  1. Anderson needed a considerable amount of time in the weight room to become a productive NFL DT. we will see if he ready.
  2. he has an$ 8 mil cap number and wants to use the Drew restructure technique for bigger money.
  3. good thing he wasn't guilty- he would have really had to pay then.
  4. Teague is probably a better LT right now than Shelton is
  5. they drafted him last year in the 3rd round
  6. good plan- bring in a free agent C who is a downgrade to what we have and cut Teague who is insurance at LT. sounds like something Drew concocted to get back at JP
  7. yeah - right McNally worked with what the front office game him, which wasn't much. I highly doubt he purposely had a hand in bringing in inferior players just so he could work miracles with them.
  8. they can give up a top flight corner, like Pat Surtain, instead
  9. 1. we have no one that can play NT (Sam Adams is not a nose tackle) 2. Fletcher is too small - would need to add 2 bigger LBs 3. DEs are too small and will be exposed by lack of push in middle.
  10. it depends. If the target is a defensive player who played the Bills, he will know the offense will be much harder to defense without Drew since constant pressure up the middle will no longer totally destroy the offensive consistency. If the target is an OL, then he will much relieved not having to protect a statute with no pocket presense. If the target is a WR or TE, they will be relieved that Drew won't be locking onto Moulds on every play, so they may actually see the ball. So I guess if a player gets the right cash, he will probably view the Bills as a well run operation whose team is playoff bound.
  11. sounds like the money that should go to JJ. $10 mil over 2 years to Fat Pat will put us on the fast track back to cap hell. You don't overpay for old, overweight players on the downside of their careers.
  12. The CBA expires in 2007, so 2007 will be an uncapped year unless the CBA is extended. Snyder is rolling the dice that the extension will be delayed long enough so his overspending can be washed out in 2007.
  13. sure - you keep believing that. Belichick has promoted from within and the machine will keep on rolling.
  14. Bellicek is the super-genius. Parcells is a fat old man relying on fading, name players to try to save his reputation.
  15. Vikes will draft Braylon Edwards, even if they have to move up to get him
  16. thank you- Smart teams don't overpay for over-the-hill ego-maniacs. Clements is the smart move because there is a high probability he will play out the entire term of his contract and the team will get full value.
  17. But Fake-Fat-Sunny said the Dolphins have cap problems and couldn't possibly go after JJ. Carey blows. He played G in college and wasn't even active in most games last year. No way he can play LT effectively.
  18. Can do without an old, fat, soon to be overpaid lineman with an overinflated idea of his value. Maybe fat Pat should walk the walk and sign for a modest amount like he said he would to keep the team together, instead of gouging for $5 mil per year. Good teams like the Pats move on with younger players. They don't mortgage the future by overpaying over the hill players.
  19. this team would have regressed with Drew at QB. No way does JP put up worse production in 2005 than Drew did in 2004.
  20. Pat is Fat and old and good cap mgmt dictates that you don't tie up big money / long term contracts in players on the backside of their careers. Gotta like Pat's home team discount of $5 mil / yr. Should have drafted Vince Wilfork last year, then there wouldn't be a problem. Bills will be fine without him
  21. actually this is the first place I have seen any talk of releasing Teague. not going to happen. He is a good center and can play LT.
  22. hey- don't let facts get in the way . Drew lost the starting job for good with his performance (or lack thereof) against Pittburgh.
  23. There is no way Drew will ever come back to the Bills.
  24. absolutely correct. If Drew was such a standup team guy, he would have voluntarily deferred that $2 mil option payment from November 2004 to the end of the year and played under his old contract. Good play would have resulted in a good contract. Instead, he forced the Bills to extend him and cut his pay to $8.75 mil. For the effort, TD expected to get at least marginal production for 2004 and 2005. Now, he has to eat the dead money because Drew is more of a liablility than an asset.
  25. agree, bu let's hope that TD signs JJ and plays Shelton at RT or LG. although I don't see him as a LT, he would definitely give Bills leverage to get favorable restructcure from MW
