  1. The whole scandal may have broken him mentally. I read his Twitter burner account and it reads like somebody who cannot handle anymore criticism and is overcorrecting in terms of believing in his own abilities. He seems to be mentally stuck in 2019/2020 in order to psychologically deal with what he's gone through. Money is great, but the wealthy have mental issues of their own. It's not easy when you go from being most loved to most hated. Some can push through, most can't.
  2. Typical low IQ narcissist. If not for football he’d be a smarmy used car dealer.
  3. We finally get the Jags monkey off our back.
  4. It’s built into human biology. Who won? Who’s the leader on the winning team? That’s the best guy. It takes second level thinking to see beyond that, something the casual sports fan lacks, driven by simple and emotional media narratives. This is very evident on X where any pro-Allen post is immediately invaded by emotional one liners saying Mahomes has the SBs or Allen will throw 4 picks next week. In fact, the X posters have a strange cognitive dissonance when they are given strong stats showing Allen’s historic statistical dominance the last 5 years. They counter with weird arguments such as “Allen has so many turnovers” and “Allen is Mr. September” or “Allen sucks in the playoffs”. When shown it’s not true they counter with something else that shows they actually don’t know themselves why Allen is worse, they’re just tied emotionally to a negative opinion. With this Allen MVP run we’re seeing old narratives begin to melt away as people realize their old opinions don’t really hold anymore. Even Chiefs fans default to “3-0 SB brah” which shows how defensive and on their heels they are about Allen and how they don’t have much else to say.
  5. One week at a time. I see a 34-27 comeback win this Sunday.
  6. It’s funny how every team is good until the Bills smoke them. Now they “suck” and the Bills need to beat a real team. The underlying thought is that the Bills suck so if they win, the other team must really suck!
  7. It’s a nice PR answer with some truth to it, but people with the competitive streak of Allen are just as driven to prove the media and fans wrong about Lamar’s MVPs as he is to win a Super Bowl and dunk on Mahomes. Next on the revenge train? Put an end to this Jags owning the Bills talk.
  8. It can be done when you remember it’s a team game. Manning never had a great defense nor a brilliant head coach. Remember Caldwell? Manning didn’t get as many lucky calls as Brady. He didn’t get bailed out as much as Brady. And Manning’s teams didn’t participate in any form of cheating or gamesmanship. It’s the media narratives that are driven so deep in our heads, we learn to distrust our own eyes and memories.
  9. Just adds to my theory that everybody has collectively forgotten what they watched, and hasve been bombarded by the media narratives that he is the GOAT.
  10. The cheating though… I’m sorry man I can’t. You can’t be a GOAT and be caught cheating multiple times. It seems after the Bucs Super Bowl the media blitz has been so powerful that people forgot.
  11. Exactly right. The narrative has shifted since Brady won with the Bucs and Belichick failed with NE. But who failed is not Belichick the coach but Belichick the GM who gutted the roster over the years. Brady knew when to leave and he did. At the peak of the Pats dynasty, Belichick with the aid of cheating and gamesmanship was still one of the greatest coaching minds ever. Agree on Allen. He’s a Super Bowl run away from being seen in the light he deserves. Among the absolute greats.
  12. The cheating. I can never get past it. The whining. The outbursts at teammates when things don’t go his way. The turtling the last 7 years of his career when a DE was close. All those 17-16 wins with the Pats the last few years there where lucky flags and shrewd coaching won games. I watched more Brady games than any other non-Bills QB the last 25 years and I’ll tell you that the best QB I ever saw was PEYTON MANNING. And it wasn’t close.
  13. Explains the Mahomes passing chart from last week.
  14. Which unfortunately cheapens the award.
  15. It all really depends on how Elam, Bishop, and Edwards progress through the year. If they grow nicely, we can let Rasul go and have a solid DB room.
  16. Good for him. But his problem was always consistency.
  17. Agree that our depth is solid. We need an elite #1 next year.
  18. Most major injuries were veterans. It's the Not For Long league. We had less veterans on the offensive side. Bernard is undersized unfortunately.
  19. Some positive vibes before the game:
  20. I think that Top 5 will look like that for the next few years, in that order. Hate to be that guy, but read Allen's write up. Even at #1, they need to lead the quote with giving somebody else credit (James Cook). They don't do that for anybody else until Herbert at #8. But you could just as easily have done that for any of the other QBs between Allen and Herbert. Just saying.
  21. There is no secret sauce. 2024 begins the Chiefs gradual decline and the Bills gradual ascension. What people miss when they dismiss all these otherworldly Allen and McDermott stats is that they are DUE. Life is cycles and balance. When you’ve over performed and did not win, and somebody else has underperformed and won, the roles will soon be switched.
  22. Shows how thin the line really is between the Bills and the Chiefs.
  23. They’re people who don’t know how to win telling a winner how to win.
