Teflon Tom is no longer making the picks for the Bills.
-
in this mock- Hill gone by the time we pick in 2nd.

The Falcons are the #8 pick and are looking to draft a S.

Jason Allen sucks as a S and has now been moved to CB by Miami. -
Would it be surprising if Miami traded up for Quinn?

yeah - those 34 year old LBs do carry a long shelf life!! KC wants a 2nd for Trent Green maybe they should share their delusional fantasies and swap Zach for Green straight up. -
My problem is not that he is a backup. He's a great fantasy back, but maybe not such a good real NFL RB. It's that I have serious doubts if he can do any of the other critical things a feature back needs to do other than purely running with the rock. like blitz pickup - which will get JP killed blocking running pass patterns recognizing blitzes and adjusting to play changes. If he is so good, even as a backup, why didn't SD have him do more when they did play him? Maybe because they feared getting their QB killed. He's not worth the contract and the draft picks needed to find out for sure.

You'd best be seeing a dentist, you have a serious absess in your logic. You are probably correct that there is not a lot of difference of talent between #12 - 40. HOwever, not because this is a deep draft. This is actually a very weak draft with small pockets of good players. It is deep for WRs but very shallow in MLBs and RBs. Most mid round players from last years draft would be going 2-3 rounds higher in this draft. The Bills need impact playmakers. The only way to get them is through the draft. Willis will be a playmaker especially in this defense. You don't pass on him for more backups and training camp fodder. There's plenty of that already with our later day picks.

The Dolphins cut loose 5 starters or near starters including their LT. Hadnot and Carey are all they've got. They have serious holes to fill- but are counting on thier OL coach to produce miracles. (gee- sound familiar) -
Here's an interesting mock that should make Bill NYC happy. http://nfldraftguys.com/features/2007_NFL_...Round_Bloom.php The Bills picks are below. BUF 12 Patrick, Willis, LB 43 Sidney, Rice, WR 74 Antonio, Pittman, RB 92 Josh, Beekman, G/C 111 Anthony, Arline, CB 184 Martrez, Milner, TE 222 Toby, Korrodi, QB 239 Matt, Trannon, WR I do think the Bills will look for a dropping WR in the 2nd. I think I would take Brandon Jackson over Pittman. Bills may take Hughes over Beekman in the 3rd. the 2nd WR is overkill. they need another LB somewhere in the draft.

Willsi does not have a bad knee, Pos does. With many options available, too risky to take a speed LB with a bad wheel. It may holdup today, but what about after a few NFL hits. no thanks Tim shaw would be a better value since he outplayed Pos last year but didn't have the name so didn't get the hype.

If Peterson is still Avail at 10....

If they move up to #10, it will be to take Willis. draft a RB like Branson Jackson or Booker in 3rd round and sign Chris Brown. -
I like Willis. the rest is a mess. McCauley sucks in zone coverage. Brandon jackson would be a better RB in 3rd round.

Is Angelo Crowell a reasonable prospect at MLB?
obie_wan replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
gotta agree. Crowell played inside in a 3-4 in college - not MLB. when he backed up fletcher 2 years ago, the Bills were not playing the cover 2- so all the fine points of dropping in deep zone were not being applied at the time. Willis is the key to the Bills draft. they will seriously consider moving up to #10 to get him before SF does. -
they already have Ginn on their team- his name is Troy Williamson. they don't need another
-
\\\\ If they can't get Willis, it would not surprise me if they a took a WR in rouond 1 - they can get their RB in round 3. they can get a LB later, but it will be to fill a roster spot- won;t be a sure fire starter.

Tennessee still talking to San Diego about Turner.
obie_wan replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OR he's not as good as the media is hyping him to be -
with a deep WR class, no one is going to trade up for Ted Ginn
-
Hunt and Walker don;t even qualify for day 1. Agree to wait unitl 3rd round, but Brandon Jackson or Lorenzo Booker are better options.
-
so if the good players are gone at #12, what team will be moving up for the crap that we don't want?
-
Tim Shaw will be the better pick LB from Penn State. More value and production for where selected and not injured. Pos is done after at a high NFL level after the knee injury.
-
that is why the Bills will trade up to #10 to get Willis if they thinnk SF will take him.

obie_wan replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he has a man-crush on Crowell as MLB-even thogh he's never played the position all others are not worthy- especially the "too dumb to play football" Willis As you say- the Bills were willing to play, not 1, but 2 rookies at safety - but they wouldn;t start Willis at MLB??? -

you are correct, sir. even if he is a rookie and too dumb to know where to line up -

SanDiego is not desperat to sell - but the Bills are not desperate to buy either. They have other options to fill their RB hole. SD's leverage with the Bills drops after the draft, because the Bills will obtain a back on day 1 who should at a minimum fit into a RBBC. In addition to that rookie, they can pursue Chris Brown, Corey Dillon, Ricky Williams to fill out their RBBC - so they aren't desperate for Turner. After the draft, AJ gets nothing to help him this year- plus he has to replace Turner as LT's backup -

Maybe they confirmed that he is the clone of Kenny Davis. Good runner but severely lacking in the other aspects critical to being a feature back, like blocking, blitz recognition, blitz pickup, pass routes, pass receiving, intelligence thus waiting for the price to come down to a 3rd round pick as draft day approaches -

I think you have it backwards. AJ is under the gun to get Turner traded before the draft. If he trades him after the 2007 draft he won't get any resopurces back that he can use this year to replace Turner or otherwise supplement their Super Bowl run. The best he gets are some 2008 picks. The Bills can wait until after the draft - if they don't draft a top notch back - they can re-open discussions with Chris Brown and call Miami about Rickly Williams while discussing the matter with AJ.
