  1. It's not the winning streak. He totally reversed the despair created by Wannstash. The team believes in itself and he has been extremely aggressive in bringing in his kind of players. Unlike Mullarkey, Saban controls the personnel side as well so he won;t be sandbagged by a Teflon Tom trying to outsmart the world with stupid-ass player moves.

  3. they could use it for Buffalo's other major league teams
  4. Saban turned the entire organization around in less than 1 year. Unfortunately, the Dolphins will soon be the team the AFC East will be chasing.
  5. give this argument up. The only significance of a QB being left handed is that he can't see the RT missing his block to give up a sack. He played RT where he did not face the defenses's best pass rushers. Defensive LE are generally bigger and slower. There will be a huge transition to play LT in the NFL and he may never make the adjustment. At a minimum, it will be extremely unlikely that he will be starting at LT in 2006. Jonathon Ogden, a premier LT in college, did not even start at LT for the Ravens as a rookie.
  6. Joe Piscopoe was not part of the early SNL entourage. must be a little before your time.
  7. and Ngata could love the burgers as much as Fat Sam and teh recently departed Fat Mike. large players with poor work habits, weak dedication and large appetites are always a concern-especially in the top 10.
  8. too bad JP's career will depend on a couple of tought road games. The fans will already be screaming for his head in the home opener.
  9. good plan- sell the team to raise the cash to buy the annuity and pay the capital gains tax early.
  10. "Protecting the blind side of a left handed QB" is the lamest possible argument out there. How does which hand the QB throw with change the fact that most premier pass rushers line up across from the LT (not the RT). The best OL plays LT in order to take on these elite pass rushers. The LT needs to be much more athletic in order to match the speed and moves of these elite defenders. Teams do not play their best OL as RT. You may want to ask yourself why Justice started his career at RT when the right handed Carson Palmer was playing QB.
  11. Instead of selling the naming rights for cash, the Bills should use the naming rights as a recruiting tool. I'm sure the Bills had a shot some top OL talent if part of teh package would have included "Steve Hutchinson Stadium" for a year.
  12. yeah - Alph should be using that annual gift tax excluison that lets him mmove $11,000 per year tax free. In now time, he will have sheltered the $700 million value of the team.
  13. you could argue that- but you would wrong-esprecailly in 2006. Davis doesn't block very well and would need considerable seasoning to become effective in the passing game as an NFL TE. Being big and fast is only part of the formula for success.
  14. Davis is a huge WR- his blocking will not help the Bills OL problems. Pope would be better value later in the draft -he is better blocker, bigger target altjhough not as explosive as Davis.
  15. so the Bills need to be more creative. Bills could lure a coveted free agent to Buffalo by promiding to put the players name on the stadium for a year in exxchange for a lower signing bonus. Not too many teams could compete with that kind of ego enhancer.
  16. Since all the staff in the article were here under TD, why do you presume that the procedures and philosophy are much improved now?
  17. are those Eric Winston Lights or Winston Justice Lights?
  18. Justice has only played RT. He will have a huge adjustment to play the left side and is further hampered by having short arms to fend off elite pass rushers. Not to say they won't take him, but don't expect any immediate contributions from him at LT in 2006 - which is absolutely necessary from the #8 selection.
  19. They should trade down in the first But they should also package some picks to move up from the 5th into the 3rd round. Th plan should be too accumulate as many 1st day picks as possible.
  20. Assuming Golisano buys the Bills, what revenue streams is going to be able to add to provide the additional cash flow (afdter paying the debt service on his purchase price) to keep the Bills competitive with the large market teams? Even with a new stadium, there is not a business core in WNY that will guarantee that the new luxury boxes will be fully occupied at NFL market rates.
  21. The NFL is only using the threat of moving a team to LA as an extortionist tool to extract new stadiums for teams that want them. Ralph is finally going to join the other other owners in getting that free handout. Unfortunately, even if a new stadium is built with fancy luxury boxes, there art not enough corporate dollars in WNY to purchase the boxes.
  22. what have either done on a football field to show that they can handle elite NFL rushers from the LT position? Justice has to switch positions to start with and NFL speed is far different than a college player coming from the right side.
  23. as good as Ogden became, he played G as a rookie
  24. The similarity is that both guys played a position in college (RT) that does not justify top 10 money in the NFL. However, the picks are being justified since the players are good enough to switch to teh left side to play a very difficult position with absolutely no experience at LT.
  25. No- but we will probably draft Justice and then switch him to LG as he transitions to playing the left side of teh line - which he never played before.
