Week 8 - Bills at Seahawks Game Week Thread

Not clear yet. Milano was really healthy before the recent breaks. Bernard we'll see. He is a bit undersized. -
Sam Darnold and other QB resurrections
ToGoGo replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn’t pencil Darnold in as a resurrection case yet. There’s plenty of time this season for the Cinderella story to end on the bench. -
I watched MVP Lamar fumble the game away against the Bengals in OT. The Bengals kicker missed a FG and Henry broke a long run and the Ravens won. Now I need to hear about how “Lamar is balling out” and Allen has no shot. Nobody has any idea what they’re talking about.
-
Glad the casual fan is finally realizing this golden boy has been carried by invisible forces his entire career. Allen is and will always be better.
-
It will be Lamar or Mahomes, but I suspect Allen’s stats will be so good that the casual fan will slowly start waking up to the narratives against Allen.

You don’t know anything about winning.

2018 QB draft and passer rating rankings this season
ToGoGo replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this point I’d bet on Rosen being a bust at Wharton too. -
I’m more worried about him mentally. I don’t like the look on his face every time they show him on the sidelines. Coming back from two major injuries to get back to an All-Pro level is only for the toughest of the tough. We’ve proven everything there is to prove in the regular season.

KC vs. Buffalo's record a microcosm of the Allen/Mahomes debate
ToGoGo replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
So tired of the same stale arguments over and over and over. Here’s a new one. The Chiefs are a mirage. They are on a slow decline and are not as good as their record. They will lose in the 1st or 2nd round this year. The Allen vs Mahomes narrative will switch to Mahomes can’t beat Allen in the playoffs because his team is not as good as the Bills. This will all happen with McDermott as coach. And lots of fans will need to look inward and figure out why they picked a scapegoat when it was only chance and the flip of a coin that prevented the Bills from winning the big one sooner. -
An absolute blessing to have him as our QB. The fans deserved this.

Fans are sick of Mahomes. And the casual fan is on to the preferential treatment shown by the refs leading to multiple questionable wins this season alone for the Chiefs. The Chiefs record has an asterisk to it. The surface level knee jerk reactions to why Allen doesn’t get the credit he deserves, don’t survive close scrutiny. The answer to OP’s question is simple. Allen came in with an EXTREME bust label, and he went to Buffalo. It’s one thing to admit you were wrong about a bust. It’s a whole other thing to triple down on that bust and then watch that bust become the best QB in the league and an all-timer. It’s credibility destroying. There is a movement to prevent that from happening by very selfish and insecure people.

This is what it comes down to at the end of the day. People are arguing over technical minutiae invented out of thin air by corporate employees of the NFL. Any rule that tells you Coleman’s catch shouldn’t count, should be thrown in the dumpster.

Cook is a poor man’s Kamara. Samuel is still injured.

KC vs. Buffalo's record a microcosm of the Allen/Mahomes debate
ToGoGo replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why don’t they want to admit Allen is a HOF great already? What are they afraid of? “He will never be accurate” “He is sugar high Josh!” ”He’s a turnover machine!” 12 TDs. 0 INTs. Never been done in the history of the NFL to start a year. They don’t realize that the joke is on them. Wait til the rings come. -
My hunch is that statistic is a red herring. The “growing” fanbase will be less loyal. And quicker to leave.

I differ than a lot of people here. I think he has another gear he hasn’t reached yet. He was raw coming out and has developed into a solid overall starter, especially against the run. We could do A LOT worse than the player he is today, but I still think he can break out further.

What exactly is the real story with Mike Edwards?
ToGoGo replied to Jukester's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure why anybody would question McDermott’s discernment around DBs? He has an iron track record. If he doesn’t think Edwards should be starting, then the guys ahead of him are better right now. It could be lack of talent, it could be injuries, he could be depressed in Buffalo (the city is not for everyone), he could be an awkward fit, he could have personal issues, substance abuse, girl problems, you name it. The NFL locker room is a crazy place far different than what we see on TV during a game. Trust the team to know what they are doing, especially in the DB room.- 142 replies

2nd all time among QBs in NFL history. A stat that’s not mentioned enough.

The way I see it is that Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady and the soccer guy don’t have $1B between the three of them. There’s probably big money behind them like there is with most of the other athlete minority owners. The one thing tying the 3 of them together is Toronto. And anything that has Toronto and the Bills in the same sentence gives me the creeps. Maybe it’s nothing, but I don’t remember seeing Vince Carter at Twin Oaks during the drought. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Von Miller outlook implications from the Cooper trade
ToGoGo replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think people get confused by the bounces that decide games. Are we really worse than last year? Well we were a split second Dawkins block on Chris Jones away from winning the Chiefs game on a Shakir touchdown. And if the Jets made their FGs last night? Things are closer than they appear. NFL is a best of one playoff. Unless you get severely outplayed, one possession wins can usually go either way. Bills fans in general are nervous nellies ever since Norwood. They overthink things as if we were swept in a best of seven series every year. As if we haven’t beaten the Chiefs the last 3 regular season games. We can easily win the SB this year, just like we could’ve won it the last few years. It’s the bounces, and the flags, and the injuries that decide games at this level. One needs to only look last season to this forum after the Broncos game to come to the conclusion that the majority of opinions of Bills fans, are better left ignored. Just stay positive and support your team. They’re due for a trophy. At this level, the Marinos and Scottenheimers are the exception, not the rule. Things balance themselves out.- 81 replies

Congrats to JA for most TDs in NFL history in first seven years
ToGoGo replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
This should be a stat that everyone is passing around this week. Steve Young appears to have only started 2 or 3 of those 8 games. -

It’s not even half time if his career. Don’t quit yet! Marino is a bad word.
