Interesting you all are saying $8-10M. If that's what Beane is thinking, J. Phillips is probably gone since it sounds like he wants well above $10M.
I also didn't think he was that bad in rush defense and thought the Buffalo Rumblings article was a bit harsh when referring to him as skates.
Harry seems like a better 3-tech, doesn't seem like a space eater.
I also think Beane will go a little higher than $10M AAV, probably closer to $12M AAV. If he wants more than that, say Fletcher Cox money ($17M AAV) he's gone.
Marone is in job preservation mode. He has a lot to prove to Shad Khan in the '20 season; if the season is like the '19 season, both Marone and the GM are gone.
If you can sign Jordan Phillips at $10-12M AAV, do it. Much above that, I think he walks. Jordan Phillips will not be Dareus post 2015, if that is what you mean.
Jordan Phillips has been more productive than the post 2015 Dareus and could make an argument for $14M AAV. The pre 2015 Dareus was better than J Phillips, though.
If Star and Harrison are the 1-techs on the roster, that is not good and a better 1-tech is needed
I look forward to your DT Primer...great job on the position primers you've done thus far.
And now is what I'm concerned with, since Dareus is making $14M now which is grossly overpaid.
Sounds like he's looking for Fletcher Cox type money ($17M AAV), or at the least Marcel Darius money ($14M AAV). Jordan Phillips has been more productive than Darius.
IMO, biggest problem we have is the coaching staff's game management philosophy. No closing instinct, they seem content in allowing the opponent to stay in the game.
I'm sure Harbaugh had them prepared, just prepared to play the game they've played the entire season. Tennessee was prepared for it and dismantled the Ravens. Baltimore couldn't adjust when Tennessee shut down Lamar.
