Drafting 2 more OL is a waste of resources since they won;t keep more than 10.
they would have to cut loose some talent before knowing if they can develop.
They may unless they move up to #10 to be sure to get Willis.
If Willis and Okoye are gone, DB may be the best value since I don't like the Lynch injury risk.
Carriker would be an option but they would probably have to trade one of the DL we already have since they won;t keep more than 8.
Okoye will be long gone by #12.
Bills will stop the run by getting LBs that will actually fill the cut back lanes as our DTs disrupt the backfield. All 4 DL will be attacking the backfield and causing confusion.
Willis is key to manning the middle so Bills will trade up to #10 to leapfrog SF.
Puz has no chance to be effective at MLB in the cover-2 because of his lack of range.
He won;t be able to play WLB because he's too slow and would have to bench Ellison- thus creating another LB hole.
He's not strong enough to play SLB.
Puz's lack of speed was masked by playing in the overrated Big 10 where low gear is the norm.
If Willis is gone, that would not be a bad pick. The cover-2 demands a good pass rush.
Anderson would also start some trade talk whoch would allow the Bills to move down.
And we would be back to having a LB making lots of tackles 10 yards downfield.
no thanks
Pos would fit better as an inside LB in a 3-4, not an outside LB in a cover-2.
Cover 2 needs speed.
Willis has both speed and instincts and log arms for pass coverage.
and he plays MLB
The main premise of the cover-2 is for the front 4 to disrupt the backfield.
Having a DT play on the nose doesn;t seem to be a requirement.
Actualy moving the DTs around based on the skill would give the advantage to the defense.
I would expect to a see any combination of DTs on the field over the course of a season.
why?
Why is everyone hung up on always having a DT line up on the center?
It would seem to be effective to have both DTs line up in the gaps and force the OL to stop them from destroying the play in the backfield.
He may have good instincts.
However, this defense is predicated on speed.
Poz may know where to do, but he won't be able to get there.
The knee injury has caused too big a drop in production for the Bills to risk a 1st round pick on him.
Willis could be an Urlacher type of player in the cover-2.
Poz may be functional at WLB but that puts the undersized Ellison on the bench. Not to mention that Poz is a slow white guy with a blown out knee.
Any number of RBs in the 3rd round and Willis make a far better package than any group of plaeyrs relying on Poz to be teh anchor of your defense.
you make me laugh.
We have Coy Wire so we don't need a starting caliber LB in the 1st
The single biggest hole on this team is a dominating MLB. They will draft Willis and they will proabably trade up to #10 to do it.
Any number of RBs available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds (even later) can be productive in a RBBC. My guess is they also sign Chris Brown as the third member of that RBBC.
because he's 30 years old, he tended to wear down
they have 2 #1 picks they want to play at DT
he is more of a penetrator while they want an anchor type as their 3rd DT.
Being a historian, Marv will remember that the addition of Cornelius Bennett's speed at LB was a huge difference maker.
He will be convinced to trade up to #10 with Houston for Balimore 2008 #3 to draft Willis and fill the only gaping hole on the team.
They will take Brandon Jackson or Lorenzo Booker in the 3rd round.
on the contrary-
a new owner would be happy for the excuse to move the team to a more profitable city with a state of the art stadium extorted from the taxpayers as part of the package.
where is the new hole?
they already concluded Spikes was not the answer in their defense.
Just having a name on a roster does not change that fact.
Bills will draft Willis.
Willis is THE draft.
Bills need only give up 100 points to move to #10 to ensure they get him.
Since teh MLB is so critical to the success of teh cover-2, it is essential they get a potential stud playmaker at MLB.
Bills will draft Willis.
The difference in speed and athleticism between Willis and Pos is ridiculous. You can get a slow white guy with a leg injury anywhere in the draft. Timmons would have more upside to play on the outside.
