  1. Of course the Pats* got him and he seems to be doing well there. I agree that Tolbert has a spot on this roster, and it is as you described.
  2. LOL. I can see Tolbert running a pattern next to Benjamin, but Benjamin continues the fly route while Tolbert breaks inside after 20 yards. A bit of an exaggeration, but using Tolbert as a RB2 is a terrible decision. They have to regret letting Gillislee go.
  3. Even if this decision backfires, I like the attempt to get the QB situation righted. I think this needs to be done given Dennison's type of offense, which it is apparent that Tyrod will never succeed in.
  4. Apologies Royale. Wow, complete 180 from 'Tyrod is our starting QB' this past Sunday.
  5. That's quite a switch. Last two days of practice must have said a lot.
  6. You sure you didn't get this mixed up with the DT switch...Coleman in, Worthy out? Haven't seen anything about a QB change.
  7. Not lunacy at all. Had Whaley been allowed to hire his coach, definitely not a stretch to say we would have been in the playoffs by now. As far as the QB situation, go back and read my first post in this thread. Will tell you all you need to know about the EJ Manuel pick. Admit that Cardale Jones was a mistake. Whaley was put in front of the media by Pegula (who probably should have been the one in front of the media) after the Rex firing. Have to believe this came about last minute and Whaley most likely had no time to prepare. We didn't fire him out of mercy; McDermott entered the scene, demanded full control, and the Pegulas gave it to him. End of Whaley for better or worse.
  8. Nope, that would be a good problem to have.
  9. Was that Sean Payton or their FO who, from what I understand, did a poor job of managing the salary cap.
  10. Well maybe, maybe not. Hard to say what the coaching staff thinks of Peterman. They haven't said much other than 'we like some of the things he did' during garbage time of the Saints debacle.
  11. Never got all the hate for Whaley from a lot of people on his board. Agree, he had his flaws, but he also had his successes. Whaley's biggest mistake, IMO, was the QB position; he was basically backed into a corner by Buddy Nix and had to take EJ Manuel who was the best QB in a weak 2013 class. It was unfortunate that draft was terrible for QBs; next best QB was Geno Smith, so that should say something. Wish Whaley didn't stick with EJ for as long as he did; it very well may have been his undoing. Not getting to select his own coach also hurt Whaley. I suspect had he been able to select his own coach instead of Wrex being forced on him, we probably would have seen the Bills in a playoff game by now. It seemed that he never had the full authority of a GM, and IMO, got a raw deal from this organization in the end. This thread will probably go 10+ pages with strong opinions on both sides of the spectrum. Any Whaley (or Tyrod) thread is guaranteed to do just that.
  12. That's what I think. Chargers eventually go back to SD.
  13. If this is the case, what did McDermott do as DC in Carolina last year? Agree with missing Kromer; it is obvious he made a big difference with essentially the same OL.
  14. Great letter, CBF. I'm proud to be a Bills fan (been one by choice all my life). IMO, this is the best fan base in the NFL; the fans here are real fans. My only regret is not getting involved and posting on this site years ago. Go Bills!!!
  15. Not their job to show us respect. We should have earned it, but didn't. Sean Payton is the type of coach I would like to see Sean McDermott become more like: killer instinct, put the pedal to the metal
  16. What's that choad in the Steelers hat doing here?
  17. I doubt they wanted Peterman to fail miserably. The game was out of reach so why risk an injury to Tyrod. It was an opportunity to give the backup QB some actual game reps, happens all the time. Highly doubt the coaching staff has a real problem since McDermott actually said Tyrod is the starter. Now why Tyrod is the starter if Dennison doesn't change how he runs the offense and calls the plays will be a good question to ask going forward, since it would exemplify the definition of insanity.
  18. Some people (and not just coaches) are not as animated as others. People have different personalities, McDermott is very reserved. I don't think we should take that as him being unconcerned. I have to believe he is concerned because what's happening now reflects poorly on him.
  19. Well, he's not going to publicly slam his coaches and players and point out their faults. That's why these pressers are worthless, they will not tell you what the coach is really thinking.
  20. It's not over, but these next two games are must wins. If we lose just one of them, our margin of error is pretty much zero going into the Miami and NE games, neither of which are 'give mes'.
  21. Can't argue with this. The 2018 draft will tell a lot about just how good McDermott and Beane are. We need an upgrade at about 8 positions, so you're right, we really can't miss on draft selections and probably have to make a couple of good FA acquisitions.
  22. Agree with 10-6, but thanks to the last two games, our margin of error is slim. Don't forget we are at KC after the SD game; neither of which we can lose. These are tough tasks, especially at KC.
  23. I'd take it a step further and say Tyrod can't be McDermott's guy in the near term, as well. Either the offensive system has to change, or the QB has to be changed (read start Peterman). I'm not a hit the panic button, start Peterman guy, but I don't see any success going forward by ignoring this situation continuing status quo. To no one's surprise, the defense has got us to 5-4. When the defense fails, such as in the last two games, we see the disastrous results. IMO, if the offense would have clicked just a little bit more, I think we would be sitting at 7-2 at this point.
  24. Here is Tyrod's scouting report from NFL.com From the overview: "Taylor is a hard working kid that has improved every year, but it is unclear if he can play quarterback at the next level. He has a quick release and a strong arm, but he is somewhat erratic as a passer. He also does not show the consistent sound decision making to be an efficient quarterback. His greatest asset is his athleticism and he should be able to contribute immediately as a running back, receiver or return man. A terrific senior season, where he completed nearly 60% of his passes, has helped his draft stock and he could sneak into the third round." Bold emphasis is mine. This sentence still rings true today which I think we all agree is Tyrod's problem. Wish it were not so; I like the guy and want him to succeed.
  25. I think Shaw was just comically pointing out that Benjamin was not utilized.
