Downtown Buffalo City Teacher is forced to quit
Peace replied to DaveinElma's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No. I have him on ignore and because you responded to him, I saw his question in your quoted text. It was that rare moment where conner didn't have his troll hat on so I responded. -

They can get their GEDs whenever they have the desire and seriousness to do it. How much can the entirety of society do for the people giving it the finger? -

I see his question is directed at me because you quoted it. Still, your answer is perfect by me. We force kids to go to school when it should be regarded at least a tiny bit as a privilege that you can lose by making school unlivable for the kids and teachers who are trying. Putting teens on the street is a harsh school consequence for bad bahavior but the benefit to those left behind who actually want to learn would be inestimable. And who are we kidding? The "worst" of those kids are going to end up on the streets anyways. Why let them toxify schools for the kids who have potential? -
If that's the standard that draws us here (caring what trolls and party shills think), we're all in deep ****.

Why is there mandatory schooling? If the parents don't see fit to get them prepared for school, why should they drag the other kids and teachers down. Kick them out and be done with them. Sorry. That's a consequence. I know we can't have that. -
Perhaps. NEvertheless, it's undeniable that the system is a wreck when employable people like her who don't "need" the benefit in the first place, are doing this. Giving more money to unemplyment isn't a solution. It's a band aid to a wound that is not going to heal. 10-12% unemployment is here to stay and people need to figure out what that means for them. Same with the housing market. It's time to walk away from the houses that can't be afforded. These are awful real personal moments but the government is just extending the inevitable by handing out more checks. We are not going to have 4% unemployment and a rising home prices in the near future. And off-setting unemployment extension with a tax decrease is insane fiscal policy.

This sort of thing remains the dark specter in China's rise. The government there repressing freedom of speech and religion. Trying to stop internet access to Nobel sites. Creating a new alternate peace prize (the recipient didn't even accept it). If the central planners aren't careful, there's a stew of repression and wealth growing that will not mix. Not to minimize our problems, but I'd rather have our problems than theirs.

Bullcrap. My friends who are surgeons need to work more hours for less pay because people NEED health care. Health care services are, of course, available in unlimited quantity and thus everyone should be able to get them.

I don't have a house. Give me yours. I don't have a bed. Give me yours. I don't have a website. Give me yours. Is your fridge full. Mine's not. Empty it out. What's your job? I don't have one. Give it to me. I don't want to pay you what others pay. Work for me for less. Imagine the gun to your head as I say it and then you visualize the stick up you're advocating.

You refer to the 2009 taxes that got your ilk all fired up. First, in 2008, Exxon overpaid and that helped offset 2009. Second, if any of the lefties looked, the 10-k shows Exxon paying $7.7 billion in other taxes in the U.S in 2009. Oh, and more than $50 billion of other taxes and duties recorded overseas because, you know, that's where the oil is. Populists unite! -
Who better to head the House Appropriations committee
Peace replied to Peace's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's amazing. For the chairman of the appropriations committee FFS. If the Tea Partiers and true fiscal conservatives--and the fiscally conservative dems (if they are willing to break ranks) don't break with the parties soon, we are truly in deep trouble. The time to form up a new party is right NOW. Limit the issues to fiscal ones and just start a party already. -
Way to "get it," Republicans. This is almost too incredible to be true. Earmarks are not the end of the world but I am constantly stunned by the stupidity of the right. This next Congress is shaping up just like the guys who are about to leave. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/10/gop-taps-prince-pork-lead-committee-overseeing-federal-spending/

Of course. Told them both. His attitude is that between his tax bracket and the 5% Philly wage tax, he's not feeling that bad. She's just enjoying the love from Uncle Barack. -
Dane Cook's rise and fall were both fast. HE can't sell water in the desert these days.

Gallagher rose to fame in the 70s. There are always popular bad comics old-timer.

Let's have a civil conversation today, shall we? In another thread, I was describing my best friend's wife who has been on enjoyment for close to two years and now is looking at another year. She has no skills to retard because she's an tech writing editor. She could find more work but has no interest in doing so since she's getting a nice check not to work from Uncle Barack and her husband makes about 200K/year. On top of that, she's making some money working occasionally under the table. Each time she was about to start looking for a new job, the unemployment gets extended. -
And how about SOMEBODY NEEDS TO BE FIRED! Not just the thief. Colossal breakdown in national security = no one loses their job. Same thing happened with Iraq intel. Massive intel failures lead us to war and no one gets fired for it.
