Butler was a victim of his refusal to trade picks to move around to get the players needed at the right value. His philosophy was to stay put and let the draft play out. In this year, he badly miscalculated the availability of the safeties. He should have moved down from their 1st rouod pick and picked one in early 2nd round, because by the time their 2nd round pick rolled around - he panicked and reached for Tilman.

Regardless of your rant, Butler is the best option on the team to take over at LT if Peters is injured for an extended period. The fact that we would have no one to take his place at RG shows how thin the OL is - and how stubborn the front office is in spending mid round draft picks on the OL.

I can't help it that Atlanta screwed up their draft. Atlanta wasted the #3 pick on a QB no better than Henne and Brohm who went at the end of the 2nd round.
