  1. I do think Star stays a Bill in 2020, his dead cap figure is still a bit prohibitive to get rid of him. Get the stud 1T in draft or FA and keep Star as a backup/rotation ( <30% of snaps). McD and Beane can't ignore the 1T position, the DLine was just too weak this past season.
  2. Right now, i believe it is just Star and Harry at 1T. I don't think Harry is a 1T, but more of a 3T -- he's just not big enough to be a 1T. Really, Star isn't big enough, either. So what to do? Move Harry over to 3T and draft or buy a true 1T ( > 325 lbs ) who won't get pushed back, can push forward and get to the backfield, as well as stop the run. McD's interior OLine was very weak this past season; not good in rush defense or pass rushing.
  3. They're going to hire Dennis Thurman; he has broken free of Rex.
  4. Careful what you volunteer for. This is no small task... The XFL is supposed to be the NFL's farm system at some point...sooo let's test that out, or at least get the system kickstarted
  5. Yep. The sooner, the better.
  6. Not sure how we have room to laugh. This was our OC in 2017 who was fired after one season.
  7. Definitely harder than the 2019 o/u of 6. Take the over, but it will be close; tough schedule this coming season, so 9-7 could be it.
  8. Probably not a popular opinion, but I agree with it. I do not believe it is worth spending big money on a DB, especially a zone CB. If he was elite like a Deion Sanders, Troy P, or Ed Reed, I would consider; but Tre is not. I like Tre and think he is very good, though for almost as many plays as he makes he gets burnt; D. Hopkins let everyone know about that. It makes more sense in today's NFL to put the money into the front seven and rush the passer, plus that is where you stop the run. Even if you don't get all the sacks you hope for, chances are you hurry the QB and he has to throw it away or makes ill advised throws. A good front seven makes even a mediocre backfield look good. WR's get the benefit of the doubt while the DB's get the PI flag; we've seen it too much on questionable calls - that don't get reversed.
  9. Beane should be able to find a WR in the draft. Probably save the purchases for a RT/DT/DE
  10. Ah, I forgot about those. We had that too in the fraternity house. Sometimes those were actually helpful.
  11. Hmmm, maybe. TO and McD were with the Eagles in 2004-2005 under Andy Reid. TO was never in Carolina, so that complicates things.
  12. We sign a RB in his 15th season, talk about possibly bringing in a TE with 13 seasons played, and now all hell breaks loose. I wonder what House Ballard is up to these days...
  13. On Pawn Stars trying to sell his SB ring
  14. How things have changed, this is the first I've heard of being able to outsource homework assignments...and to Kenya no less. On a slightly different topic, apparently kids today know of Chinese websites where they can pay to have perfect fake IDs made with their photo on it. The power of the internet...
  15. But he's from Carolina and will probably be overpaid when he signs here. Seriously, dump Kroft and roll with Smith, Sweeney, and Knox. I'm not sure why we need Olsen or any other vet TE; probably Daboll's idea to have 8 TE's on the roster.
  16. No need to get an overpriced, diva WR in free agency, draft one this year. Draft a RB in the mid rounds. Commit resources/picks to the lines and OLB.
  17. I'm not a bitter hater. I just can't stand all the love he is getting for having a few good games. Maybe Sammy's ring can have engraved: "courtesy of Kelce, Hill, and Mahomes" Sherman and the secondary blew it, they played way too loose.
  18. No, I won't need to. He isn't going to make a play for awhile, even when the next season starts.
  19. Right on. It is getting tiresome, kind of like constantly being reminded that we passed on DK Metcalf. Every draft will have its would of, could of... Also, as is pointed out to these posters, that Mahomes probably would not be the QB in Buffalo that he is in KC. Andy Reid has a lot to do with Mahomes' development; people seem to forget that Reid helped develop Brett Favre in GB as well as Steve Young at BYU in the early 1980s. But Josh Allen has Daboll (yippee) here in Buffalo, and pretty much no one when he was in Wyoming.
  20. I'll take Saleh. Saleh seems like a guy who will finish his opponents off quickly. McD is too conservative and will end up letting his opponent stick around for too long.
  21. Doesn't change my contention that Sammy is not a WR1. He wouldn't have had the game he did without Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce attracting attention. Watkins wasn't a WR1 in Buffalo or with the LAR.
  22. Sammy should be thanking Hill and Kelce for attracting defensive back attention. Without them, Sammy is his meh self...a WR2.
  23. Good post and want to comment quickly on the bolded part. Watkins is a WR2, it is that simple. Tyreek Hill is their WR1, which looked to open things up for Watkins to actually make some plays. Watkins had probably one of his best days as a pro, though it was because of Hill attracting attention. We do need a WR1 and Sammy ain't it.
  24. I'm sure there was some of that, there is on pretty much every play. But there is a threshold that can't be crossed without being called on a more consistent basis.
  25. I can't imagine it means much to him. It wouldn't mean much to me if I was in Shady's shoes.
