His inaccuracy is a BIG problem. But there are many issues right now compounding like injuries. What do you make of the opening drive and Fitz completely missing a wide open Stevie Johnson on that quick slant? That was a game changer right of the bat. Should have been a touchdown. That's one example of it being on "him". But sure there is a plethora of problems including the LB's, cornerbacks, Wr's, return game etc.

Do we re-sign Roscoe next year?
BuffaloBillsForever replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really don't care at this point either way. Just that something needs to be addressed at WR. Just like the linebacker position. -
This is one problem area with this team were we lack depth. We need to at least look at the draft and in FA and perhaps even dare I say resigning Roscoe at the right price despite his prone to injuries.

The thing is I don't remember Smith being that "tentative" on KR with the Jets nor being very slow once hitting an opening.
-
I have to admit, I was all for this signing after watching him the last few years with the Jets on KR and coming in and running their offense a half dozen times a game. I have also defended him a lot on this message board. However, we all know he has struggled getting on the field and returning kick offs. I lay blame on Gailey not using him in short yardage situations but given his chances like Spiller hasn't made any meaningful impact. However, a red flag was raised today. He looked REALLY SLOW returning kicks today. It was just very concerning to me. He looks like a totally different player than what I watched in NY. I don't get it? Right now he is certainly not worth what they are paying him and doesn't even look close to the player that was playing for the Jets.

Yes sir indeed. IIRC the guaranteed money for Fitz in the next 2 years would be about equal to Dick Jaurons contract, which all of it was guaranteed I believe. With the 24 mill guaranteed in the next 2 years with Fitz contract the Bills can opt out and not cost them anything. But that also means not addressing the QB which we surely need to do. Fitz can't complete passes beyond 15 yards. Were screwed.

Buddy Nix - lack of player depth, extending Fitz midseason, drafting and signing gimmicky free agents instead of positional needs like -ol, linebacker etc. Overall mediocre to poor drafts. Really the only player that is starter material is Dareus. We are in a lot of trouble folks. The sad thing is, as bad as our defense has been our offense is just as bad and our head coach does not seem to be able to utilize many of players that we consider to have "potential".

Fitz-tragic is most fitting. Brilliant actually considering how this year played out, contract extension and his relationship with the Bills fanbase will soon end up. -

Stevie has disappeared in about 50% of the games this year? He is not a sustainable #1 WR. Is the smart thing to let him go if we wants 7-8 or 9 mill a year. I think he is only worth 5 mill max. I wouldn't franchise him either. We are in a lose-lose with him. -

I agree. Ball never should have been thrown there. Bad decision by our franchise QB...sigh. Our WR's suck to. We have so MANY problems that are starting to show. -

This 3 game stretch has probably been the worst football played in the past decade of losing. Now that says something! Garbage on offense, defense and special teams. Wow!...just wow. And we have watched a lot of BAD football in this era. -

I hate to say it but you are right. Brad Smith looks really slow out there on kick returns. I would pull him and just leave Spiller out there. -

Trent Edwards had a high completion%. It's a misleading stat when all you throw is check downs and short passes. Fitz can't even throw the quick 5 yard slant anymore. HIs accuracy down field is even A LOT worse. I would consider Fitz a very innaccurate passer. -

Fitz sucks. Clearly he has shown he can't be consistent over an entire year. His body of work proves this now. We have SO MANY HOLES to fill. We need a QB, 2 cornerbacks, 2 LB's, 2 Wr's, DE. Also a defensive co-ordinator. Bills are frauds again!!! Sigh! -

Our defense STINKS! They are absolutely horrible. -
They played a lot of nickle, dime etc against us. We were unable to pound the ball. The Patriots a week ago, when the Jets went heavy on the CB's, Brady audibled to the run and they ran the ball successfully. We were unable to do that. We had no answers which was concerning to me. I like the idea in another thread here about using bunch, stacking formations in the passing game as opposed to the spread which we have been running mostly out of shotgun.
-
I'm not talking about employing the option like Denver has or even using it every week. However we are one of the few teams that could potentially have this a part of their playbook, I think we should try a few plays against the Jets in two weeks. We have the personnel to run it effectively IMO with Brad Smith and Spiller. We were totally inept against their vaunted defense and I would try anything at this point especially if we have no answer for their press coverage and Fitzy can't get that ball intermediately down field. We are all dying for Smith and Spiller to get more involved in the offense. Perhaps?

Jets-Broncos live Game Thread

Our coaches really this dumb in the NFL? 4th and inches YOU QB SNEAK. Horrific coaching just hampered the broncos at least 3 points. -
Your correct! If you watched the Jets vs Patriots, New England used bunch formations to help out their passing game Not Only can't it prevent jamming receivers, once they get off the line of scrimmage you can set up "legal picks" on the db's. When New England bunched Welker's side, Revis played off a bit for the reasons I mentioned above.

fresh killed turkey for thanksgiving....
BuffaloBillsForever replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
A fresh turkey is always best but we are not talking about night and day differences here unless the frozen turkey was sitting in the freezer a long time. One person above mentioned texture and there can be slight textural differences in the meat between the two. I find brining the bird can also change the texture of the breast meat a bit. Fresh or frozen, the biggest differences will come from the actual cooking of the bird - not overcooking it. You overcook a turkey, it doesn't matter if it was killed the day before, it will not taste good. I actually don't mind frozen utility turkey's. They are labelled as utility in the grocery store because they have a missing leg or flap of skin missing for example. Basically, mistakes were made in the butchering or processing of the bird and you get them at a discounted price. If you take the care in preparation and cooking even with a "utility" turkey, they can come out excellent and it becomes very cheap to feed a large number of people.
