One of the Bills supposed strengths: Safety
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First offensive play for the Ravens. Instead of running the ball with rice against the worse rushing defense in the league, who did they try to pick on? Donte Whitner. Every team this year has noticed this and are eating us alive with their opposing tight ends. Heap had a monster game, and he wasn't even healthy. -
Another horrible game for the back end of our secondary. Sigh.

You are playing unbelievable this year. Keep up the good work. What a complete game today - quick slants, over the middle, a beautiful fade for a long touchdown. Made some difficult catches too. Welcome to the NFL. You have a bright future.

You are surely not the sober Steve O. -
EPIC FAIL! If you actually watched the Seahawks game you would have noticed Lynch gained 12 yards on the first play of the game and was a non-factor the rest. While I don't rely heavily on stats because sometimes they can be misleading, his statistical production for the day is backed up by actually watching his performance on the field. It was a typical Lynch performance. Take a a loss and break a tackle for a 0 or 1 yard gain. Lynch is a one dimensional back. I do think he will perform better than what he produced today. Not enough to be a difference maker though.

Lynch starting for Seahawks...
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you will see slightly better numbers from Lynch in Seattle but nothing spectacular. Those stats are not surprsing though. I watched portions of that game and it was typical lynch. He gained 1/4 of those 44 yards on the first play of the game. Then it was stuffed at the line of scrimmage,1 or 2 yard gains and catch a screen pass 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage and break a tackle for a 1 yard gain. The thing with Lynch is that he does break tackles but the end results are like an extra 1 or 2 yard gain. What you want in a running back is when he does break tackles has enough speed to take it home. Lynch is a one dimensional back. I'm not gonna miss him in Buffalo. Freddy is the all around better RB. -
Brady Quinn.LOL He is horrible. Do you want a mix between J.P Lossman and Trent Edwards? He is who he is. A 2nd or 3rd string quarterback in the NFL.
-
Sure, to his credit he played alright today. Still not a difference maker or playmaker. Making a slight improvement over average is still not great. I won't give Byrd a pass either. He's not good against run, we all know that. With Byrd not making plays, then he is just another average safety out there next to Donte.

Randy Moss Going Too Vikings?
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Dante's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL Yes the fans want it done, desperately. However they would be willing to give up a 2nd and Berrian for him which seems like quite a lot. -
Randy Moss Going Too Vikings?

Vikings fans are going ape over this. They want this done badly. -
The funny thing is if you actually watched the Jets/Bills game, the one time the Bills did go into the Wildcat formation, the Jets immediately called a timeout on defense. The Bills come out in the EXACT same formation and the jets obviously called a timeout to game plan against it and Jackson runs for an easy 5-6 yards. Also if you have actually watched the Bills games this year, every time they have run that formation it has been for positive yards and over the past several years has been overwhelming a positive addition to the offensive schemes. I agree. Especially if we draft a young quarterback next year. Takes some of the pressure off of him and keep the defense a bit more honest. Otherwise he will get killed. Its smart football.

If the Bills go 1-15 ...
BuffaloBillsForever replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never going to happen. This is a pass year. The whole point being bottoming out and hopefully getting the 1st pick overall in the draft. This is our most important draft in decades. -
A run with Jackson out of the Wildcat with an option to Spiller will be one of many new offensive plays we will see this year and for years to come. Just remember that you read it here first. I would not be surprised at all to see this implemented into the offense as soon as this weeks game against the Jags. Go Bills!

Told ya! Not just a good move by the front office, but a great move dealing lynch for a 4th and conditional out of the conference! Obviously Nix realized what was the best 1/2 RB combo in a crowded position on the team. Time to pound Jackson and Spiller down opponents throats the next 3-5 years. This opens up many exiting things to the playbook with the wild-cat now that Spiller/Jackson can be the featured backs. I bet we start seeing some wild-cat option and other exciting things added to the playbook. Spiller/Jackson has much more potential, more balance and can do more than the Spiller/Lynch attack. GO BILLS!

Jim Rome is mocking the Bills
BuffaloBillsForever replied to ET1062's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not Ryan, it's Ryne. -
Well, the Kelsay re-signing is quite mind boggling and that starts with the front office. That is not a step in the correct direction. You summed up your boy Kelsay quite nicely in your last sentence.

Freddy Jackson is frustrated
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew this would happen when they drafted spiller. One of the biggest mistakes of the coaching staff so far has been not playing Jackson. He can run, catch, return kicks, run the wild-cat and the Bills do not even use him. This is one instance that falls all on Gailey.
