  1. Ferentz is only tied to Iowa as long as his son is still in college. He's a Belichek disciple and a former OL coach- who will have serious say in fixing the OL
  2. if his son is done at Iowa, Kirk Ferentz is the man. Another from the Beleichek stable and a former OL coach to boot.
  3. the game has passed Marv by. His style worked with a very veteran team who didn;t need development. His philosophy of sitting young players for 2 or 3 years just won't work in today's NFL when you absolutely need your yound cheap players to perform quickly. In addition, Marv's selection of Walt Corey as DC and refusal to fire him cost the Bills a Super Bowl ring.
  4. all the more reason to have your OC in the box so he can see what is happening on the field, as it happens.
  5. Teflon got it backwards. You want the smart white guys on the OL so they can figure out the line calls and you want the athletic guys on the DL. How many teams in the NFL have 2 white guys on their DL. let alone 4 who are starting?
  6. those plays weren't in the pre-game script.
  7. probably would have been more effective if Teflon Tom had the phone plugged in and used it to make a few calls of his own. JoeY H was gone and so was TEflon's draft strategy.
  8. I wasn't aware that the Bills needed an overrated, inexperienced QB with a huge contract. What they do need is a lot of help on their OL, DL, LB, WR & secondary. The smart move is to trade the pick and the headaches and risk in exchange for multiple players
  9. yeah - but those other guys never get throw passes in real games Parrish is a Kordell Stewart slash fantasy of Mularkey.
  10. The Bills don't draft the Qbs, but trade to a team that does want them.
  11. it's not just 1 pick. From a top 5 spot in a good draft, the bills should turn that either into an elite differnce maker or trade down and acquire multiple picks to restock this team. Winning a game or two to placate the underachiving vets should be a very low priority.
  12. maybe he should have hd Roscoe Parrish throw the ball instead
  13. Not unless Teflon Tom puts an actual OL in front of JP. If not he will nothing but roadkill.
  14. maybe because Teflon Tom was so sure HE was going to draft Joey H that he did very little to cultivate possible trading partners before the draft. Maybe TD should invest in a phone on which he could make outgoing calls The consensus is that nobody wanted to trade up - but that was due to the extortion offers typically demanded. The BIlls could have asked for reasonable compensation to move down around 10 and made out big time by not being stuck with an overpaid, over weight RTwho is still skewing their salary cap.
  15. that's what massivew amounts of steroids will do for you
  16. yeah-those 2 extra regular season games they will have to win don't mean diddly either
  17. The focus here is on the "savings" when it should be on the dead money that will hit the cap for players no longer on the team. For Mike Williams this is $7.8 million and $5.3 for Moulds according to Clumpy's numbers. That's about 15% of the entire salary cap and doesn't include what their repalcements will cost. yeah-Teflon Tom got us out of cap hell and done a great job of managing the cap, but the playoff run of the last few years was worth it
  18. letting him go was the right move. Not drafting Vince Wilfork to fill the vacancy was the mistake. Wilfork also would have allowed them to play some 3-4
  19. Vince Wilfork oh wait, we passed on him last year.
  20. sure- Teflon Tom's secret weawpon - Ben Sobiesky may finally be healthy next year.
  21. he will be playing LT next year once he gets some experience.
  22. it took Ryan Fitzgerald, part of 1 game to throw for over 300 yards and lead a 21 point comeback to an overtime win yesterday. But he has a brain. Matt Schaub threw for over 300 in his first few games. He also has a brain. Kyle Orton probably hasn't thrown for over 200 yards, but he's 8-3. Too bad neither had the awsome physical skills of JP to warrant giving up 3 draft picks for. Maybe our coaches someday will let JP do what he does best- but don't hold your breath.
  23. unless Teflon Tom was involved. He loves to overpay for QBs
  24. Teflon Tom threw Williams under the bus to save his job. If he was going to fire him, he should have done in mid-season. However, he kept GW and the players played hard all season. So much so that they beat Carolina and lost out on Julius Peppers and instead got --Fat Mike.
  25. we have a winner!!! The biggest problem with our OL is that the IQ of several of them is less than stellar. Fat Mike and fatter Bennie alternate plays when they can;t figure out who to block which totally destroys the play. Playing LG is not rocket science.
