Or a defensive coaching staff that wants to adjust. We know the offense will not adjust from Dennison's rigid scheme, maybe Frazier is the same way. Quite unfortunate, and that probably means that most, if not all, of the remaining Whaley era players will be gone by the time next season starts.

We have not shown the propensity the past two games to utilize Kelvin, anyway. At this point, just hope he heals up for next season.

Coaching matters, and all coaches have their own philosophy and 'their' players that fit 'their' schemes. Some coaches are more flexible than others. We have had a string of rigid coaches with rigid schemes that have failed miserably, and I suspect the reason for this is the constant coaching turnover and residual players from previous coaching schemes. I hope McDermott and staff are the right people for this team; that is the only way we'll turn things around, and I think they have already started the process by getting rid of players who do not fit their philosophy. This upcoming draft and FA period will be huge for Beane and McDermott; that is where they must bring in 'their' players.

As far as how old I am, well, without giving an exact number, I was a very young kid when Joe Ferguson, Joe Cribbs, Jerry Butler, etc were playing and we won the AFC East in 1980. This is about when I started to root for them. I followed them all through out the 80's, 90's (watched all four SBs), 00's, and until today. I've heard the jokes - BILLS actually stands for Boy I Love Losing Superbowls. If we had won just one, and probably should have won two of them, we would be considered one of the greatest franchises of all time. But that is long gone, and I'm thankful that I'm still young enough that I should see them turn things around and make more SB runs. Not surprising that the first year is a bit rough, but I agree that it appears there is a plan in place. This offseason, draft, and FA will be revealing as far as how 'real' Beane and McDermott are; have to nail the draft. Then next year should start to show us what type of team they're building and the guys they want. Agree that Pegula wants to win, which I'm thankful we have that kind of owner. It looks like he made his coach and GM decisions and will see it through; and I think they'll get more than three years, which I think is good given the group that was brought in. The lack of direction, poor coaching, poor drafting, and constant turnover is why we have 17+ years of futility. Hope this is the light at the end of the tunnel.

I suspect McDermott may have lost the locker room about 2-3 weeks ago. I don't think there is really much of an explanation for the past 2-3 losses and how they have occurred this embarrassingly lopsided. I was watching NFLN last night; Willie McGuinest seems to think that McDermott is not being transparent with the team and that they have shut down on him. Whatever the cause, it is painful. I hate being the butt of cruel jokes and hearing less than flattering conversations about how bad the only team I have ever rooted for, is.

I think the offensive line under Kromer's tutelage is what we're missing. We basically have the same guys up front, but different coaches and now a zone blocking scheme. So, I don't think we're missing Felton, but rather a competent offensive coaching staff.

Bolded part of your post is spot on if Taylor is the QB, since this type of offense is his strength. Don't give Tyrod a pocket, let him move around behind the line as needed and create plays. But all this, I fear, is for not because of the rigid philosophy of Dennison...he won't allow it to come to fruition since this is not the type of offense he knows.

IMO, the Pegulas listened to their Csar last year when they hired McDermott and Beane. Does anyone really think they came up with this idea on their own?

I think you might be a little premature with this thread. But I would like Leslie to get a little more creative with bringing pressure on the QB.

Yeah, you said this last week and mentioned that what the Saints do with Brees is a good model for what the Bills should do with Tyrod; it is a very good point. But I unfortunately do not see it happening due to the fact that Dennison is way too rigid in his offensive (in more ways than one) philosophy. Tyrod will probably be gone next year.

Why would they do that? He oversaw a team that won a SB two years ago. He just needs to find a QB, like half the other teams in the NFL.

He is already getting 95% of the touches and his production is still way down from last year. I don't think getting Shady 99% of the touches is the right answer; defenses will key in on him more than they already are.

The rookie LB (I forget his name) -- Matt Milano Not a bad thought, other than Ragland. He wasn't fast and athletic enough to be a 4-3 MLB. Think someone like Luke Keuchly for this position.

Redskins are probably going to back the Brink's truck up for Cousins. Their other options are let him pursue FA or tag him again.

I'd think McDermott has to be at this point. He's tried Dennison's way for 10 weeks with some minimal success and a few gigantic failures. Might be time to review last year's offense game tapes when ALynn was OC.
