  1. or we could have signed Bryant Johnson for $2 mil so we had flexibility in drafting a WR
  2. If the Bills would spend high picks on the OL - they would not have to spend $75 mil on other team's castoffs. For the money invested in the line - they were pitiful on getting 1 yard to keep drives alive.
  3. then he dominates at G or T. he could immediately start at RG and Butler could backup at LT and put the Duke out to pasture. YOu do realize that if Peters gets hurt now, that your multi-talented rookie WR won;t see any passes because your QBs will be injured or running for their life.
  4. The only reason the Bills HAD to draft Lynch in the first round was they got rid of all other options and provided themselves no backup plan.
  5. For any receiver to be a factor in the redzone, the team actually has to use plays designed to throw the ball into teh endzone. Now that Fairchild is gone, all of the WRs on the rosters become much better red zone threats than last year because Turk will hopefully throw to the end zone. A tall WR is not the only answer. A top flight TE is probably more of a need than a tall WR.
  6. wow 12 sacks combined with our scheme to rotate DL on every other snap - that leaves a bunch of down time where we have no rush. each will also be 2 years older. Take the impact defender over the WR at #11
  7. you acquire impact playmakers in the draft - because other teams don;t let the real playmakers get to free agency. The Bills have historically wasted top round talent on marginal role players and blown their chance to acquire difference makers. Taking a WR at #11 from this class is more of the same. Harvey, Rivers or Albert should be the pick
  8. well if Marv was still here - I guess overpaying for maginal talent would be the most likely course. Hoepfully, Brandon has raised the bar and is looking for impact players to sink big money in .
  9. Crowell is a god when you compare him to Coy Wire and the pizza boy. not quite so good when you compared to an impact player
  10. you are correct. Next year we can reach for an inferior LB after Crowell leaves in free agency. This year our 1st round is better spent reaching for the inferior WR.
  11. maybe they concluded that their college scouts suck and they would have wasted the picks anyway
  12. good thing we replaced all those talent evaluators that helped TD make those stupid selections
  13. Albert may made a great center since he is smart enough to make the line calls and big enough to handle the bull rusher and thhletic enough to pull. He is light years ahead of the Duke at C- even though he never played the position in college. At a minimum, he will push to start at G and is a better backup LT than anything else we have on the roster. If he takes over for Butler, Butler has some experience as a LT and is also better than Chambers.
  14. You are drafting Rivers with the upside of being an impact playmaker. Even if he does not start from day 1, he will play a lot in a rotation. Passing up impact players just to draft an inferior WR - because he is tall is plain dumb. Especially with the historical trend that the WR won't produce significantly in year 1 (or year 2 for taht matter)
  15. Thiw would be an outstanding move with JP. Get rid of at least a marginal NFL QB and use a 5th round scrub rookie as the Bills back up to Trent Edwards.
  16. Rivers, Harvey or Albert would all be better picks than any WR at #11
  17. nobody "wants" Ryan except maybe the Ravens. He is not that good a QB - but he lucked into a draft year with guys that are even worse.
  18. I guess that would one heck of an incentive to implement a rookie wage scale like the NBA to avoid the ridiculous holdouts and contract demands of the top 5 NFL picks.
  19. Exactly- Posters who think a 5th round pick that will be training camp fodder is better than a former starter as backup QB are delusional.
  20. hopefully at #9 so a real playmaker like Ellis will fall to the Bills.
  21. The big differnce is when the Colts draft a WR high, that player produces on the field. The Bills have wasted 2nd round picks on WRs that are not starter quality - which is why they will probably blow another high pick on an overrated WR that will again under-perform on the field.
  22. How is it a bad thing that they could have had a bona fide NFL WR for 1 year for less than $2mil. Another stupid move by the Bills if they end up reaching for WRs and missing out on real playmakers in the 1st round.
  23. The Rams are on the clock and should sign whoever they can. The league has no reason to delay the signing other than to placate the network televising the draft.
  24. it is absolutely stupid to not have the player signed before the draft to avoid the massive holdout and extortion demands to accompany the top unsigned player. Rams can trade the pick now if there are any takers. Nothing will change between now and the draft to prevent them signing their guy now and saving huge money in the process. Doplphis signed Long for LESS money than Russell got last year instead of teh 15% increase the agents are looking for.
