  1. Ah, right. I was thinking MIKE for some reason. Not sure if Vosean Joseph is the guy and ready to start, or they look to the draft or FA.
  2. We're not going to get a traditional MLB, that is not how McD built the defense. His MLB is supposed to cover the slot receiver in the middle, as well as the TE. Run defense is secondary, and is the primary job of the DT's. Our defense is built around pass defense, first. It is susceptible to the run as we've seen.
  3. No, we're built around the DBs. The LB corps are basically big safeties. IMO, the Dline needs a legit 1-tech and a stud DE/edge, even if we re-sign Shaq.
  4. the 49ers built the defense around the D-line, and it shows.
  5. I wouldn't go that far, it is a lot better this year with LaFleur and his DC Mike Pettine. Rodgers has remarked they actually have a defense this year
  6. Kelce was the guy who told Sammy to "adjust your body language" last week when they were down vs Houston. I write it off as Kelce just being excited
  7. KC will not beat SF or GB
  8. Mahomes and Kelce will be crying in two weeks. At least enjoy it now...
  9. Tennessee was too soft on defense; didn't go after Mahomes. 49ers will destroy them.
  10. Not true. As coach he was in one SB only, and lost to the Patriots, which was 16 years ago.
  11. Reid and SBs are generally not compatible. Last time he was there was like 10 or 11 years ago in Philly with McNabb and T.O. Reid is usually eliminated in the AFCC, if not before, so not sure Reid is the guy to talk to.
  12. Watkins is a WR2, right now he has Hill and Kelce. Hammy can't do it on his own.
  13. It has been a big problem the last several years. Coincides with Goodell's tenure
  14. I'm not even remotely disappointed we passed on Mahomes. He wouldn't be the same QB in Buffalo.
  15. Defenses are afraid to hit QBs I've noticed this year in fear of getting a penalty. Tennessee looked to be afraid to hit Mahomes.
  16. Agree with building up the OL. My fear is that Ford was a big whiff.
  17. If that was the case, the refs shouldn't have made the call. It was on KC
  18. And you all still have him ?
  19. Tannehill looks like a much better QB than what he was in Miami. Has to be more than just a change of scenery.
  20. I really hope we can have nice things. This offseason will be an indication of "the process" and if it is truly applied to the coaching staff, because it needs to be. McD, I'm sure sees that the offense wasn't anywhere near good enough in terms of play calling; Daboll needs some process. The defense (yes, defense) wasn't good enough in getting to the QB, as well as the prevent/soft zone Frazier likes to play when having a lead; McD and Frazier need to see that allowing opponents to stay in games prevents you from winning. If they didn't learn this vs Houston, I don't think they ever will. They also need to continue to tighten the run blocking gaps, which were exploited multiple times this year. McD and Frazier need some process. Special Teams, Heath Farwell was very disappointing earlier in the season allowing the Pats (and one other team - Dolphins or Eagles, I thought) to block a punt due to weaknesses in the punt blocking formation, though this seemed to get fixed as the season went on. Maybe Farwell already got his process, but we'll see next year. McD's game management is getting better, but still lots of room for improvement. Of course the players will get the process, and we'll also get some new players. Additionally, with the ones we have now, execution should be better with another year of experience under their belt. The point is the coaching wasn't good enough this year and they need some "process."
  21. 3:05pm and 6:40pm
  22. A stronger defense wins championships. Tennessee and SF are the better defenses and will win. 49ers will win it all in two weeks.
  23. I'm not really rooting for anyone. I do think the SB will be 49ers vs Tennessee
  24. McD should be able to, for sure. After all, he's Daboll's boss. But is he? I suspect McD does not, or cannot, define the offense like a Harbaugh or Belichick, for example. I don't think he knows enough about offense to be able to do so. I think he's still learning how to be a HC. to be honest, so Daboll has a lot of leeway.
  25. Based on the player personnel that is on the roster and in relation to the offense strengths. For example, if we got a WR1 who has a chance of being the next Julio Jones, there should be plays to focus on that player and he should be in on the majority of snaps and targeted often. Likewise if we get a Derrick Henry type RB, we should be running the ball more often between Singletary and the new RB. What we shouldn't be doing is targeting Pat DiMarco on a 30 yard pass, or running Frank Gore around the tackle because no other team would ever suspect we'd do such a thing. If McD replaces Daboll as the play caller (doubt this happens, though) this could be a moot point. What I was getting at it John Harbaugh kept Grep Roman on the straight and narrow focusing on Lamar's strengths and not doing cute/outsmart yourself type things, I suspect Daboll needs the same.
