  1. not to worry we have the Duke as our backup C
  2. The Giants beat the Bills in SB 25 with a journeyman at QB, a retread at RB, bad WRS and CBs because they dominated at the line of scrimmage
  3. I would much prefer that the front office recognize the importance of the OL and draft one early enough to matter instead of a bunch of special team scrubs and midgets/
  4. I really hope that front office does not think that a 7th round project is the answer THIS year at LT.
  5. Albert would have started somewhere on the OL and either he or Butler could have backed up at LT. Now Butler has to start and we have no LT except that turnstyle Chambers and a very green 7th round rookie
  6. and for almost every one of them, there are adjustments in scheme and personnel that can be used to get by. except for LT and the problem is compounded because you put your QB at risk because you had to have that 5'9" CB???
  7. Except if McGee goes down, your QB does not become a pinball on his way to the hospital.
  8. sure they overspent on OL last year- and will continue to do so - since they refuse to draft them. Even Peters was not drafted. How painful would it have been to draft an OL somewhere before round 7
  9. Brandon Albert would have been good insurance but a guy in the 3rd or 4th round who could be developed would have been nice - like in stead of the midget CB in the 4th round
  10. except the still huge ones at C and backup LT. Most of teh starters from last year would have replenished the ST - maybe they should focus on players that may actually be able to start on offense or defense - if the need required (like last year)
  11. that's where we took our only OL acqusition of the day - which highlights the importance the Bills continually put on the position in the draft.
  12. If Peters gets hurt, you can kiss those 6 wins goodbye but we sure do have a lot of CBs
  13. not like we couldn't move up and give up a 6th or 7th round special teamer to get a backup at a critical weakness on the OL
  14. He was part of the Bills new strategy to draft BIG.
  15. the reason they spent megabucks is because they still ignore the OL in the draft EVERY year.. Our C sucks, the guy that was supposed to take his place-Merz- got cut, the Duke is our only backup on the inside and and we have no backup at the T spots. The pass blocking may have been better - but what was conversion % on 3rd and short - like last in the league so yeah- I guess we're golden. I peters gets hurt - Trent won't be far behind
  16. so why not an OL from round 3-5, instead of a flyer late in addition to the total project they took late. The OL makes up 8-10 of the 53 man roster. the Bills sure don;t commit the same % of resources to maintain the position
  17. it's the same plan that has bee so successful in our latest playoff run. Ignore the OL and draft small CBs early and often.
  18. Exactly Drafting guys whose upside is special teams is pretty short sighted. Which is why the Bills donot produce any late round gems that can actually produce on the field.
  19. you bet its a Marv draft- CBs early and often and again ignore the OL. they'll be bringing back Jerry Ostrowski to overpay him before long
  20. He knows you win on the line of scrimmage. He invested mega-bucks in his QB and does not want him crippled by using scumbags on the OL. Contrast this with the Bills approach where they consistently ignore the OL on draft day.
  21. Our D will be more difficult to learn if he has played primarily man coverage in the past. Switching to a zone mentality will requie some tima or some breakdowns in coverage. He will probably start playing the slot which is primarily man coverage and easier to transition to
  22. chance are that he will never be a starter. but if he can generate pressure as a 3rd down specialist - he is worth the 3rd rounder
  23. don't make me laugh about the pizza boy being an NFL caliber LB
