Kudos to Britain if they pull this off

And here's Ireland forced to follow suit. Come on USA. For once be a follower! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/25/world/europe/25ireland.html?partner=rss&emc=rss -
Better yet, if you don't want to be scanned or searched, drive.

I was thinking about this the other day. Ford made it through by the hair on their balls, mostly because of the GM bailout, but Ford must sit there and say, "Hey, risk shmisk...the feds will never let us fail. Let's bet some long shots (like the 40K Taurus anyone?)." Seriously, the bailouts were short term band-aids and long term cancers. Why. Do. You. All. Feed. The. Troll?

Make that font even bigger. He has his cycling helmet on over his rock head. It will take a while for your post to penetrate. As the kids say, pwned. -
My favorite part of this thread are a bunch of people who say their life is going along just fine and dandy without pot thank you and Dean piping up with, "You are really missing out. You really need to try pot. There's something wrong with you if you don't try it. Come on, just do it and you'll see what you've been missing." Jesus Dean, you're like a friend in an after school special.

Hahahahaha. Try typing this next time, "Wow, I was really wrong. Forgive me fellow Bills fans, I've come to expect the worst." That would be the manly thing to do instead of this "I was only a little wrong" BS. I love the "wildly" inaccurate stuff. His completion rate is 3% below that of Rothlisberger, who no one would say is an inaccurate passer. That means for every 100 attempts, Rothlisberger completes 3 more. At a clip of 30 pass attempts a game, that's about 1 completion more per game. Do I want that completion and the 7-8 yards that go with it? You bet. Does it make some huge difference? Of course not. That doesn't make him as good as Rothlisberger. It just makes the point that although he's not Brees-like in his accuracy, it's less of an issue than many here make it out to be.

RachaCha is 15th worst city in U.S. for finding a job
Peace replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I've always wondered why so many people from Rochester feel this holier than thou attitude towards Buffalo? I know it's born of jealousy (Rochester is second fiddle to Buffalo) but it comes out in wierd ways. In the late 80s, Rochester had a million Dolphin fans. Nowadays, they are probably Pats fans but the idea is the same. Anythign to put Buffalo down as some sort of awful scourge of a place. Having lived in both, my preference is for Buffalo (Lake Erie is better and there is more to do...amazing parks...plus Canada proximity) but I like them both. It's something I've always found odd. Wonder if others have noticed or discussed the Rochester snobbery. Of course, the irony is that the rest of the world knows Buffalo and goes a little cross-eyed when you mention Rochester. -
We are probably just using different vocabulary. Fitz has a strong arm, and I'd say it's one of the better arms in terms of strength (can throw off his back foot and on the run and a deep out) with authority. No, it's not in the elite of Elway/Jeff George. Either way, his arm strength is at least not a question. And his accuracy may not be great but it's also not awful. Looking at the stats, he's a little below average but unless your looking for Drew Brees's 70% completion rate, his 60% is not far off the pack of QBs at 62-3...based on a 30ish attempts per game, you're talking about less than 1 completion fewer per game than the likes of Rothlisberger/Ryan/Vick. It's a weak spot but hardly the end of the world.

This team turned the instant Fitz took over. The offense completely believes in him. You won't get that from any rookie. While he has his inaccurate moments, he has excellent arm strength. The WRs...not sure if they are that good...but Fitz sure makes them look good. Fitz even does the impossible in making the line look good. He helps with their assignments at the LOS (like all the great QBs do). He helps by getting the ball out fast. And he helps by staying in the pocket for the most part (which gives the O-line confidence that they know where he is). On Lindell, that was his first miss under 40 yards in 31 straight tries. The PAT last week was maybe a touch of a low kick but it was blocked. They don't need to start searching for a kicker just yet. And it's not like he's shanking gimmes. That was a gusty day at times yesterday and he missed one kick. BFD.

The WRs are good because of the QB.

Bulldog on WGR "Fitz is just not that good"
Peace replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK. I'll take this ceiling. On the list of things this team needs to improve, QB is down there, especially when you factor in leadership. This TEAM got better the instant Fitz took over. That would take next to forever for a rookie. BTW, 316 yards, 4 TDs. -
So until today, he made 31 straight FGs of 40 yds or less and last week he got an extra point blocked...and suddenly he sucks? Good fandom.

Maybe it's time for the nursing home Old Timer! Great thread.

Played well last week too.

1st miss in 30+ attempts under 40 yards and we need a kicker? You would be a perfect Bills GM.

What has shaped your political beliefs?

So her USSR upbringing made her not appreciate her US citizenship? What kind of convoluted logic is that? She came here and loved this country in a way that most US citizens could never appreciate because of the nightmare she left behind. The freedom from the oppressive government and socialist system she grew up in formed her love of the USA and her political system that was based on the premise: You have no right to be in my business unless I'm infringing your right to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness. From a political POV, that is 100% spot on. Get your (the government's) hands out of my pocket. Keep your eyes out of my bedroom. In general, mind your !@#$ing very limited business. -

Wow. I mean...wow. Why should lazy people get welfare? Food stamps? Unemployment? If you're going to have class warfare, let's have it out. I'm on the side of the people with jobs. The people who make things. The people who pay for all the crap lots of others get for free. You? -

If my political beliefs are a stew, the broth is Ayn Rand. But being intractable as her is impractical so the rest are pieces of compromise learned over time. (And still learning.) BTW, my political beliefs attributed to her is one thing. Her personal philosophy of selfishness is something I can't relate to in any way. -

Nope. Boba Fett is KRC. He never talks but we all know he's a badass.

The issues are dumb but almost inarguable. For example, the Stimulus signs make me mental. If the Dems wanted to capitalize on the "cut spending" populism, they would launch a Youcut and make it issues that Republicans oppose. (Military cuts, oil pork) They could play the same game. I wonder if either one would blink first.
