TO. The NFC still stinks- so they will probably be there again- with or without TO.
