  1. I like your term myopic purple haze. It is especially fitting when discussing two unproven players in the NFL. There is not a definitive answer at this point.
  2. Its flawed when you make a point with a player that has NO BODY OF WORK IN THE NFL - James Starks. You really grasp for straws when you make comparisons to players that only have been in the league for 1 or 2 years. A valid argument would be Terrell Davis or even Fred Jackson as a few examples.
  3. I agree that taking a RB last year was not the best idea but Schoop using James Starks as the example is so flawed. That's my beef.
  4. I understand the argument on why not to pick a RB high in the draft but Schopp loves to beat this dead horse unnecessarily. Schopp's logic today on why we should not have drafted C.J Spiller was by referencing Green Bay's running attack (who has one of the worst running games in the league btw) and James Starks (undrafted?) who has had one good game in the NFL. This logic is almost as bad as the posters who start threads on why we should have kept Marshawn Lynch soon after the Saints game on Saturday. Sorry for the rant.
  5. Actually one of the flaws with the KC gameplan is not solely using Berry on Heap. If you watched the game carefully they were mixing it up a lot on his coverage which was a big mistake. Heap's big play's were when a linebacker or cornerback was responsible for him.
  6. Kolb is just another QB that has been overhyped by the Media. What has he done in the NFL - his body of work? Sorry, but we don't need another Rob Johnson on our hands.
  7. I noticed Berry is much better in space. Overall I thought he had a decent game.
  8. Anybody watching the Ravens vs Chiefs would notice the impact of how a high draft safety should have on a team. This guy is all over the field making plays. Now that I think of it, when do you see Whitner deflect any passes?
  9. Jackson without question. Lets keep perspective here. This question is posed after a once in a lifetime play made by Lynch against one of the softest secondary performance I have seen ever in the playoffs. Other than this one play, he had the productivity of what equates to what a quarterback or 3rd string running back rushes for on some teams this year. His season was horrible. Lynch did what we new he could do and that is break tackles. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Lynch is simply a one dimensional back. Every dog has his day. Good for him.
  10. Cowher wants all the power to run the franchise he goes to. This is a risky proposition unless his name is Bill Bilichick. I think each year goes by, his shtick loses some of its luster.
  11. 1 unbelievable play in what has been a horrible year for him.
  12. If first possession of the overtime ends with a field goal, the scoring team will have to kick off and the other team will have a chance to either answer with a field goal or with a touchdown that would win the contest. If the first possession ends with a touchdown, the game will be over. If the opening possession ends with no score, the overtime will proceed as it has in the past -- with the first team to get on the board winning the contest. http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/2011/01/07/NFL-playoffs-open-with-key-rules-change/UPI-59381294455100/ Personally I would love to see a game go to overtime. I like the added element of strategy that this offers to the game.
  13. Good stuff everyone! They are playing outdoors today and my thoughts why Lynch might have an above average day but still won't break 100. Enjoy the games everyone. Can't forget, go Colts! PS. The winner gets TBD/TSW bragging rights.
  14. Does Marshawn Lynch finally break 100yds rushing in a single game since being traded from the Buffalo Bills? Post your thoughts here (disregard receiving yards). I say no and it is also in a loss to the Saints 25-12. However, he will have an above average game to his standards. 87 yards on the ground total.
  15. Where do you listen to Chuck Dickerson?
  16. I don't have a problem with someone hiring him but he DOESN'T deserve 7-8 million per year. That's the type of money you give a proven head coach (not player) that has good experience at drafting and developing talent at the NFL level - Cowher, Bellichick etc. It blows my mind that someone like Harbaugh could enter in the league with no experience and make more money than the hoodie himself who is by far and proven to be an elite headcoach.
  17. There is so much hype and talk about Miami, San Fran, Denver etc willing to offer this guy 7-8 mill a year. There are so many proven headcoaches on the market - Billick, Gruden, Cowher etc. What are team execs smoking these days rationalizing this type of move? It seems ludicrous to me.
  18. One simple reason would be money. It would easily double, probably triple or quadrouple his current salary. Of course there are always trade-offs and the good thing he has going with the dirty birds. The FO didn't even know his first name.
  19. http://forums.denverbroncos.com/showthread.php?t=181638 Marv Levy announces Mike Mularkey will be back as head coach...and then...
  20. I like Andrew Luck, but am I the only one that thinks the whole package of Luck and especially the thought of Harbaugh coaching in the NFL are overhyped?
  21. To Mangini's credit as a head coach, no matter the talent level of his players - good or bad, he has pwned Bellichick and the Patriots.
  22. I believe all those companies you mentioned minus Totem have had some form or another, ties to the National Research Council in Canada. They each take on a similar design philosphy. Totem is a bit different cat with their luxurious cabinetry and design philosphy. However, since Klipsch purchased Energy and Mirage there have been some sick deals at times on some models. RC series and some of the Mirage Omnipolar models at places like vanns.
  23. I've never heard any Maggies. The last pair of speakers that I found were excellent and among the best value going were some Ascend Acoustics bookshelf speakers. I would like to audition the PSB Imagine T floorstander in the near future.
  24. All the correct pieces fell in their lap for about 2 years. I would put order of significance of Denver winning those superbowls on Elway and their offensive line. Their offensive line was so dominate. They protected an aging Elway and allowed Davis to dominate the way he did. IMO Shanahan is an after thought to the super bowl wins.
