  1. His knee is not the problem He is lacking serious grey matter between his ears which he can;t overcome with his running anymore. not to mention, his leadership sucks. Cleo Lemon will be better than Culpepper.
  2. OR- since the draft is the way to build your team - then ALL of your picks become more valuable which means you don't want to give them up. Can't see how it becomes easier to trade down when teams have to give up more to move up. BTW- it would be stupid to give away Willis for less than a high second.- unless they get someones' else disgruntled starter quality player back at a reasonable contract.
  3. The order does not matter - both will be long gone before the Bills pick
  4. From Great Blue North Draft Report http://www.gbnreport.com/2007otprofiles.html Levi Brown, Penn State... 6-5, 323, 5.25, SR… One of the most productive offensive linemen in the country in a pretty good year at the position; Brown is a prototype road grader drive blocking with a powerful lower body; comes hard off the snap, keeps his pads low and really delivers a pop at the point of attack; really locks onto defender; has decent straight-line quickness and can make a block in space; adequate pass blocker with long arms who is a long way around; has an assertive punch but doesn’t always get much arm extension; tends to be a little heavy-footed and will struggle to stay with fast outside speed rushers; also doesn’t always keep feet alive and has limited change of direction agility. Hard worker with weight-room strength. Summary: Potential mid-to-late first round prospect for 2007, although more a RT prospect because of lack of pure athleticism. This is consensus bad draft for CBs. There are no can't miss CBs in this draft that teams would be willing to move up for. Hall has been the highest rated CB and he was consistently abused by good WRs. Revis wasn't challenged much in the Big East - so his productivity is questionable. Hardly a can't miss prospect.
  5. If Levi Brown could play LT in the NFL-then he would have value. Too bad he's slated to play RT or OG. Not enough value to move up. Revis is one of a bunch of CBs- one of which will be available 10-15 picks later. Hell-Revis may be available later as well. Highly unlikely anyone will be willing to give up much to move to #12.
  6. neither of those players will be available in those slots.
  7. Bills should take the best player available, just not a MLB because we all know that rookies are too dumb to start and be effective
  8. The Bills issue w-2s to the players. Independent contractors do not get W-2s.
  9. Ralph may set the direction, but Littman makes all financial decisions regarding the Bills and Ralph's other companies - he just stays out of the limelight.
  10. there's no more than 8 blue chip players- the talent from 9 - 20 is pretty much interchangeable. it's fantasy to believe unknown teams will come out of the woodwork to throw picks at the Bills to get a player they could 10 spots later.
  11. I think they named him the starter to increase his trade value so they put a package together to send him to the Raiders for Randy Moss and picks based on the input of that genius Mike Tice.
  12. who will be on the board that will be entice another team to trade up for?
  13. Gil gets paid for this crap. what a waste. at least we know who the fattest QB is
  14. yeah- god forbid that the player actually spend some of the $20 mil he has been paid for medical treatment and insurance premiums.
  15. Okoye would be the best option, but I doubt he will be there at #12- especially if he has a good combine. if they can't trade down, most likely looking at LB or CB. Levi Brown is an option- however my gut says they are willing to live Pennington and Butler at RT and draft a OG in 3rd round.
  16. Cam Cameron will give a serious look to Cleo Lemon who he was very high on in SanDiego until AJ traded him to piss off Marty.
  17. The myth is that you need a big, fat DT to stop the run. You need the entire front 7 to operate in sync to attack the line of scrimmage. When the DTs attack the backfield, cut back lanes will open up. That is why you need LBs that are also adept at attacking and tackling to fill those holes. the cover-2 needs athletic players that can run to the ball. Fat and slow with bad instincts is a recipe for disaster.
  18. Maybe TKO will man up and take a pay cut to reflect his current production so the Bills can keep him around.
  19. Players are employees of the NFL team, not independent contractors. Players do typically insure the non-guaranteed portion of their contracts.
  20. Any money that is guaranteed, even if called salary, is treated the same as a signing bonus and amortized.
  21. Unless the Bills braintrust is committed to returning to play the cover-2 as it is designed to be played. Maybe the shortcoming in the first half of last season was due to breaking in the 2 rookies safeties. maybe the LBs sucked in pass coverage maybe the DL wasn't up to speed with constantly attacking the backfield. maybe they feel resouces would be better spent on the fromt 7 and not on the corners - just like Bill Parcells, especially in a defense designed to minimize the talent needed at CB.
  22. you are correct. it is too expensive to buy play makers in FA- if they are even available. The supporting cast can come from FA, but the studs need to be drafted.
  23. Bills LBs are a mess they need one on the first day. my guess is Willis gets more hype after the combine.
  24. On a positive note, at least the DBs the Bills draft highly actually do turn out to be valuable. The Bills could be like the Dolphins and draft Jamar Fletcher and Jason Allen in the 1st round. Having a good player, although a CB, seems to be a better result than drafting a turd like Eric Flowers or Mike Williams
  25. Players may buy insurance on the non-guaranteed portion of their contracts. I don;t know if the team insures them. In anmy event, any insurance proceeds do nothing to reduce the massive cap hit for a non-producing player.
