I lol'd. There is a lot of truth to that. There are lots of Bills fans that have this mindset. Who cares if we lose, just be happy we have a team. Why on earth as fans should we be happy and accept mediocrity. For the most part it has been worse than that. As bills fans don't we want to strive for greatness?? Don't you want this team to be great. It seems many are just passive with the Bills losing ways. Mind boggling!

Colts Interested In Favre
BuffaloBillsForever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Manning is hurt and is expected to miss a few games. It would be something if Favre just filled in for those few weeks. Crazy as it sounds he probably can be productive for a game here and there though he can't last the weekly grind of the NFL season at this point. He would be better than their backup. LOL -
His twitter... I'm in Mississippi, down at the crossroads....looking 4 that deal Mr. Johnson cut so many years ago.... http://twitter.com/#!/jimirsay

When I say "it factor" I mean football instincts. He just looks lost behind the line of scrimmage. He doesn't attack the line just like Lynch and just attempts one cut after another trying to break the play outside the tackles. You just can't use your speed in the NFL. Another glaring thing is on a screen pass he didn't let the play develop and wait for his blocks...a big no no. This is basic stuff! This guy has talent no doubt but I'm scared he might not have the "smarts" for the game. We see this all the time with young talented quarterbacks (JP Losman comes to mind).

Bills-Broncos Official Game Thread
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How can we not be concerned about the o-line? We don't have any injuries there yet. Perphaps the worst offensive line in the last decade, no depth and injuries will happen. Fitz is going to get his receivers killed. Hung the ball more than once today. QB = question mark Spiller = question mark Offensive line = BIG question mark Linebackers = question mark CB's = question mark Wr's = question This is a 2 to 3 win team. Maybe 1 win. -
Now Mr. Wilson would make you believe Donahoe was responsible according to his public statements in the past where he threw him under the bus but we actually came close to winning in the Donahoe era, and not to mention the games were exciting to watch. ...now enter Marv Levy and a series of horrible personelle, fiscal and management decisions. Under his helm he was responsible for the most horrific drafts this decade (maybe ever in the history of the Buffalo Bills), hired perhaps the worst head coach in the NFL at that time , horrible FA acquisitions and overpaid to boot! (Walker, Dockery etc). If this wasn't enough the Levy ara was the most dry, boring, conservative football ever! This is the time period a lot of fans were lost. To this day Nix and Gailey are STILL cleaning up his mess. I wonder what Wilson really thinks about that move to hire him? The Levy era was waaaayyyyyyyyyy worse than the Donahoe era. All this said I think we have a competent GM and head coach now...finally.

I like Brad Smith A LOT!
BuffaloBillsForever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would like to see a minimum of 10 touches per game. -
and not to mention returning punts and kickoffs. I love having him in the game on short yardage situations. He will be a tough man to stop and I think he will be helping us move the sticks greatly. He will surely reduce the number of 3 and outs which are just momentum killers. I don't mind him being set up at WR to act as a decoy to setup up a reverse throw (aka randell el type play) or some other trick play later in the game but I don't want them to feel like they have to get him the ball consistently playing WR and getting lit up trying to catch a ball throw a tight window. I kind of gasped when he was thrown to last night! He is a super dangerous player and we need this guy taking the snap from the center and let him just do what he always did with the Jets. Anywho, I think he will be our most dangerous player on offense this year.

Lee Evan's effect on Stevie Johnson
BuffaloBillsForever replied to coltrane34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It called the Lee Evans myth. -
The only thing I am dissappointed in is the 4th round pick for him. Thought it was a bit low (3rd sounds realistic). But other than that Evans is a one dimensional WR with fly route capabilities that can't run the crucial underneath and timing routes in the NFL. He does not make or break our offense and has pretty much been invisible for a number of years now. Did we really lose a leader? I dunno, I never seen it on the field. Was he a class act? Sure. However, I don't mind dumping his salary for the sacrifice of the rebuild, locking up guys like Williams and Stevie long term, hopefully have a top 3 draft pick next year and make a splash next offseason in fa to polish the turd into one shiny one. We are not winning this year anyways. Its not that bad people.

Bulldog (WGR) is losing his sh_t :D
BuffaloBillsForever replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd take Chuck Dickerson back on the air in a heartbeat over Dumb and Dumber any day (anyone catch the irony ). Dickerson was actually very knowledgeable on the game where you can learn about a players technique (what he is doing correct or worng), coaching, strategy etc. Dumb and dumber have no knowledge of football. -
Reggie Bush won't last the year with consistent 25-30 rushes per game, not to mention all the wildcat they will throw at you. That's not the type of back he is. His body is in for a rude awakening. No quarterback. They will give the Bills a run for last place in the division.

I purposely posted this prior to the pre-season and regular season. Looking at this roster on paper I still think we are in yet another rebuilding season. Fitz is still a question mark, the o-line is a question mark, D-Line (while greatly improved), LB's and our secondary is a question mark. Special teams last year were solid minus some Moorman struggles. I'm not really concerned about ST. I just can't put on the rose colored glasses like I have in previous years thinking we are going to win 9 -10 games. Realistically, I see this as a 4-5 win season if we stay reasonable healthy. Looking at the depth (or lack there of) of this roster this season could get ugly if we have some serious injuries at any combination of these question mark positions. I'm not a doom and gloom type guy but I still think we are a few more years out to get to 9 win seasons. If there was anytime I want to be wrong is on this topic. Go Bills!

Captain Checkoff
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fitz needs to stop throwing key interceptions at critical points in the game. -
With the Toro ZTR (or any ZTR) I can get somewhat of a baseball field pattern effect on the lawn (cutting straight up and down on a dime). You have so much control with a ZTR. Now if I had a small roller on the back while I cut the pattern on the lawn would really pop.

Baltimore vs. Bills Dropped An Easy Pick 6 Heap vs. Whitner (:

Zero Turn Radius come in really handy if you have a lot of trees and property like I have. I cut up to about 3-4 acres with the ZTR (rest with a larger tractor) and cut small patches with the old John Deere every once in a while just to keep it running. ZTR's are super fast and efficient because you are not going over the same cut grass twice. I also have hundreds of small trees so the advantages of the ZTR is tremendous with its trimming abilities. If you don't have a lot of trees and only 1/3 acre the advantages of them are not so great. But hell they are just damn fun to drive.
-
I have both a vintage John Deere (30 years old or so) and a Toro Zero Turn Radius riding lawn mower that is just a little over a year old. After using a zero turn riding lawn mower I could never go back to standard riding mower. I just LOVE that thing. Been very happy with it. As for brands and models I don't think you can go wrong with buying either John Deere, Toro or Cub Cadet.

Plaxico Burress signs 1-yr deal with Jets
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Rippedcity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This will be looked back on as the best free agency signing after the season is over. Best WR in the game IMO. The thing about Plax is you don't need an accurate quarterback just need to throw it high and use his positioning. He is all about using his height advantage over the CB. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a randy moss year one type performance. -
LOL. That is a laughing stock. Both their organization and fans. Rex and the G.M overplaying their cards with an already successful defense and letting their anemic offense just rot and get worse going into this season. The only two things they had with that offense is the running game because of their offensive line and the playmaking ability of Brad Smith. The minutia of Rex et at al is pathetic. Great post.

Brad Smith...Update...signs with Buffalo
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Mike In Illinois's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOVE this signing. Brad Smith immediately improves our return game and quick strike playmaking ability to our offense. The Bills can do some cool stuff with personnel packages/mismatches as well. Fits in totally with Gailey's philosophy. Not only does this signing improve our special teams and offense, this is a HUGE loss to the Jets anemic offense. Smith was a game and momentum changer for that team. He was SO important to the Jets especially because the Jets defense kept them in the game so long. Could care less what they payed for him. I don't sign his paycheck.
