  1. I would think Brady's ability to foster the cheating was a big incentive for him to replace Drew. For whatever his shortcomings on the field, Drew always struck me a standup guy who would have had a problem with the outright cheating. Now Doug Flutie on the other hand would have fit right in .
  2. Being undrafted AND a free agent, can't see how the Bills pass up on this guy. He fits their historical OL specifications
  3. can't wait till Hillary gets into office and has the govt take over oil production.
  4. Bills will probably keep 6 WRs and drop a backup OL The starters never get hurt and the backups are worthless anyway.
  5. that is the Bills way. Surprised they didn't give away JP to create another hole at QB
  6. why waste high picks on OL when you can get perffectly good starters as undrafted free agents. we got us a backup LT, C and RG from the undrafted ranks- we are set. It worked for jason Peters - it will for anyone.
  7. As i posted before the draft, I would have taken Harvey, Rivers and Albert - in that order. Albert would have provided immediate insurance at LT and maybe started ahead of Fowler immediately.
  8. even better would be to use the chart the NFL has used for years to assign value to drafat picks - the draft pick trade value chart. Players picked at the top of the 1st round use much more of a team's assets than one picked in 3rd round.
  9. NO WAY After a couple of practices at his new position, our C problems will be solved How could i have doubted the master plan for the OL? While looking to add 4 CBS this offseason - they knew they did not have to waste any high draft picks on OL when they had this kid stashed on the practice squad.
  10. and all along I thought the Bills had no plan to fiz our problem at C. Little did I know they had an UDFA gem who is changing positions to take over at C.
  11. at least the gun should help him get separation from those pesky 5'9" CBs
  12. The last 2 years of Bills drafts have not turned out as good as origianlly thought. Many of the players drafted within the last 2 years who started or looked promising have either been cut outright or had their replacements drafted already. Players like Youboty, Wright, Merz, Pennington, Ellison all looked great inititally and earned Marv and the front office props. However, the Bills are still spending resources on the same positions.
  13. that would be Reggie Corner in the 4th and youboty in the 3rd 2 years ago.
  14. keeping Greer would force the Bills out of their comfort of drafting multiple CBs each and every year. They would be forced to actually address some other position like the OL. Can't see it happening Greer is toast! they may actually get rid of Greer this year to make space for a failed draft pick to avoid the total bust label being applied
  15. go find the discussion of why they thought draftng the 5'-9" Reggie Corner was such a good idea.
  16. NO Another failed pick by the never to be doubted brain trust. After just 2 years, Bills draft 3 CBs to replace him. Should have used the pick on an OL. Looks like the same deal with Dwayne Wright. After only 1 year, Bills draft another RB to replace a 4th rounder from prior year/ Might as well blow these 3rd and 4th rounders on OL instead of spinning their wheels.
  17. you are right- owners like Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones are all for sharing the wealth with the other small market teams
  18. Since Polian left, the Bills organization has been unable to identify and build a quality OL. Since Modrak has been with the Bills they have used 2 picks in the top 3 rounds on OL talent - whiffing with Mike Williams and hitting on the injury prone Jonas Jennings who was let go to our free agent dumping ground - SF. The Bills have drafted some players who looked promising, like Merz and Pennington, but were let go before 2 years. Maybe John Guy is to blame for his assessment of the free agents they have bruoght in like Tuten Reyes, Greg Jerman, Bennie Anderson, etc. Last year they got better than usual performance out of their OL free agents - but arguably the production was not consistent with an investment of $75 million. The 2008 version should be much better than previous versions, but is weak at C which has absolutely crippled the running game. If any starter goes down for more than a game or 2, the injury will wreck havoc with the Bills offense and Trent's development. But the front office experts are convinced that undrafted free agents are the answer at LT and the perennially lousy Preston of the Yulon is the answer at the interior - contrary to his actual performance on the field. Maybe Kugler will be difference -
  19. I agree Teams will need to use 2 and 3 DBs on Hardy immediately to make sure his tallness doesn;t burn teams deep. It just does not matter that our own 5'9" CB shut him down totally negating his height advantage. Teams will not shift coverage away from Evans until Hardy proves conclusively that he consistently will make big plays - and that won;t happen until he can beat the jam and get separation.
  20. yes - at least according to those analyzing the draft. This is one of the reasons it usually takes a WR 3 years to acclimate to the NFL.
  21. For Hardy to be effective as you describe, he will have to get off the line and get separation from the CB- 2 things which he struggled with at Indiana - and why he did not go in the 1st round. He has yet to prove he can do these basics, let alone learn the blitz adjustments and other intricacies which typically take 2-3 years to master.
  22. they probably could but being members of multi-billion $ corps, their interest would be in maximizing the return on their investment - which would require moving the team to a city where the county govt is not the largest employer. luxury boxes and additinal revenue streams from big business is the name of the game - and its not happening in Buffalo.
