  1. Lighten up, Francis. Look, you fire people when they are a poor fit and/or have done a poor job. Dennison falls into both categories, hence firing him makes sense. And in doing so, you give yourself the opportunity to correct a mistake and find the right person for the job. Dennison has proven himself to be largely incapable of the job, and I would pin two, possibly three losses directly on him: Carolina, Cincy, NYJ. But he deserves more time, right? To do what, screw up some more only with a different QB? Between your cursing laced diatribe, I get the basic message; continuity. I agree, but continuity with the right people, and not just continuity for continuity's sake. Easier said than done, but at least an easy subject to grasp, no?
  2. Well, yeah, the OLine has also struggled opening holes for the running game this year.
  3. Given the questionable offensive play calling, use of Tolbert as an RB2, blocking scheme that took more than half a season for the OLIne to grasp, Ducasse at RG, as well as losses attributed to the offense in the Carolina, Cincy, and arguably the Jets (insisting on running against a five man front) games, I'm having a hard time seeing exactly how Dennison is an asset to this team. Give him another year and new QB? No. How many games do we want Dennison to lose next year before realizing we should have cut bait at the end of 2017? Dennison needs to go; he got much less out of an offense that was ranked 10th just last season.
  4. Tyrod holds the ball too long, which is one of his problems, and can reflect poorly on the offensive line.
  5. I still think Alex Smith makes the most sense. Andy Reid is someone who McDermott can work with, coupled with the suspicion that he probably wants to start the Mahomes era. It will be interesting to watch how Mahomes does this week. I never put much credence in getting Cousins because 1) we would have to deal with Snyder and Bruce Allen in Washington, and 2) the amount of money Cousins will want. A lot going against it. Some posters have referred to McDermott as McEgo, and unfortunately this may be accurate.
  6. If this is true, it is faulty logic on McDermott's part. You can't count on the defense to hold better offenses to less than 20 points per game; not realistic with today's NFL favoring offense production. Our offense has to score points, not just manage a game.
  7. Wow. Either Edwards turned over a new leaf or the talent in Minny is so good that even Edwards couldn't screw it up.
  8. George Edwards...where is he? Edwards was terrible here.
  9. That thread was a rambling mess.
  10. He's been a reliable part of Buffalo's secondary? When he's healthy enough to play, Gaines is very good; but I wouldn't call him reliable. I'd like to keep EJ, but wouldn't break the bank for him. Another CB is needed and hopefully we can find a good one in the draft.
  11. We need to replace Tolbert, but with a RB younger than 34. Gore has been around a long time and has taken his share of hits. There has to be someone in the draft we can target as a RB2 that can be had in the value rounds (3-6).
  12. It seems like you're implying there is a dichotomy between Beane and McDermott, which I do not think is the case. Beane was an understudy to Gettleman, and not the actual GM in Carolina, while McDermott was the DC.
  13. Bengals, but neither option is very good.
  14. I see. So a catch is whatever the Patsies and their 'fans' think it should or should not be. That's the way it has been going. KB catch was not a catch...right. Pretty powerful glue you got for Christmas; ease up on it and save some for the playoffs.
  15. If anything, Jacksonville will play for momentum, if Marrone believes in that. Cincy at Baltimore will be interesting. Baltimore is a better team, but this will be a chippy, physical game. Possible Cincy pulls out a W, at least I hope so. This might be our best chance at getting in, assuming we beat Miami.
  16. I still think the Raiders lose, they're not a good team right now.
  17. I thought Boxing Day was only a Canadian Holiday, falling on the Friday after our Thanksgiving?
  18. Ok, sure. In which case Kelvin Benjamin should have had a TD, as well as Jesse James of Pittsburgh.
  19. No he didn't. Not even close. The ball came out, hit the ground, and Cooks rolled over it. Still drinking, haven't finished yesterdays bottle?
  20. And this is a complete travesty if true. I think the Steelers ownership would be on board, as well as others. So not just Buffalo.
  21. This was kind of a painful interview to listen to, but I'm glad Terry gets it and will hopefully be able to do something about it.
  22. Pretty much. We only have ourselves to blame if we win on Sunday and fail to make the playoffs. Bengals vs Ravens will be a chippy, physical game, but Baltimore is a better team than Cincy.
  23. I miss having snow at Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone; and yes, it is still Christmas. Just don't go by what the malls, large department stores, etc do.
  24. With the help of the NFL, who I think wants this, it is possible...unfortunately.
