  1. when he earns it he hasn't done any real stupid things yet like extend Bledsoe for big cash and have the fans believe it was a pay "cut".
  2. that's because Winfield's $12 million cap hit drops from the equation.
  3. yeah - that must be why they're considering Brett Maxie instead of Dom Capers
  4. if you hire Ted, you better bring Wade to be his DC
  5. Other than QB, there is no position that is more difficult to fill than LT. Peters will eventually be the LT because he has the quickness and agility and size to handle elite speed rushers. A premier LT who can handle a premier pass rusher 1 on 1 allows the offense so many options, including not requiring the TE to stay in to help block. Peters will have much more value as a stud OT than a TE who never sees the ball in a Mullarkey run offfense.
  6. the difference is that the Jerry Gray filled their quota for a minority candidate. The Bills are under no such requirement for coordinators.
  7. The problem is investing $50 million in a guy and then let him run around like a maniac. It may work in college, but he will eventually get maimed in the NFL. That's a big chunk of your salary cap that will soon be sitting in the trainers room.
  8. a big reason the Bills imploded last year is the incredible waste of draft picks spent on trying to find a QB, instead of building an OL. With your scenario, the draft picks spent in the last few years for our current QBnow total: 2006 #1 Vince Young 2006 #3 move up for Young 2005 #1 move up for Losman 2004 #2 Losman 2004 #5 move up for Losman 2004 #1 Bledsoe This doesn't even include the #1 and #4 for the failed Rob Johnson experiment and the#3 for Billy Joe Hobert Build an OL and the QB will come
  9. If Brett Maxie is any indication, it looks like whoever it is will cheap and inexperienced. Marv should be building the best staff possible, not hiring guys on a shoestring. If MM has significant input, is he suffering from Teflonitus and looking to hire a staff which does not threaten his position?
  10. Money shouldn't be a concern for Capers since Houston will continue to pay him at his HC salary, less the amount paid by the Bills.
  11. Titans have to maintain a public interest in Young in order to maximize thier trade leverage. Rumor has it that the QB they really want is Jake Cutler who they could still get after multiple trade downs.
  12. makes no sense to move up in this draft to (lose another potential starter) take a OT when its the deepest draft in many yeras at OT. Ferfuson is arguably not even the best OT long term prospect in the draft. He plays light at 290 by NFL standards and has injury concern about his knee.
  13. good choice- a former Bill who has failed miserably in 2 stops after Buffalo. If you bring in Cottrell, you better bring Wade Phillips back with him.
  14. Ted Cottrell has been living off of his reputation under Wade for too long now. He has been fired by 2 teams for his incompetance since leaaving the Bills, why in the world would you want him back?
  15. A lot of the good he generated was wasted with extending Drew when he shouldn't have. Drew had already he was not the future. He could have cut ties with Drew with no cost. Instead he paid out $8.75 in new cash which resulted in $5 mil dead money when he cut Drew ONE year later.
  16. any Houston statements committing to Bush are to preserve the value of trading the pick. If they show no interest in Bush, then teams can trade behind them and still get Bush.
  17. especially with a rookie QB
  18. Why is it a given that a 5th round pick (Preston) is good enough to start next year? With that logic, Geisinger will be starting as well.
  19. DL must be addressed in the draft because quality DL are much harder to find. On offense, you can scheme to mitigate your shortcomings. However, on defense, if you can't stop the run-you have no chance.
  20. Marv should do everyone a favor and find some players that can motivate themselves
  21. sure couldn't gp downfield against the Steelers they didn't think so either and they dared him to beat them deep with continual blitzes.
  22. the guy stll weighs close to 400 pounds. best shape of his life is not saying much and is far from what is needed to be dominant in the NFL
  23. they said the same thing about Pat Riley in Miami. never happen
  24. only 1 small problem our OL is too dumb and slow to make it work not mention that our TE has not played a single down in the NFL or that our QB has enough trouble figuring out the basics other than that- the plan is great
  25. Bennie is too dumb to play OL in the NFL.
