  1. The Dolphins blitzed plenty - that's why the middle screen to Thurman was so successful. Sure Kelly made some bad plays off blitzes, however, unlike Drew, he hit plenty of big plays that absolutely killed most teams that tried to blitz. The other major error by Olividatti was trying to have Louie Oliver cover Andre Reed one-on-one.
  2. The Tuna WAS a good coach when he had Belichek running things for him. He hasn't been nearly as successful since Belichek bolted the Jets for NE. Now he is just like Drew, an outdated relic living off of his reputation.
  3. Peters will be our LT- maybe this year, but more likely next. give up your crusade to have him play TE. You harp on his IQ, which is probably a factor why he is not playing TE. he can't comnprehend the complexities of the position. He does have the physical tools to match up man-on-man with elite pass rushers.
  4. Yeah- I'm sure they'll admire him plenty when he coughs up a turnover insdie the 20 from holding the ball too long
  5. Typoically, it would be better if Clements was in the booth Wyche was on the field with his QB. You can't see what is happening on the field from the sideline. They may flip it around and have Wyche in the booth.
  6. Being a proto-typical pocket passer does not mean that the QB has absolutely zero awareness in the pocket to feel the pass rush AND zero decision making ability. Marino was probably slower than Drew (and definitely after his achilles injury), but he still managed to slide a few feet in the pocket to buy some time and deliver the ball. Drew has been living off of his reputation for a long time and has refused to work on the deficient aspects of his game to improve himself.
  7. they should keep it at 53 but activate the entire roster for all games. Having 6 players inactive each week is just plain stupid
  8. yeah- following one's own advice may be a good thing
  9. You can blame one of the worst QBs in the league when the ball is in the red zone. It's tough to score when your QB is in a continual melt down and is committing turnovers instead of scoring points
  10. How can you possibly say Philly did not see this coming? In all likelihood, they expected to get 1 year out of TO along with a Super Bowl trophy. 1. They structured the $8 mil bonus paid last year as $6 mil of roster bonus which was inculded in the cap in 2004 and only $2 mil of signing bonus which could be treated as dead money if TO was cut loose. 2. They included specific language in the contract which allows the Eagles to suspend TO without pay for conduct detrimental to the team AND allows them to claw back part of the siging bonus. 3. They structured the bonus payment for 2006 as a roster bonus which allows them to cut TO loose at that time without a big cap hit. The Eagles are now papering the file to support the suspension of TO without pay for 2005. Even better than what Gruden did with Keyshawn. Unless he changes his attitude, TO will be stuck in Philly.
  11. totally disagree about Denney. Although he doesn't start, he is an integral part of the zone blitz package because of his abiity to play DT and drop in to coverage. He is the major reason both Sam Adams and Pat Williams didn't smell the field on 3rd downs last year.
  12. you are correct- too bad Law is not healthy AND his contract with the Jets supports that concern. When would a healthy player, who demanded $9 mil + from NE, agree to play for as little as $1 mil for 2005 from the Jets.
  13. I think the Eagles from the beginning were prepared that TO would only play for then for 1 year and get them over the hump to win the SuperBowl. The contract was set up to as to not incur big dead money if they had to cut ties with TO. If so, they are willing to go on without him and will not do what is logical or expected. Thus, TO will not get more money, will not get cut and will not get traded. TO will get suspended, fined and will have money taken away due to his conduct being detrimental to the the team. TO picked the wrong team to extort money from.
  14. more likely is that the release was for the doctor who didn't feel TO was ready to play. And give me a break that TO played in the Super Bowl for the good of the team. TO is all about TO. He was deathly afraid of being totally forgotten since the TEAM got to the big game without him.
  15. yeah- just like last year when teams were in fear of our Hall of Fame QB
  16. how convenient to forget the $10 mil he got last year. Also convenient to whine that the contract is one sided based on the premise that the team can cut the player at any time. However, getting cut loose to be a free agenet is exactly what the players, especially Owens, want and is why the agent designs the contract with big back end bonues and salaries to force the team to cut the player loose. If Owens wanted to control his own destiny, he should have signed a 1 year deal (which would have been for less money than whata in got in signing bonus). Unfortunately for Owens, he picked the absolute worst team in the league to try to extort money from. Although the Eagles need a WR desperately, they will put a higher priority on the TEAM and will make an example of Owens. If he continues to be disruptive, the team will suspend him, implement the contract clause that allows them to reclaim a chunk of his signing bonus for "conduct detrimental to the team" Not to mention that TO won't accrue a year of service and thus won't be eligible for the big bonus due next year.
  17. Jason Peters is the long term LT- and he may be the short term answer as well if he can remember the snap count.
  18. TD should offer to take the TO problem off of Philly's hand- if they give us Simon as compensation.
  19. A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is another vehicle which offers more flexibility than an S Corp. Definitely need a business plan which lays out the nitty gritty for delivering service and more importantly collecting the cash. The plan should have detailed cash flow projections as well, which is updated with actual experience as you move forward. It is almost guaranteed that your actual expenses will exceed whatever you originally budgeted.
  20. mostly good with some streaky bad stretches will still be better than the pemament limitations are prior QB forced the O to operate under. He was a turnover waiting to happen
  21. most important is to win enough games to get in the playoffs. doesn't matter how and it doesn't matter if if its pretty. strong D with turnovers to shorten the field and strong running game to run clock and dictate tempo will be the recipe. JP needs to be a caretaker who isn't a turnover machine.
  22. based on that logic they should have kept Drew
  23. that's why tge interest in Simon- Fat Sam could eat himself off the field due to injury or heart attack
  24. T why be generous with a 3rd or 4th rounder for a Pro Bowl DL. he Eagles should probably give us an extra opick along with Simon since Reed is SO good.
  25. large amounts of alcohol and drugs (could be pain killers, performance enhancing, or other more obvious ones) probably have something to do with it.
