  1. Vince Wilfork comes to mind.
  2. he's got a good plan. Give Fat Mike a new signing bonus and then immediately recognize the cap hit for the deferred portion upon the trade due to the acceleration rule.
  3. maybe he's teaching Fat Mike the finer points of bench sitting
  4. hey - don't laugh- Joey H would have been our QB if Matt Millen didn't make the mistake.
  5. Nate has a good PR guy. His play on the field is far from a shut down corner.
  6. all the more reason to get out of the top 5 at any cost just to save the huge money required. Due to the huge investment, Fat Mike was not moved to G earlier in a failed attempt by Teflon Tom to save face. Pearson should have been the pick as a LT in the 2nd round.
  7. Peters will be the LT eventually. He has the physical skills to handle elite pass rushers, but needs some experience. the plan is probably for next year, which is why he pushed Fat Mike out of RT.
  8. could be because we have an awful lot of really stupid players-that are mentally soft. Could also be why Bennie and Fat Mike have such trouble figuring out who to block
  9. Bills should have taken Vince Wilfork. would have immediately helped both run defense and pass defense, as well as providing flexibility of playing 3-4
  10. since you can't predict injuries, the answer is to draft a project QB in EVERY draft. If you hit, you have a starter, If you hit the lottery with multiple QBS, you have trade bait.
  11. he was no stud- he was a reach to fill a spot of need he was quick for a man his huge size- which unfortunately is not quick enough to pass block in the NFL for the cap room he has eaten, he is a total disaster. TD needed to strike gold with the #4, even with a player or a trade for multiple picks. He failed miserably and the team will still be paying the price at least into next year.
  12. all the more reason to get out of the top 10 where the cost to sign the talent is more manageable if the player does bust. Not to mention your odds of total failure are further reduced by having extra picks.
  13. yeah - Dwight Freeney was a total bust. Levi Jones is a quality LEFT tackle. Henderson & Haynesworth at DT (another position of need) have been very good pros. TD put all his eggs in the Joey H basket and failed to maneveur into position to obtain quality talent at reasonable cost.
  14. GMs with conviction will make a deal. The reason teams don't move up is the ransom that is usually demanded. However, a GM is free is request a lower package to move down, get a better suited player at a more reasonable salary. Teflon Tom did not seriously pursue a trade prior to the draft because Joey H was his guy. TDs world fell apart when the Lions burst his bubble.
  15. absolutely incorrect. For his entire career, Fat Mike was a RT who was too slow to play the more important LT position. You don't spend top 4 money on a one dimensional run blocker. And to Teflon Tom's defense, he didn't plan on drafting Fat Mike. He fully expected to draft Joey Harrington and did not explore other options to trade the pick because he was convinced Joey H would be available. (Joey would have sucked as well, but he would not have made the Bledsoe trade- thus keeping a boatload of top picks since wasted on Drew and JP)
  16. Fat Mike will be fine at G since no one can beat him to the outside. Peters will be the LT next year- that's why they need him to get reps on the field now.
  17. a real small one should be available with our top 5 pick in this year's draft.
  18. coaching our OL is living on reputation- let's see some production
  19. no - I didn't - care to expand on that thought?
  20. Peters will be fine. He is an athlete that can matchup with elite pass rushers. It's not like our RT has cornered the market on gray matter. Fat Mike sure can't figure out the blitz pick-ups and he has 4 years of NFL experience.
  21. they get big fat guaranteed contracts to make the tough calls.
  22. you should open your eyes when you watch the game or take off the rose colored glasses. Although he is a mauler in the run game, his surprising speed and agility for a 380 lb person is inadequate to handle the speed rushers of the NFL. When challenged to the outside, he usually loses - whether due to his lack of quickness or his constant injuries. And as you say, he is also lacking in the mental aspect of the game. For the line as a whole, this is probably the single biggest deficiency- too many players without the smarts to pick up complex blocking schemes. Fat Mike consistently gets beat by anyone with speed to the outside. F
  23. nice try- that would be Ronnie Harmon
  24. Fat Mike is too slow to pass protect from the right side, let alone from the left side. The more time Peters gets on the field the better.
