  1. tennessee will trade down and take Cutler
  2. Kirk Ferentz should have been pursued like the Dolphins did with Nick Saban. He is a difference maker.
  3. because he's not a very good coordinator?
  4. after Polian left, Marv was VP in charge of football operations for the Bills, including being the boss of Butler. Butler was the talent evaluator, but Marv had final say on the picks. The Bills never made any draft day trades during this time and the stated rationale was that they would let the draft come to them and they would stay true to their draft board. This fits Marv's conservative philosphy. He is not a wheeler dealer like Teflon Tom who was looking to get on Sports Center for the next shocking personnel move.
  5. teams are starting the propaganda hype to increase the likelihood that someone will trade with them. if Bills were serious about a trade, they would be interested in Cutler too
  6. you are correct. Since Ngata, Brick and Hawk will be gone, and Marv will not trade, Wiliams will be the pick. If he can't converet to corner, think Henry Jones type SS who will shut down the TE. Safee pick in that you wil get 1st production if only as nickle back.
  7. he should be tagged. Bils can afford to pay the $5.8 if he takes the tender. But they are also free to shop him for a 1st rounder. Look for Jimmy Williams to be the Bills pick if Ngata and Brick are gone as expected.
  8. If there are no surprises in the top 7, the Bills will likely be picking Williams. If Nate stays, he could play S. Bigger version of Henry Jones, who could shut down TEs At a minimum will play in nickel coverages in 2006
  9. what he really needs is a hair cut. Samson he is not. He should at least look like a leader, instead of a rag-a-muffin.
  10. Marv won't trade. Probably stuck with the CB- who will provide return help at least as a nickle back. It would be nice to have a real TE, though.
  11. he moves really well for his size
  12. Trading partner or not- Marv will not trade on draft day
  13. another criminal from the U with a torn up knee. good thing TD is not directing the draft
  14. but Fitzpatrick has a brain- probably a bigger consideration than pure physical attributes
  15. He is probaably assessing whether there is any chance he can get teh HC job in Oakland.
  16. Marv will not trade on draft day. Up or down
  17. Marv topped out at about $500,000 per year. Top coaches were near $2 mil
  18. Based on Fairchild's history with the Rams, his philosophy may not fit with JP's talents. The Rams utilized a pocket passer who made quick decisions which doesn;t exactly fit with JP's strengths. It looks like Mullarkey had a vision of a mobile QB who could run his gadget plays. The upside he saw with JP may not fit with Fairchild's need for a qucik thinking pocket passer.
  19. Fletcher is too small to play LB in a 3-4. You need much bigger, more physical inside LBs because they will be taking on the OGs.
  20. The Rams offense under both Warner and Bulger is designed to be executed by a pocket passer making quick decisions. Unfortunately this does not seem to be JP's strong suit. JP may become a casualty of a change in offensive philosophy from Mullarkey who wanted a mobile gadget QB to the more traditional Ram style. But then again, maybe Fairchild likes those trick plays
  21. Aaron Brooks Patarick Ramsey is worth a look
  22. Heimerdinger got out of his contract specifically to take over for Kubiak in Denver. There are definitely more DC candidates than OC candidates this year. That's why Wyche will be the Bills ace in the hole.
  23. Bills would be in a lot better shape if Teflon Tom had used that package of picks to move up for Big Ben instead of moving up for Losman.
  24. and who would fit your description of a bona fide, established guy who wanted to work as a OC? The best candidate is probably on the staff as QB coach already. Martz is holding out for a HC job.
  25. Haslet signed with the Rams as DC
