It ALREADY worked. He's president. And how about planning for next year with the deal on the table off the table minute to minute.
-
The Bills corners are good. They just don't have a pass rush.
-
You need a Sirius Internet subscription ($3/mo) and it's in the station master list under "Sirius." You click the station and then fill in your login information.
-
Sorry. I said fired because I see everything as a firing. Her group was downsized from 2 people to 1.
-
That's a given. His listeners (people like me and my wife) have more than one subscription too. We have 4. One for each or our cars and one each for our home and office radios. You're right about the deal amount. The 500M figure also included all of the show-related salaries and costs. On terrestrial, he was personally making 20M/year.

"Above board" is right. When she first got fired, she couldn't believe she was entitled to it. So why say no? Since then, the check keeps coming. A "ton" is relative but he makes about 200K/year--certainly enough to live off. She gets something like $1800/month after being fired from a job where she worked straight 9-5 and made 40-50K/year. Salt in the wound? She's doing a little under the table work now because she's bored.

The only company that made any sense was Apple. No one else has half a billion to throw at him. Pandora certainly couldn't do it and Howard's made it clear he doesn't have any interest in returning to regular radio. Unless some huge established media company was willing to launch an Internet subscription service radio station with Howard as the main attraction, you're right: Sirius was always the frontrunner. Sirius is shifting from the technology to the content. If people stay with Sirius, it's not going to be because they can get it in their cars, it's going to be because they like the product offered. Nowadays, you can get music anywhere--it's the other content that will set them apart and make them competitive for your entertainment dollars. I am a huge radio listener, especially talk radio, and I am glad there's still a company making serious commitments to the medium. (I would give up my TV before I'd give up my radio. Not even a competition.)

Mel Karmizan (sp)understands that it's not technology that sells channels, it's content. That's why he has Rosie, Dr. Laura, Howard, Oprah (kind of), Deepak Chopra, Bubba, etc. I am sure he had to bid high to maintain the best content and keep Howard. The only person who interviews at Howard's level is Terry Gross. He truly is a master interviewer. And I agree with that assessment. Howard's old act was a bore. It was bit and stunt intensive and half his time was spent yelling about DJs in cities he was entering. The last 10 years' Howard is light years better. Basically, he grew up.

Howard has low and high intelligence listeners. There's no better radio show centered on personality and comedy. I'm sure he will be there soon but as of now, the app still doesn't have him.

You should hate her! South Jersey. Want me to make it worse? Her husband makes a TON of money so all she's doing is collecting the money just for "fun" stuff. But the system isn't broken right?
-
I can get him on my iPhone using pocket tunes but it would be nice if he was available on the sirius app.

Done deal. Sirius for 5 more years. I cannot understand why they stopped making the Stiletto product line. It is quirky as f___ but it's the only product like it. Illegal recorders on the PC are available to make mp3s you can carry on your iPod.

MY friend's wife got laid off and has been getting enjoyment benefits for 2 years now. She's 100% employable but sees no reason to return to work when she can get so much money for doing nothing. She's not even the least bit apologetic for her attitude and thinks it's hilarious that they keep extending the benefits. Both times she was about ready to start looking for a job, she got extensions. In her last email to me, she said, "Thanks Uncle Barack." She knows I want to kill her but I love her so I'm conflicted. But since it was done with bipartisan support and combined with a tax cut, it is Obama's "best moment" and I guess I should "cut him a lot of slack."

Eric Wood to start at Center this week.
Peace replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wood has been playing poorly at an easier position than center, so why would we be excited to see him move to center? I see this as terrible news only. -
Run and hide because you're getting whipped using your own words...that's a good boy.
-
Tell me where I partisan-hack supported Obama and then maybe I'll consider responding to the other drivel where you claim you started this thread as a tribute to Obama, based on Obama's own criteria (sounds funny to even rewrite your own "reasoning").
-
So now you're trying to say that this wasn't a "great moment," but instead an "important" one? That's a funny retreat and ALMOST makes sense...except you called it his "best" moment. Again, you are clearly a fan of this #$%^ed compromise and still don't seem to even begin to grasp why it is so awful for our country. Why would I? I am against extending the unemployment benefits. Whups. Guess you were off base there weren't you? How does it feel to have your high horse up your ass? Booster and I have nothing in common. Not that you could comprehend that.
-
And what part of the above emphasized make what I said wrong. This is a TERRIBLE accomplishment. Not a great accomplishment nor a good harbinger of things to come. You can retreat from your initial post now that people are on you about it but you see this as "Obama's best moment" and you didn't mean it tongue in cheek. As ever, resort to name-calling when called out.
-
And yet LABillzfan sees this as a great accomplishment.
-
I use one of the Sirius TiVo-like devices so I get it. Listening live is absurd.
-
I hate all the good press this compromise is getting. It is a ___ing disaster right when I thought politicians were maybe turning the corner on deficit concern. Gross.
-
I still say it sends the wrong message packaging a tax cut with a spending increase. To me, it's a lose lose deal.
-
That's what I was proposing.

Two corrections. The meeting that Howard and Robin left early for (Howard was telling her to hurry on the air) was the Tarantino roast. And Sirius didn't buy the Stern catalog, Howard bought it and now owns it himself. Based on the latter, your idea that he makes the catalog available for sale on iTunes--and then moves Howard TV to an iTunes distribution--makes sense. He could then do the new shows on Sirius, a website, or wherever. Part of his aversion to podcast, I believe, is that he would lose the "live" energy. MAximizing all revenue streams, he would (1) Make entire catalog available for sale on iTunes (2) Move Howard TV to iTunes (3) Offer his live show on a subscription basis on his own or under some other corp. umbrella. #1 is an untapped revenue stream right now.

I was right about one Bill's reaction prediction. Let me try another: He 100% agrees that the Bills had better draft a DB on draft day instead of picking guys who play on either line. How'd I do Bill? You love a day one DB pick no?
