  1. What gamble? The odds are astronomical that Drew will play even decent in a big game, especially on the road. The Bills right now finished 9-7 playing a dumbed-down offense designed to protect the QB from committinmg turnovers. By playing anyone other than Drew, the offense will become more productive by putting more pressure on the defense by running a comlete NFL offense. Keeping Drew as a crutch for JP will do more harm than good. Any time he would be forced to play would require the offense be dumbed down like it was this year so Drew wouldn't embarass himself.
  2. If Drew's family was so important to him, he would move them to Buffalo to live year round so he could spend time with them as he concentrated on leading the Bills. Drew talks a good game, but he has always taken his physical skills for granted and not committed himself to improving himself. Drew will finally be gone because he embarassed Teflon Tom and MM against their most hated former employer.
  3. The above proposal was a brilliant move by the owners. When the NHL declares an impasse and implements its own plan unilaterally next year, the Union will have a really tough time arguing bad faith. The owners can document their many efforts to compromise, including the last one which actually adopts the Union's proposal, although with limitation. The Owners have been adamant that they need a system which provides some certainty over payroll costs. The players have been too pig headed to even consider the economics facing the league. So, now the players will be forced to play under a hard cap, with rookie wage scale, revenue sharing, modified free agency and NO guaranteed contracts if they want to make even a fraction of what they making before. Some will go to Europe, but their compensation will be a fraction of what they made in the old NHL.
  4. didn't they take Micheal Jenkins high in last year's draft?
  5. the only way to pressure quickly enough is up the middle. Due to Fat Pat's age and weight, Bills may decide to go with Edwards and Anderson next to Adams. Wilfork would have been a great replacement for Williams. The DT's have to penetrate and force Brady out of his rhythm. Wasting more money and picks on DEs is not the answer.
  6. Milloy's mistake was not in taking the money, it was in opening his mouth and telling everyone about his piss poor attitude.
  7. no - we need a QB who can exploit the blitz and make big plays to score points. Drew can't execute screens and draws and is too slow to make decisions on where to throw downfield to beat the blitz. There is no risk to a defense when they blitz the Bills. The Eagles would have had a field day against Drew.
  8. it starts with our Hall of Fame QB and other prima donna "stars".
  9. Bledsoe is as washed up as Garcia. Drew just still has illusions of grandeur. TD should have signed Brian Griese last year and forced Drew to take a real pay-cut. Charlie Batch may be the low cost answer- not sure of his contract status.
  10. Drew will only take a pay cut if he is able to get more cash than he already is entitled to. For 2004, he "cut" his pay from $6 mil to $8.75 mil. No way does Drew voluntarity take less than what he is due. It's always been about the money with Drew. He's from the Lawyer Milloy school of thought.
  11. property is probably like new since Drew spends all his time in Portland and Montana.
  12. Bills paid Drew $8.75 mil in 2004. If Teflon Tom stopped wasting good money on a burned out QB, there would be plenty of cash to sign a quality LT. Jennings will be the best buy at LT for the production. Any free agent other than Pace/ Jones will be a crap shoot. Bills should stick with JJ who is a very solid LT. Teflon TOm will proably bet the house that new strenght coach will JJ onthe field.
  13. Charlie Batch would produce no worse than Drew and would cost about $5 mil less. It is mind boggling that Teflon Tom paid DRew $8.75 mil in 2004 to play like a rookie and not lose games (which he still managed to do against the Steelers 2nd stringers.)
  14. You've got to be kidding with Kurt Warner. He is as bad as Drew, not mention that he can't play the versatle offense that MM has designed for JP. Pointless to have a backup that can't execute the base offense.
  15. you must have selective hearing. JK did discuss Drew with Rome. there was a lengthy dialogue about how Brady stacked up against the great QBs, including Montana. Then Rome asked Jim about The Bills and the disappointment with losing the last game against the Steelers. Rome then asked about JP and Drew next year. Jim inidcated that Bills needed to play JP and that Drew was done physically.
  16. The LA talk is designed to give leverage to teams trying to extort new stadium money from their cities. The league and networks are better off not having a team in LA. Without a home team, no games are ever blacked out and they can cheery pick which games to play. there is no risk that the LA home team will ever stink, so they can aggressively market merchandise of the hot teams to the huge LA market.
  17. makes no sense to keep Drew as the backup since he can't run the offense that will be designed for JP. Ofensive braintrust was forced to run a dumbed down offense with no passing game more than 10 yards downfield because Drew was incapable of running anything else without making bad decisions, taking sacksa and turning it over. Let Drew continue his Hall of FAme career somewhere else where mediocrity is acceptable.
  18. also did mention that Drew has a big arm but not the athletic skills to be productive anymore.
  19. Surtain wants elite CB money (Champ Bailey). Phish need to cut $17 mil in cap money by March 1. Unlikely that Saban will be using the magic of JoBu to extend the contracts of already overpaid players to create cap room. Fins will probably have to cut or trade Madison or Surtain. Teams would be smart to let the Dolphins squirm,
  20. Bills will be much more effective running screens when they start a QB can execute those short, touch passes.
  21. Drew is physically and mentally unable to play the offense that MM wants to run. It is completely pointless to have a backup QB who can't run the base offense. In 2004, Drew was not allowed to even look more than 10 yards downfield (except on gadget plays) due to the fear of sacks, turnovers and poor decision making. If the Bills commit to JP, then Drew needs to be gone and a vet whose style more closely matches JP's needs to be acquired.
  22. Bledsoe may have "looked" better in 2004, but only because the coaches were forced to implement a dumbed-down, restricted offense that protected Drew from himself. Fewer sacks was a direct result of completely abandoning all downfield passes, except off of gadget plays. Drew still performed miserably against any and all teams that pressured him up the middle. The only decent defenses against which he had any success was Miami, not exactly a power house this year. Even with rookie mistakes, it would be hard for Losman to perform worse than Drew. JP is not developing sitting on the bench. Let Drew continue his Hall of Fame career somewhere else where expectations of mediocrity are acceptable.
  23. It may take a while for JP to get "it". Drew still can't make decisions after 11 years in the league.
  24. TD was finally forced to see the light after Drew crapped the bed against TEflon Tom's Steelers.
