  1. And he's been to the Conference Championship once since 2010, where they lost to NE. I think Tomlin is getting long in the tooth in Pitt, sometimes change is good. This is one of those times.
  2. Nope. IMO, Tomlin has greatly underperformed with the talent he has had over the seasons. He's been the coach since 2007 and is starting to get long in the tooth, actually for the past two years. It's not like Pitt is making an irrational decision by firing Tomlin; sometimes change is good after a long tenure...for both parties. I personally don't care what Pitt does with Tomlin, it's just my opinion as an outsider who is not a Steeler fan.
  3. What about last year? What was Tomlin's excuse last year, he had AB, Big Ben, and JuJu. I think Tomlin has vastly underperformed with the talent he has had over the years.
  4. And I hope I'm wrong about the Ravens being in the SB, but they're a more complete team right now.
  5. The Raven's defense is relentless. Just pummeling Pittsburgh. Ravens will represent the AFC in the SB.
  6. Nothing like living in the past. As Bills fans we know that all too well. Steeler fans will not be ok with the decision to keep Tomlin; missing the playoffs for two years in a row is a big deal for them, it is not something they're used to. Tomlin handled the qb situation terribly, had a real shot at getting into the playoffs this year, but didn't.
  7. Then it will be three years in a row they don't make the playoffs. Sucks to be a Steeler fan.
  8. If impersonating a deer in headlights is a prerequisite for coach of the year, Tomlin has it wrapped up.
  9. Yes he did. The offense was much better after Roman was fired.
  10. Why? Have you not noticed the crappy job he has done with the QB situation between Duck Hodges and Mason Rudolph? Tomlin played both like it is pre season, switching between the two of them. He could have got the team in the playoffs, but didn't...for two years in a row.
  11. Roman sucked when he was here, the offense couldn't score any points and Rex's craptastic defense couldn't stop anyone. Anthony Lynn did a good job simplifying and tailoring Roman's offense for Tyrod. Maybe someone else can do the same with Daboll's playbook.
  12. Cleveland - Kitchens returns; it has only been a year Jax - Doug is gone, how could he not be after firing the President of Operations. New guy will want to bring in his own coach and GM. NYG - Shurmur is gone, the Mara's have seen enough Dallas - Garret is gone Washington - Doesn't matter, Snyder needs to be gone for them to win Pittsburgh - Tomlin is fired. He's not the guy for the team after Big Ben; Tomlin is in way over his head right now.
  13. But he calls plays repeatedly that don't work. Run Gore to the outside, go long on 3rd and short, calls plays that take a long time to develop, etc. Yet no screens, slants, short and quick pass plays, etc that would help a young, second year QB. Daboll's plays would be fine for an offense, especially the line, that has been together for multiple years and Josh was in his fifth year rather than his second. I hope the Panthers hire Daboll, or he goes with his Pats pals elsewhere.
  14. I agree with Scott's point. McD still needs to get a grasp on offense and special teams, neither of which has been anything better than mediocre the past three years. SB winning coaches understand all three phases, not just one.
  15. How many other teams do you follow as closely as the Bills where you pay attention to what the coordinators are doing? I doubt other fans pay attention to Daboll. Your second paragraph is just plain dumb. It has nothing to do with my idea of having another offensive assistant call offensive plays in lieu of Daboll, who indisputably does a terrible job calling plays.
  16. He's done that to himself all on his own. Assistant coaches should call offensive plays going forward into the playoffs.
  17. Even though the article was from last year, the sounds of it could also be from this year...less them playing the Jets this Sunday.
  18. If you really have to ask, it is because he is a long time NE Patriot. They get breaks that others don't.
  19. I tend to agree; doubt we see any Aaron Donald type acquisitions. This team has too many missing pieces for one big FA splash, rather it needs more slightly smaller, blue chip acquisitions.
  20. You mean Mark McGuire wasn't all natural? I'm shocked (sarcasm). I remember seeing pictures of him as a rookie compared to the year he broke the HR record; night and day difference.
  21. Aaron Donald would come here if you pay him, this isn't the Buffalo Bills of 2009. I'm not convinced that Beane will want to take a $20M+ cap hit in each of the next three years. If he is indeed on the trade block, the acquiring team will have to cover his cap costs since I highly doubt the Rams will want to eat any of it.
  22. McD doesn't care if they get to 11-5 or 10-6. The playoffs are all that matters. I do think the Bills play fundamentally sound football and win the game in a very boring fashion, so we will get to see 11-5.
  23. So he says he's working hard and will come back next year. Looks like Pig Ben has been working hard on the buffets around the 'Burgh
  24. It means you're too lazy to give them the very best.
